[She's barely visible at all that day. It's evening by the time he manages to find her. She's only briefly visible, working on something in the kitchen at an odd hour. She had a hounded look, and was watching around herself furtively, her eyes rimmed with red and her shoulders slumped.]

[He wasn't entirely going to get that option. Her head swiveled, eyes narrowed and aware of his presence. She felt her lip twitch before she simply sighed and looked back to what she had been doing.]

Please don't stare. It makes me uncomfortable. What do you need?

[Her eyebrow raised at that. The tail behind her lashed and she had a suspicious look on her face as she stared at him. She advanced straight towards the young man and took a very long sniff of the air as she burst any sort of personal space that he had. This close, there was a very faint hint of sulfur in the air, the lingering aroma of pheromones and the very light smells of desire, mostly washed away.]

Why do you want to hang out with me?

[She looked at him straight in the eyes, frowning. He was lucky that he'd missed the feed, to be honest. But right now, she had a fairly brusque attitude to her, sniffing to try and detect any hints of desire in him, however faint. Her senses weren't as good as she'd like, but she could usually still learn something, if for no other reason than she took people by surprise.]

[There's not really any desire in him. Other than wanting to be her friend, and maybe a faint desire to run, but it's held in check by his courage. Since now he understood why he was asked to befriend this girl.]

[She stepped back to what she considered to be a proper distance between them, far enough that her fool of a tail couldn't reach him and grunted. Turning back to the stove, she resumed fussing.]
