Not really sure how to feel about it
Who: Stiles and Rachel
What: Date night
When: 414
Where: Gefion Park
Rating: R. Not sure what's exactly going to happen, but there'll likely be gratuitous amounts of sickly sweet schmoopy stuff and kissing at the very minimum. If it bumps up, I'll change the rating.
It had taken a little finagling and coercion, but he'd made sure that they both had A) the night off, B) the next day off, C) that she hadn't made plans with anyone else for that night, and D) that Hale was being babysat for a day. That left him with the whole day to plan for what he was going to do. He'd gotten a lot of really good suggestions from his little net he'd thrown out on the network, so he was kind of glad he'd done that. Otherwise he wouldn't have really thought of a picnic and he wouldn't have gotten her favorite foods out of it. (THANK YOU, ALICE)
So he'd made a picnic basket, complete with containers with waffles and bacon in them (eggs didn't really travel well). Lots of bacon, and a few sausages thrown in for good measure. Some toast and cut up fruit as well (hey, she liked breakfast food. he was going all out), and a container with syrup that he planned to warm up for her before she put it on. A bottle of a fruity sparkling white wine that the seller had told him would go well with what he had in mind rounded out their little meal. He'd paid the carriage guy a little extra to keep the basket stashed in the carriage they'd be riding in so he wouldn't be stuck carrying it around for their date until they needed it.
Then came the flowers. He still got a little dizzy trying to figure out all the languages of it that Alice had tossed at him, but what he'd gotten from their chat was bright colors and certain ones that said 'I love you'. Orange lilies for 'I burn for you', daffodils for 'the sun is always shining when you're around', red tulips for 'declaration of love', a single blue violet for 'I'll always be true'... and just because they'd always seemed like happy flowers to him, he got some daisies in an array of colors to spread through it.
Bouquet in hand, he was dressed in Stiles chic; tshirt with a plaid overshirt and khakis. He'd gotten her to promise that she'd be waiting in her room, so that was where he went, wondering why the hell his hands were sweating when he went to knock on her door. God, it wasn't like they hadn't done like... stuff. Lots of stuff. In lots of positions and times and... ahem. So why did he feel like his heart was doing a little tap dance in his chest?
Taking a deep breath, he steadied himself and knocked, cheesily hiding the bouquet behind his back.

[He kind of loves when she does that. The fussing and the fidgeting with his clothes. He doesn't know why, but it's just a small intimate thing that he's come to really enjoy.]
So, basically, I'm your weakness. Got it. Marking that down.
no subject
You are my weakness, it's true. I'll fully admit to that. [ and we're back ] You're both ends of the spectrum, though. [ it's almost like saying "you're everything" but not quite ] Weird how that can be a thing, isn't it? You can be my weakness just as easily as you could be my strength. Or, you know, whatever. [ because that was cheesy as hell. but, they were cheesy, so. maybe that's okay. ]
no subject
You are so cheesy, you know that? Here I am, wooing you, and you're trying to woo me back.
no subject
[ she leans back so she can look at him again, eyes narrowed and suspicious ]
Are you learning how to read minds and not telling me? I feel like that's something you should have told me.
no subject
[And now she gets a kiss on her nose.]
no subject
[ good one. her nose scrunches up with that kiss, like a happy bunny or something, which she knows first hand what that looks like now that they've been to the petting zoo. ]
I love you, Stiles Stilinski. I don't think I've said that enough in the last- since you picked me up for our date, so. I love you, I love you, I love you.
[ she might be acting cheesy on purpose now, even if she does mean it ]
no subject
[Totally not true. If he was going to get a grey hair, it'd be from almost dying. Or dying. Or dying again.]
no subject
no subject
[Simple. Just like that. He wanted this to be something she could remember instead of what had happened earlier. Maybe if he could do something big enough, something special enough, she'd forget all about it.]
no subject
[she's allowed to spin it back on him, for sure. using words like 'special', however accurate, is cheesy. ]
This is really special, though. To me. Even if I tease you about worrying over it, it does really mean a lot. I mean, nobody's ever- [ sniffsniff. ] - surprised me with plans like this. [ sniff ] Or got me flow-ers, hey. [ snnnnniiiiiff ] Do you smell that? I thought it was just the sweet shop at the edge of the park, but I can still smell it. It's like- syrup. Sugary something.
no subject
[He tapped said nose, then gave it a pinch, grinning as he tried to tuck the blanket more around her.]
No sniffing.
no subject
[ he pinches her nose and she laughs, looking around the carriage a little bit, like there's something she might've missed. which means he'll have to be pretty aggressive about bundling her up, but maybe that's the point ]
What are you hiding and why does it smell so good. Does it have something to do with the finger foods?
no subject
You'll find out. Stop being so nosy.
no subject
[ nosy. but that bite on her chin makes her crumble, lips chasing his for a kiss before she settles against him again, trying to ignore the sweet sniffs that are trying so hard to be sniffed right now. she can wait. she can so wait. ]
-- So if you were to put a timer on when I'll be finding out the next secret...?
no subject
[He'd timed it so that they'd be setting up their picnic when the sun started to set so she'd have something pretty to look at.]
no subject
no subject
[He feigned a pout, lower lip sticking out and everything.]
no subject
[ she's still curled up with her head on his shoulder, and she just rubs her hand over his chest instead of actually sitting up to look. so comforting, so concerned ]
Poor baby.
no subject
[But it was hard to argue when he was definitely fake-pouting. But it turned easily into a smile and he just settled in to enjoy the quiet and the ride with her, wondering how long this little moment of peace would last before the next catastrophe came crashing down on them.
The ride went on about the circuit it had planned before coming to a stop at the spot Stiles had asked, the driver tapping on the ceiling to let them know they'd arrived.]
We're here. Hey, come on. Up and out. Get that cute butt moving.

I'm out, Miss Impatience. Now, let's go find the place I picked and we can get onto the next phase.
no subject
Whatcha got there, Freckles?
[ totally innocent ]
no subject
[He pulled her a little closer so he could lay a kiss against all those curls, then kept walking with her up to a hill on the park he'd picked, one that faced the way the sun set and where they could get a good view.]
no subject
when they hit the top of the hill, Rachel's kind of just looking out over the horizon, eyes still squinted, but in a less "oh geeze wasn't prepared for that" way. it's just so she can keep looking out over everything, and, predictably- ]
I love how everything looks this time of day. It's really beautiful, isn't it? I love sun flares, I almost wish I brought my- wait. [ a beat, then she's grinning, holding onto his arm a little tighter ] You planned this. You wanted to be here by sunset, didn't you?
no subject
[He grinned, stopping them when they got to the top of the hill. Setting the basket down, he took the blanket and shook it out, then laid it down so they had something to sit on. He held out his hand for her, wanting her to sit first before he set everything out around her.]
My lovely little strawberry pop tart, would you like to take a seat?
