[ It had worked once before, back in the heat of late summer in Asgard, so Jade was trying it again. She had dragged the sign out to the front of the store, right in the middle of the sidewalk, and written in huge letters:

free hot chocolate! :D
just come inside ♥

The temperature hadn't broken the sixty degree mark today - it was getting chilly fast. Both Orihime and Annabeth were gone, and the store was oddly quiet. Jade will be found keeping herself busy throughout the day with odd little chores when it's completely empty of customers - sweeping, dusting, and occasionally dozing in a booth near the door when the boredom becomes too much to bear. ]

Mmhm! It wouldn't be nearly as nice if they were mean. [But civilization itself is such a great thing. Jane never thought she could miss it.] What about you? How is everything going?

Well enough, I suppose. I might be teaching a few courses soon--so I'll be kept busy. [Evy shrugs, cheerful.] You should sign up; we're going to have a proper school soon.

Really? You're a teacher, Miss Evelyn?

[And she pauses at the last part.] Oh, gee. I hadn't given a single thought to school, but why would there only be one now? Doesn't Asgard have its own children?

A librarian, actually. But I can teach, and I could use a bit more to do here.

I'm not sure about the native children, but at least the younger Travelers will have somewhere to go.

[Nods,] How interesting! I suppose I could give it a try, though I was hoping to find some work, actually. A friend of mine from home has an apartment here and I'd like to move in with her, but not if I can't pull my own weight. Do you think I'll have time for that AND school?

Hmm. [Most people she's known picked one or the other, after all.] If you're diligent about your studies, I suppose you might. Perhaps if you only took one course, you'd manage.

You can do that? Only take one course I mean - that sounds like something you could do in college!

I don't see why not! You aren't required to take any classes at all--there's no reason it should be all or nothing.
