In this twilight, how dare you speak of grace

Who: Isaac and Jackson || Isaac and Derek || Isaac and Sophie
What: Isaac's three modes are: fighting, realtalks, and crying. So. Isaac stirs up a lot of shit everywhere because he's Isaac. Brawling with Jackson, talking about heavy stuff in the future with Derek, and most likely just breaking down on Sophie. Good times.
When: 293 || 294 || evening of 294
Where: On the streets || Derek's place in Thor || Sophie's place
Rating: PG-15 or so? Fighting and talk of death

Three threads in one post so it doesn't get spammy. :)

[ there's a certain smugness that comes with getting in the first punch. or there is when you're jackson, anyway, and that flash of ego's enough of a distraction to get him nailed in the stomach. the second punch he does a better job of deflecting, but he lets go of isaac's wrist to do it.

which means another free fist for isaac to punch him with, and jackson goes for the same approach as before: hit isaac in the face before he can rally enough to return the favor. jackson's balance is still fine, and he's got that to his advantage - if he can just keep isaac off his. ]

[ there's something to be said about losing your head in a fight: it'll leave you open, but sometimes you get lucky. which is the case for isaac, seeing as he lands a punch on jackson's face.

he's healed fully from that warm welcome isaac offered him when he first showed up, but there's still a trace of blood on his upper lip when he turns a furious look towards isaac. his nose isn't broken (thank god; talk about things that would piss him off), but it's the thought that counts, and he doesn't appreciate it.

but isaac's still left open, success or not, and jackson grits his teeth and slams into him, aiming for a full body tackle. he's got a favor to return, and that favor is laying isaac out and punching him while he's down. ]

[ jackson didn't really get the chance to do much fighting as a werewolf, but it was just enough for him to notice the lack of that extra power now. it's doesn't exactly matter, seeing as isaac doesn't have that bonus either, but it's still vaguely annoying.

isaac's frantic punching doesn't find much in the way of solid purchase, but it is inevitably lucky: he lands a hit to jackson's face that splits his lower lip, and it's enough to distract jackson. he tries to get hold of isaac's wrist with one hand to deflect at least one of the offending fists, then attempts a clean punch straight to isaac's face with the other. ]

[ it doesn't even occur to jackson that isaac is cheating, because he's too busy trying to hit him and he doesn't even know what to look out for. doesn't matter either way; the punch catches him off guard, and it's disorienting, and it does the job. he's on his ass a second later, then scrambling back another foot before he realizes what just happened.

his chest hurts. so does his lip, and he takes a confused second to check it; his hand comes away bloody. but that's irrelevant, because isaac just cheated, and jackson looks somewhere between incredulous and amused. ]

No powers.

[ he says it as a mocking echo of isaac's own rules, and it's clear it's just a roundabout way of calling isaac a coward. there's another pause, distracted, and he checks his lip a second time; the pain's already nearly gone, which isn't - it's not surprising, exactly, because he's done the supernatural healing thing before. but isaac doesn't know that he's here for good, that he's even got a power. he should probably look smug about it, but his own irritation at being stuck here is enough to cancel it out. ]

[ jackson somehow makes it look casual when he climbs to his feet, letting out a short laugh as he finishes wiping the blood from his lip. there's nothing left of the cut there when he does, and now he's finally getting around to looking smug. ]

So what's your house, then? The freaks?

[ it's fairly apt, though he doesn't actually know anything about the houses. he notes that step back, and he doesn't make a move to keep the fight going - partly because if anyone's a coward here, it's him. there's more to it than that, of course; all his assertions that he's moved on, he's over it, they're not completely false. he'd be happier without any of this drama, but old habits die hard.

that said, even if he's just standing his ground, it'd be asking a bit much to expect him to back down gracefully. ]

Are we done here? Or do you want to get your ass kicked again.

[ jackson won, technically - if isaac hadn't pulled out the magic trick, he would've been soundly beaten. but there's this, isaac's obvious anger and the fact that he can't just let it out - that's a victory too, and it's way sweeter.

it's enough that over it or not, jackson can't help an arrogant grin, just to show off how perfectly fine his face is despite the punches. then he turns and continues on his way like turning his back on isaac isn't even a threat; like isaac's not even a threat, and that's a deliberate message. ]
