[Open] When darkness is upon your door
Who: Hanako (
burntviolet) and you!
What: Lilly is gone. Hanako doesn't take it very well, and tries to cope with the loss by going to the places she likes.
When: Day 137
Where: There will be two options: Library, and the park.
Rating: PG.
[ A - Gefion Park ]
[ It was nothing short of a horrible week for Hanako, just like it was probably for most people. But what hurt her the most was the notice that her best friend Lilly was missing from her room. One morning she headed there as usual to help her get ready for breakfast, and all her things, along with her own person, were nowhere to be found. The "Contact Not Found" sign on her bracelet was the ultimate confirmation that Lilly was no longer in Asgard. It hit Hanako harder than it should have, considering that now she's sure her friend was safe from the danger that lies here. Her company, although short-living, did help her emotionally during the Darkness attacks. She would have possibly broken down otherwise.
She's going to spend most of the morning in the park, sitting on the grass by the lake. Nashi's been left in the House. Hanako wanted to be alone while brooding. It doesn't look like she had a great sleep lately, either, looking at the clear bags under her eyes. ]
[ B - Great Library ]
[ Towards the afternoon, Hanako can be found at the library, sitting on her usual beanbag and mindlessly flipping through the pages of a random book she picked up. She's not reading it, though... her mind is wandering to other, unpleasant places where it shouldn't be. Not even her most favourite hobby is helping her. ]

Everyone'd gonna have different viewpoints. Despite the admiration she kind of felt for the protagonist, though, Hanako would... never do half the things she did in the books, mostly because she wasn't brave enough... or stupid enough.
"There are some people here who claim to be vampires, aren't there? I talked to someone who said he was a werewolf, but I haven't seen him around since then."
no subject
"I've never met either one here, actually. My good friend Samantha is half demon. I think that's the closest I've ever come to meeting anyone like that."
no subject
...
Seconds after the mention of that name, Hanako had a double-take, her eyes widening, freezing on the spot.
"Sa... Samantha? Y-You know her?"
no subject
Hisao was given pause by her sudden change in demeanour. Maybe Hanako was scared of Samantha's reputation? Her 'bad side' had posted around the network, of course.
"Yeah. She's a good friend of mine - She's actually really nice if you give her a chance. I had coffee at her apartment a few weeks ago and we chat every so often."
no subject
"I see. You don't know what she'd done to Mirel-san, do you?"
no subject
Hisao smiled and shrugged.
"Anyway, I know Sam has her problems, but she's really a sweet person, even behind that gruff exterior she puts up on the network. I get the impression she isn't used to having many friends, so, it means a lot that she's kind of let me in a little bit, you know?"
no subject
"Hisao. There is something you need to know." But she didn't know if the library was the safest place to reveal it. All the same, he had to know what his supposed friend had been up to. "You won't like it, but I can't keep it a secret."
no subject
Hisao's reply came with a blank stare. What was she talking about? Had something really terrible happened between the two? He'd just been talking to Karu yesterday and everything had been fine.
"So, tell me. There's no-one else around right now."
no subject
"About three weeks ago... Samantha attacked Mirel-san. He sustained serious injuries, and was on the verge of death. Mirel-san told me that people with body scars particularly attract her."
... And that wasn't all. But because Karu hid that horrifying particular from her, she didn't know about the sexual implications and how worse she'd hurt him.

