[And he's just going to be over here, backing up slightly. In his experience people that 1. refer to themselves in the third person and the plural and 2. hiss are usually Nothing Good. They're up there somewhere just below 'has fangs' on the list of red flags.]

It's not the retreat but something Ryan says--head--that actually grabs his attention and makes him take a step forward to follow, eyes brightening. ]

Head--head head, our head. It's not our head or the head--head? It's inside-out and in... Where's our head? [ Come on man this should be easy to explain. ]

[That is #1 on the list of stuff that is really not reassuring, and he's seriously tempted to just go ahead and make a break for it when Grower steps after him. Ryan glances briefly over his shoulder to make sure he's not about to walk right into anything before carrying on.]

Um. I'm really not the guy to ask about heads being inside out, but it looks fine to me? On the outside, anyway. It's... definitely in place and all.

['Inside-out' sounds like it might well be accurate to him, though.]

In place? It's on....yes. [ Because he is going to literally reach up with both hand to hold his own head, and it is definitely where it ought to be. That's good to know even if he already knew. It was a nice reminder c: ]

[Ryan pauses there, just sort of.. watching that. Okay. Potentially more disoriented than a threat? He's not really certain that the guy isn't still both of those things-- or of anything, really, beyond the certain fact that even with his experience in weird shit this isn't really a familiar situation. Instinct still says get the hell out, but the need to assess weird stuff keeps him in place.

It's exactly this kind of second-guessing that's gotten him into most of the trouble he's ever had, but hey.]
