What: Lilly is gone. Hanako doesn't take it very well, and tries to cope with the loss by going to the places she likes.

[ A - Gefion Park ]

[ It was nothing short of a horrible week for Hanako, just like it was probably for most people. But what hurt her the most was the notice that her best friend Lilly was missing from her room. One morning she headed there as usual to help her get ready for breakfast, and all her things, along with her own person, were nowhere to be found. The "Contact Not Found" sign on her bracelet was the ultimate confirmation that Lilly was no longer in Asgard. It hit Hanako harder than it should have, considering that now she's sure her friend was safe from the danger that lies here. Her company, although short-living, did help her emotionally during the Darkness attacks. She would have possibly broken down otherwise.

She's going to spend most of the morning in the park, sitting on the grass by the lake. Nashi's been left in the House. Hanako wanted to be alone while brooding. It doesn't look like she had a great sleep lately, either, looking at the clear bags under her eyes. ]

[ B - Great Library ]

[ Towards the afternoon, Hanako can be found at the library, sitting on her usual beanbag and mindlessly flipping through the pages of a random book she picked up. She's not reading it, though... her mind is wandering to other, unpleasant places where it shouldn't be. Not even her most favourite hobby is helping her. ]

I would suggest to read one hour or two before you go to bed... unless you have a job that occupies most of your day. [ Wait, uh. ] ... Do you have a job?

In this place? No, I don't, but.. [ .. guess it's okay to tell hanako this much, right? besides, it's just being honest.. ] I spend a lot of my time training around here. Almost all day sometimes.

Oh... Training your powers?

[integrous]

Not just my powers, my body as well. Self-defense and all that, you know? I want to get stronger.

[ so next time she'll be stronger, next tim she won't have to fail in protecting her friends. ]

I understand... I'm doing the same with my powers, even though I can't say I'm very confident in them.

[ Things like fire would reduce her plants in ashes no matter how sturdy she could make them to protect people... ]

.. Yeah, I wish I had something a little more offensive. It'd make it easier to protect people with. [ .. ] So I guess I can understand what you're saying.

Well, I... would rather it was used for means of defense. I'm not capable of fighting at all.

[ yeah, that.. does seem likely, after all, asahi didn't expect hanako to be the fighting type at all either.. ]

Well.. if you're ever in trouble, you can just call me, you know? I know I don't always succeed [ the last time painfully taught her that much ] but I'll defend you with all I've got if I have to!

[ ... Blinking rapidly at you. Call her astounded. ]

U-uh... defend me?

Yeah, defend you! You know, if you get attacked, I'll go like HIYAA--

[ .. oh, being shushed by the librarian in the middle of standing up and doing a kick, quickly.. sitting back down.. ]

... Alright, I- I get it.

[ Getting some second-hand embarassment right now... ]

I wouldn't want you to risk getting hurt because of me, though...

[ second hand embarassment is pretty much the life of all people who know this girl.. ]

I can take it! Don't you think I look pretty tough? And I'm only getting stronger! And.. heh, well, we're friends! It's what friends do.

[burntviolet]

Yuki-san, I just... don't want to become responsible if anything ever happens to you... [ Because she'd feel terrible- and she had her share of horrible things happening to her friends lately. ]

[integrous]

.. But.. you know, if something happened to you and I wouldn't have done anything to help you, I'd feel responsible too.

[burntviolet]

Still... [ They're pretty stuck on this, aren't they... ]

[integrous]

[ yup, they.. sure are.. But Asahi is a pro at avoiding uncomfortable situations, so she just quickly shakes her head. ]

Whatever, we'll worry about that when the time comes!

... Alright. I guess.

[ She closes the book, a little abruptly. ] We were talking about... ah yes, about finding time to read books without... eating on them. Right?

[integrous]

Oh, right! [ at this her energy seems to live up again quite a bit - as if the previous part of the conversation never happened. ]

I promise I'll try to not eat and read at the same time again now, okay? For your sake too! ... If I can remember, that is.

[burntviolet]

[ A nod. ]

I will lend you my books, in case you can't find them around. And if you need any reminder not to eat while reading... [ She's not even being sarcastic. ]

[integrous]

Right, right. You can call me and say 'don't forget what I told you, young lady!'

[ she chuckles happily. ]

Well, not exactly that... but I'll send you a text message.

[ Because saying that would be hella weird. ]

[integrous]

[ it's okay, asahi is hella weird.. ]

That works too! I'll make sure to keep an eye out for it.

[ Nod nod, let's leave it at that.

And then, silence.

That kind of awkward silence Hanako is so good at. ]