He laced his hands on the table and shifted uncomfortably in his chair. It was a difficult subject - he thought she'd just shown off a lot on the camera and nothing else.
"I'm really sad to hear about what happened to Karuika, though. No, I didn't know that. And he's such a nice guy, too."
no subject
"And I don't want you to be alone while you're with her, even when she's in a normal state." She added, firmly. "Bring someone with you, someone strong that could take on her in case she turns bad again and you're threatened. This is important, Hisao. You have a scar, too."
no subject
"...hey, hold on just a moment, Hanako. She can't help what she is, and she hates it. I appreciate you being concerned for me, but she's my friend. I'm not going to treat her differently because of something she can't help about herself - I know how much that hurts and I'm not going to do it to anyone."
His own friends had abandonned him there in that hospital, after all. Casting him aside. Sure, his heart condition was dangerous only to himself, but still.
"I'm really sorry about what happened to Karuika - I really am. You know I'm not someone who can ignore something like that and feel nothing... but that's only one piece of the puzzle."
no subject
"Did I say you should avoid her? Did I say you should stop being her friend? Did I say you should leave her to her own troubles? No, I did not say any of that!" The last bit came out a bit louder; at this point, she didn't care whether people were listening or not. Hisao was being stupidly naive.
"I said you have to be careful around her. If she acts up again, and you're in the wrong place at the wrong time, she will hurt you! It's not a matter of being blamed for the things her other side does, I'm not like the other people, I'm not blaming her, I'm warning you of the danger that might come if you're reckless enough to approach her when she's in that state! You're going to end up just like Mirel-san, that's what will happen!"
Thanks for bringing Samantha up, Hisao. Now she felt even worse about everything.
no subject
"You said I should take someone with me and not go alone - well, she's not a social person. The fact that we ever hang out at all is kind of a big deal precisely because she doesn't like hanging out with a lot of people. I'm sorry, I just don't see the normalcy in basically bringing a bodyguard with me to my friends' house for coffee."
His own voice was quiet - he was pretty annoyed, but he didn't want to yell or anything. He actually didn't want to upset Hanako further at all, but he didn't want to compromise his own views either.
"I'll be careful, alright? I'm not going to wind up hurt. She's told me warning signs to look for and I'll get out of there if I start to see them. I don't want you worrying over things like that. I'll be careful. I'll be fine."
no subject
But... whatever. The least thing she needed after losing Lilly was to argue with her other closest friend. That would be the icing on the horrible trauma cake she was forced to eat the latest days. Deep in her heart, she hoped that nothing would disrupt the balance, she hoped that the demon woman wasn't going to hurt him. Only the gods may know what would happen if Hanako were to learn that Hisao's supposed friend attempted to kill him. Probably, nothing good would come out of it. She wouldn't just say 'I told you so'.
"Fine... I don't want to argue with you. Lilly's gone, and I sure don't feel like getting into a fight with you of all people. Just know that I don't agree with your view of this situation at all." She pointed out, rather harshly despite the apparent white flagging. That was something she had to make clear, after all. "Be careful; that's all I'm going to ask. If you're not careful, there will be consequences." And that wasn't a threat, although it sounded like it was one. She would never do anything to hurt him- he was referring to Samantha and her antics.
no subject
"I don't want to fight either. I'm sorry it came up at all. I miss Lilly a lot and the last thing I want is for you to be upset with me. Let's just... agree to disagree for now and concentrate on trying to cheer one another up, alright?"
no subject
Without saying anything, she stood up and put the book back in the shelf where she picked it before. How the hell was she suppost to cheer him up when her mood was down below six feet under by now, and he was part of the cause? She'd rather leave him there and take a walk somewhere else, but her legs wouldn't move.
"So?" She asked rather briskly, back turned to him.
no subject
"So... were you hungry? I can make us some dinner if you are. Or we can go out and buy something to eat? There's a tea shop not too far from here and I think they do cafe type food - little cakes and pastries and things. If you want. My treat?"
It seemed to be the least he could do, considering.
no subject
"Fine." She muttered. "Tea shop it is."
no subject
He glanced around, not spotting any. Still, she may have left them at the counter or something. He started walking either way.

His voice was full of forced cheerfulness. He really wasn't experienced enough to know how to handle this situation. All he knew was her every movement and word and expression spoke of the fact that she was still upset at him. He wanted to explain more, but frankly? He thought it would just make her more mad with him and he really didn't want that.

"So... Um..."
Think Hisao. Think hard - there must be at least one or two topics of conversation you can come up with.
"...."
Or not. The only things he could think of right now were depressing things. Cheering up Hibiki after Shi-Chan's departure, Nakama after Claudia's departure - But someone they cared for had left too and so far he was doing a terrible job of cheering up Hanako.

She would only walk, staring at the ground.
