[OPEN DARKNESS EVENT LOG][DAY/NIGHT 130]

Who: ERRYONE IN ASGARD
What: All of Day 130, day and (early) night!
When: Day 130, day and night
Where: EVERYWHERE
Rating: PG-13, if any worse let me know

[Day: You survived. That was... horrifying. And you don't think you've ever been so happy to see the sun rise the next morning. Things are worse for wear, and you need to get more supplies just in case something else comes.

But wait- halfway through the day, and suddenly the sun is gone? Where did it go, and how is it night so early?

Night: Careful. The terrors of last night are back, and now are even in more of a frenzy than before. More crazed, more dangerous, and wanting to destroy everything they come across. Hope you can keep your eyes open.]

Daytime - Just after Darkness (Closed to Painwheel)

The sun was gone, just gone. Samantha had been lurking in the darkness, moving silently along the edges of town. Avoiding the monsters, the droves of mad people, had been anything but simple. However, just enough light, just enough supplies and her general ability to survive in the worst of situations had kept her up until this point.

In this moment, even if she could see reasonably well in the dark, she knew that all bets were off. She was really in a dangerous spot, and it was clear that until this was over the darkness would not simply subside.

"Shit," she growled, looking at the looming edifice of Hel House not far away. She'd sought it out, looking to try and scrounge something for now, not feeling safe in her home. However, now it loomed ominously.

Painwheel had stayed inside that night, locking herself up and hoping that everything would pass until the following day. While she was completely capable of defending herself, she really preferred to keep out of the mess until the sun came out so she could really get a sense of what had happened.

But, when the sun doesn't appear, Painwheel's curiosity gets the better of her. She dresses herself in her mask and her torn up hospital gown that she had arrived in, the one from the Anti Skullgirls Labs, and quietly snuck out the front door, crawling on all fours. Though, crawling may be the wrong word for it, because Painwheel's actually quicker while scuttling about than she is just on her legs.

She's heading in Samantha's direction, being quiet enough to avoid the monsters but loud enough for a person to see her.

"Jesus!" she hissed out in a whisper as she lunged backwards, claws snaking out just as the scuttling reached the point where she could almost make it out, but not quite. What she saw crawling on the ground looked way too much like the taken for comfort, despite the sense of familiarity to it all. "Stop right there!"

She was keeping her voice to a very low hiss, one barely audible at the edges of the light that surrounded the half breed. She was on high alert, having heard more the scuttling than actually seen Painwheel. "Who's there?"

Was someone there? Painwheel hadn't noticed anyone until she heard yelling and cursing. Though the voice sounded like Samantha's, so she decides to respond. Though if it isn't her, she's also ready to attack, her wheel on her back poised for slicing and dicing.

"It's Painwheel," she says in her normal, raspy tone, "Is that Samantha?"
samantha_grey: (What the?)

Talking. Talking was a very good sign. Samantha breathed a little more easily when the strange, scuttling thing spoke in Painwheel's voice, though she didn't retract her claws. "Yeah, it's me," she said carefully, her tone pitched much lower now. "You scared the crap out of me, Painwheel. I didn't know you moved like that."

She stayed low, but stood up on her back legs. She understood why Samantha was freaked, but for combat, being on all fours is just easier for her. She crawls over a bit slower, taking Sam's side.

"I don't have a reason to 'move like that' normally." She responded, seeming a bit embarrassed and a little bit annoyed at being seen. "It's just the way I fight, I guess, makes it easier to use the wheel."
samantha_grey: (Oh?)

Samantha looked her over quietly and then nodded. "No skin off my hide. You're not taken, so that's what matters," she grunted and reached up to run her fingers through her hair, sighing. "We shouldn't stay here any longer than we have to. What's that wheel you were talking about?"

She gets back down on all fours, and in an instant, her wheel curls up and strikes at the air in front of her, just as a demonstration.

"That's what I meant. Anyway, going anywhere will be safer if we're together," She says, still not quite trusting Samantha, but she's willing to take the risk rather than be alone with these creatures about, "Where to?"

two options. Make for a shelter, or go hunting for supplies and make a shelter. Option b was a thousand more to Samantha's tastes, even if it meant being alone with a very strange woman. "Let's shoot for the castle, see if we can find some supplies along and near the main road. I ... know a place that didn't get much use until recently," she said, glancing to the side. "We could try holding up in the basement for a bit, gather our thoughts."

Good enough for her. Heading over to the castle will give Painwheel plenty of chances to figure out exactly what happened here. And by the sound of it, it doesn't seem like Hel house will be safe for much longer. Plus, having company will be better than going alone. Three is a crowd, but with two, they can watch each other's backs.

"That sounds like a good plan. Lead the way."

She nodded and took up point, shutting the light off. She flicked a small light on her side on and kept it inside her pocket. "If that flickers, don't keep quiet about it. Otherwise, I see better if it's dark," she grunted. "I'll turn the light on if I hear movement. Conserve the batteries unless we need to use them."

It was a little risky, but at the same time supplies were too hard to come by right now.
