DAY 578 ( MAR. 1/2 )

The Grey Sickness is officially declared gone and Asgard begins tearing down its walls.

DAY 580 ( MAR. 5/6 )

Honir permanently opens the portal for travel between canon worlds and Yggdrasil. Henceforth, any character can come and go as they please.

DAY 583 ( MAR. 11/12 )

Frigg gives any willing Travellers the ability to redesign the earth through expressions of emotion or art. Asgard has a huge tree-planting party with blessed water to encourage faster growth.

DAY 585 ( MAR. 15/16 )

Small councils are formed with Travellers at the head of them to begin rebuilding the new kingdoms around the world.

DAY 590 ( MAR. 25/26 )

New Giants are born neutral of any bias for people to bring into the world with the Lokis as their Kings.

DAY 600 AND ONWARD

He waits until Riley and Ellie have had their happy ending, waits til the joy settles and people start making plans, and then one day Ellie will have Maglor drop by with a plate of berry cakes.

"Hello ercasse, how do you?"

"What's up, Mags?"

Seems like Ellie's gone and adopted Riley's nickname for him, and she takes Jackson's collar to back him away from the door. He listens well these days, but not when someone has food.

"Holy shit, those smell amazing."

[bythewaves]

"Hello boy" Maglor laughs at the enthusiastic greeting and lifts the plate out of reach.

"Just coming by to wish you well. Will you go home first or stay?"

[tonsofpun]

"Stay for a little while."

Pulling open the door farther, she waves Maglor in, letting go of Jackson once she can shut the door behind him.

"I've gotta swing by home and finish something up, but once it's taken care of, I'm coming right back here."

[bythewaves]

"If you like" Maglor smiles in answer and comes in, nodding.

"Good - Riley did not wish to make you choose one way or the other, but I did not think you would let her go, now that you have found each other. We will have to have a proper celebration when you are back, I think."

[tonsofpun]

"She knows how important it is."

The smile fades for a second, but into something much more thoughtful. "... we really- thought we were going to lose each other again."

[bythewaves]

"Mm" Maglor nods, understanding, sympathy in his eyes. He would have fought tooth and nail for his young ones, but he is glad that he did not have to, in the end.

"I am glad that you did not."

[tonsofpun]

"... you guys- will you look out for her while I'm gone?"

Reaching up, she rubs at the back of her neck, as if she's used to carrying something, finally able to sit up straight.

"She acts tough, but she needs people. She gets down on herself if somebody isn't there to keep her talking."

"We all will, I am sure." Maglor assures her with a smile.

"But I think you will find, that the wait will make things sweeter for her - now that she knows that you are returning."

A wry grin and he adds "Although you may also find that the honey cakes she likes so much are a factor. I will endeavor not to overfeed her before you return"

"Honey cakes, huh?"

Ellie leads him over to the kitchen, nudging back one of the chairs, then catching it with her toe to pull it back under her as she sits.

"You're gonna make her fat, and then I'm gonna have to roll her everywhere."

"I am" He agrees merrily "So you had best take that as motivation not to dawdle overly, lest she be unrecognisable on your return!"

Sighing deeply, Ellie scratched behind Jackson's ears, smiling despite herself.

"Like I'd give a shit."

[bythewaves]

"You might, if you have to actually roll her everywhere" Maglor retorts "Your arms would surely grow tired!"

"That's where you come in, isn't it? It'd be your fault in the first place!"

She breaks down laughing -- and this keeps going. It's a release of energy, close to tears, all relief and happiness. It's heartbreaking, and wonderful.

[bythewaves]

He laughs with her, low and deep, a soft rumble of sound rather than anything bright and brilliant although it is no less heartfelt for that, and he reaches across to tousle her hair fondly.

"Ah now, are you telling me your beloved is not good enough to steal her favoured cakes from me? But I accept that I will have a part in it and will certainly assist you if I can."

"Her? Steal?"

Ellie tries very hard to look shocked and dismayed. Is it working? ... probably not.

[bythewaves]

"Ah, should I use the word 'liberate', instead?" He teases back

"Really, of all the powers to give her our hosts had to give her the one that would enable her to pinch my cooking with ease!"

[tonsofpun]

"Don't feel bad, she's stolen way weirder shit, from people who would do way worse if they caught her."

Ellie doesn't even try not to sound proud.

[bythewaves]

"Somehow" Maglor says dryly "I am not surprised"

He chuffs softly. "You, as well, I would guess. But ai, that is unfair of Asgard, to give her such an advantage!"

Which is not to say he makes it easy for her.

"I only steal what I can't get by asking, and it's more like borrowing."

Shrugging, Ellie giggles, then reaches for the plate Maglor brought over.

"Thanks for coming over, by the way. It's quieter around here these days."

He surrenders the plate easily and smiles at her.

"I think most folk are headed home, particularly those with work to do, eh? But I am glad to be able to see you off."
