[There is a sign outside of A Needle in a Haystack. It reads:

TODAY

FREE TEA AND HUMMUS

CELEBRATE CLEAN WATER WITH OUR HIGH QUALITY TEA
AND A PLATE OF HUMMUS AND PITA BREAD

When you enter the shop, you can find a few employees serving the drinks at the tables, a couple other stocking the shelves and helping customers, and Caterina overseeing the whole thing from a table in the corner. She has a cup of tea and is looking quite satisfied and would not be opposed to some company right about now.]

[She smiles gently and gestures to the open chair at the table, clearly intending he should sit.]

No reason to. And besides, we can always use more patronage.

[He obliges, not unhappy to get off his feet for a while.]

It will do the shop good if they remember your charity in the future.

I take you didn't suffer much from the poison, or have recovered already.

We have had at least one day where we have provided complimentary tea and hummus. It was quite some time ago, however.

I personally suffered no ill effects.

[She takes a sip of her tea then raises her eyebrows.]

As far as I know the only one who works at the shop who did was Alastair.

[He'll take her word for it that free stuff will bring in more money later, because he's no merchant. Besides, it probably is good to reassure the people. The mention of Alasair, however, gets a raised eyebrow.]

If I believed in luck, I'd say he's cursed with a lack of it.

[She hums in agreement.]

Well in his case part of it stems from the rather astonishing situation he comes from.

Do you want any tea?

No doubt.

[He nods. Yes plz.]

I'm glad we can at least trust the water again. [If not much else here :T ] I've suffered nothing worse than an unsettled stomach, but I saw what other damage he inflicted on the people.

[She waves to one of the servers and they bring over tea for Altaïr.]

It was terrible, what he did. You did well in finding him.

I could wish that I'd found him sooner. Or that he'd had more information to spill.

But the deed is done and he'll do no more harm. I can be thankful for that, regardless of what some may say.

[She snorts derisively.]

They are fools to regard one man's life so highly in a time of war. He attacked the city directly and harmed many. What will they say when battle comes again? That we should not defend ourselves for fear of hurting someone?

Some may come from lands where they have the luxury of such idealism.

That doesn't make it any less foolish.

No, indeed it does not.

Still, the deed is done, and it was handled well, as far as I can see.

With the exception of the bragging to the entire city.

[Sigh, Pyro.]

[She laughs shortly.]

No, I cannot imagine it would have been.

From what I hear of that boy he is... rather incredibly wild. It is not much of a surprise that he would make it such an announcement.

I'd have left, but I thought it better not to prompt them to wonder why I avoided the attention.

[He flexes his left wrist on top of the table.]

We were of one mind when it came to his fate, but I would have ended it anyway if they'd disagreed.

[She nods.]

I do not doubt you would have.

It's been quite a while since I've hunted a target. Perhaps this should make me feel like an Assassin again.

[It doesn't really, though. The killing's never been the real reason they exist.]

[She raises her eyebrows at him.]

Should it?

Only if we are merely what our enemies say we are.

[So, no. They're more than murderers.]

I like to think we can make a difference here by doing more than executing saboteurs.

You already are. For at least a few people, anyway.

[Alastair, Ichigo (while he was here), anybody they've helped in any way.]

For a few. We could stand to increase our ranks.

[She tilts her head slightly.]

I suppose we could. Do you already have some people in mind?

A few passing ideas. Nothing certain. Ezio may know more suitable candidates.

[She nods.]

I am sure you both will find some good recruits.

Between the two of us, we'll manage.

[Oh hello, server-with-tea. He takes a few moments to accept it and sip. Mmm.]

It's strange to think of building a brotherhood from nothing like this. In Masyaf, all my men were born to the order or came to it from the surrounding village.

Ezio is quite experienced with it. Has he described his circumstances to you before?
