[Presumably, as he wandered the districts, Mordred would eventually find himself in Loki. There was a red-headed woman seated in front of the door to a small shop along a side street there. She was rolling up a cigarette of dark paper while watching to see if any customers stopped by.

Blood red eyes fixed around the area, though nobody else was visible. Trails of sweet smelling smoke flowed into the sky in thin lines. If she saw Mordred or not, she gave no immediate sign.
]

(OOC: Since he's being sneaky sneaky, figured I'd offer a chance to sneak past someone or meet them on his terms.)

[Mordred has tried to stick to side streets, to out of the way nooks and crannies through which he can hope to pass mostly undetected. For the most part no one seems to notice him. He can travel with his hood up and sticking to the shadows until he gets distracted by the scent of the smoke nearby.

In his distraction he missteps from between two crates, staring at the red-headed woman.]

[An inhalation and those blood red eyes latched onto him. It was hard for it not to be an almost baleful gaze, the color unsettling in and of itself. However, it was not long like that, though there was suspicion in those eyes and perhaps a little sympathy.

He looked no older than Arya.

She blowed a tendril of smoke up into the air in front of her and smirked, nodding to him.
]

Somebody prefers the shadows I see. Do the shadows prefer you too, or are you just the sneaky type?

[He frowns, straightening with his arms folded beneath his cloak. He'll not pretend he hasn't been caught.]

The shadows are friend to my people.

Handy trick. I prefer illusions. So, why you skulking around my shop kid?

[She kept a vague eye on him. Not really all that concerned, and a shade curious. Just another kid that these gods thought belonged in a fight. Did he have training at the least like Arya?]

Who're your people?

I did not know this was your shop...I do not know where I am.

[He pauses to regard the storefront fully now, before his gaze returns to her]

...Druids.

[Druids... Long dead where she lived. Did he mean the same people or something similar?

She concentrated, and switched to Primitive Irish. It had been the language of her spells, not the sort of thing one forgot easily. Her accent was thick, but understandable if he knew the language that fathered the Celtic tongues of the isles.
]

The Druids are long dead where I come from, boy. I wonder. Are we speaking of the same?

[She looked at him curiously, her eyes narrow. Most of the suspicion was gone now.]

.....

[His eyes flick upwards when she speaks, frown setting deeper]

I hope we are not. But if they are, then I am dead with them, and I cannot answer your question.

[Hearing someone else speak the language was strange to her. It was like hearing her mother all over again. She wasn't sure if she was happy, or had just been punched in the gut. It was a very bittersweet thought to hear a tongue she'd only ever heard her use.

Cocking her head, she thought about what he said. It brought a faint smile to her lips and a snort of a laugh.
]

Unless you think to live forever, I would not worry. It has been a thousand years since they walked as a people in my world.

[She coughed, blowing up a tendril of smoke before putting out the last fragments of her cigarette. Being conversational in the tongue took work. It slowed her speech down and made her feel a little dull in the head. Better to use whatever these gods had shoved in her head, at least for now.]

You want something to drink, kid? I can brew up some tea easy enough.

[Mordred does not know what to make of her response. What does one say to being told you may have been a thousand years dead to someone else. While all things die in turn and well Mordred knows that and understands it as a part of his master's teachings, it is still one thing to know and understand, and another to know that you have gone that way already.

He hesitates]

I've not had tea before.

I'll spare you the Affadil variety I'm working on then. It'd put you off tea forever. Trust me. I know a nice, easy to drink one. It's warm, and the air here's not exactly the warmest.

[Green tea. Definitely Green tea. Something light and easy to drink. She tried to give him a re-assuring smile as her tail thumped lightly on the steps she was sitting on.

At least he wasn't freaking out because of the horns and tail. That was a victory.
