[ Desmond is a little surly at the moment, feeling plenty sleep-deprived thanks to the ghosts trailing after him. Every so often one of them seems to grow emboldened, spurned on by the wailing of its fellows, and lashes out for him in a fury. ]
I said fuck off! [ He's not quite sure on the logistics involved that turn his Sigyn healing against the apparitions, but Desmond won't look a gift horse in the mouth. Avoiding its initial swing, he puts a hand to the side of its face. It's much like how he handled the perception shift of his Eagle Vision, the subtle flick of a switch somewhere inside, and the ghost bolts like it's been burned.
He turns to watch it go with a scowl, still walking, and almost plows right into Giles. ]
[ Giles sidesteps him at the last moment, but awkwardly, distractedly-- his attention is all turned inward, running through theories and solutions in his head, trying to formulate some sort of plan by the time he's home to his materials. There's nothing dogging his steps right now, but he expects that he hasn't shaken them for long. Candles, herbs, he can remember most of the Latin...
When Desmond nearly slams into him, he hardly notices: the flash of movement catches his eye, and he's caught up in fascination before annoyance has a chance to register. Giles turns sharply as though to follow him, eyes on Desmond. The man's halfway familiar, an old conversation-- Giles scrambles to place his name. ]
No, it's- it's no trouble-- how did you, you do that?
Do-? [ Desmond glances back in the direction of the fleeing ghost, then back to this stranger, rubbing the back of his head. The other spirits jockey for his attention, gathering up the nerve to try something similar. ]
I don't... really know? They gave me the power to heal, but I still don't get how being able to close a papercut lines up with ghostbusting.
