I blew up. I think Jack put me on my quest bed? And then John and Davesprite and I have been heading to the new session since then.

[Everything adds up as much as it always does, and who could object to Jade becoming cuter and more powerful in one fell swoop? Maybe Jack isn't so bad.]

So the new session was created and not relegated to processing standards and paperwork?

That is correct! Your teen mom and Dave's teen bro are here, too. We were their guardians in their session. It's.. crazy.

[ What an understatement, but she doesn't seem bothered at all. ]

Does she look like me? [Rose files the question away as stupid as soon as she says it, she has always shown a familial similarity to her mother but... teen mother.] Aside from being blonde that is.

[Oh how Rose would like to know that's what Dave calls her. Doesn't matter that Rose will call her teen mom too, Dave saying it will be the basis for many discussions. So many discussions.]

I never doubted that my mother would be stunning in her younger years before alcoholism took a hold. But, only used to be?

We still are! It's a long story. There was a boy involved! We are just not roommates anymore.

She's stopped drinking, too. You should be proud of her, Rose!

[She opens her mouth to query "boy" but Jade sure knows how to divert the conversation. Rose lets her mouth hang open for a second.]

She's done what? And you're sure she has the same DNA as my mother who could drink a fish into a coma?

She's from a completely different set of circumstances, Rose! I'm really proud of her.

[Rose stands. Slack jawed. Give her a moment.

[ Jade was expecting a reaction, but perhaps not this much of one. Maybe it shouldn't be a surprise; she'd likely be just as shocked if Rose told her that her grandpa had given up, I dunno, blue ladies. ]

Yeah? She seems happy, um, I think.

[She's shaking off the shock now. The same people in different situations can change wildly.]

I was pretty relieved, too, honestly. You should've seen her liquor cabinet--

[ Jade pauses, falters. ]

Lalonde the elder's would have put hers to shame. It was a sight to behold. I did consider for her birthday applying to the Guinness Book of World Records with it one year before finding something better.

What did you finally settle on?

[ She's gesturing at her, trying to get Rose to sit back down. ]

[She does, pushing her skirt forward so it doesn't crumple.] An apron that I hand stitched "Dust Buster" on as poorly as I could manage while still allowing her to wear it was that years delight. It was slightly less mean, I think.

[ Jade's shoulders shake with subtle laughter before she can really help herself. ] Oh my god. I forgot all about the passive aggressive gift war you had with her.
