[They must be loud to be effective. These are the infamous Chords of Steel we're talking about! Their power is all but legendary.

He does hear the knocking, though, in the pause between shouts, and he pauses. He recognizes that voice, so he hurries to the door and opens it, looking somewhat more disarrayed than usual.]

Mr. Edgeworth! Hi.

[He does not know about the Chords of Steel, Polly. You know, they're way ahead of his time.]

What...were you doing?

[It's true that not everyone is informed about the Chords of Steel. Even in his time, some people still don't get it, can you believe it?]

My vocal exercises. I've got to keep my vocal chords in prime condition!

[He says this so proudly.]

For court. I'm known for my Chords of Steel in the courtroom. My voice echoes through the halls of justice.

[He just lets his voice echo through the halls of justice when it has to. No practice required! Or maybe it's just because he's been doing it for six years. Force of habit.]

It's not necessary. It's effective. You know, you have to train your vocal cords just like athletes train. They're muscles, too. Not to mention your diaphragm.

[I'm really happy for you, Edgeworth, and I'mma let you finish, but Apollo Justice has the most powerful vocal cords OF ALL TIME.
