Who: Anyone! Poketopia workers, visitors, customers, ect.
What: Right what it says on the tin: an open log at the Pokemon-themed cafe, Poketopia! There's gonna be a seperate thread for new workers, but otherwise you can go crazy. Order food! Check out the cute girls in maid outfits! All that jazz. If you're interested in applying OR want to see the menu, the cafe info/signup post is here!
When: All day on day 115!
Where: Poketopia cafe in Sigyn district!

"Welcome to Poketopia!"
 

[ those are the first words that your character will hear upon entering the red and white-decked cafe interior. the smell of baked goods has filled the air, and bustling male and female workers are busy waiting on tables and rushing back to the kitchen for new orders.

on the windowstills, flower pots have berry plants growing in them. cards are next to the plots, giving the names of the berries and their flavours. feel free to try one -- just stay away from the spicy berries, unless you want to breathe some fire.

don't feel as hungry as you thought? relax and kick back in the lounge portion of the cafe. you won't be able to order food, but our waiters and waitress will happily get you something to drink. but if you do feel like eating something, take a seat! your server will be with you momentarily with our full menu. ]

It's fine... I think it might be better like this.

[ Pikachu's ears perk up and his eyes widen. How dare you. Obviously appalled, the Pikachu places both paws over his mouth. ]

[It's hard to take that reaction seriously when Pikachu is - well, Pikachu - but she does feel badly for him.]

I'm sorry, Pikachu. It must be hard to lose something that's a natural part of who you are.

[ Pikachu sighs but handwaves it since it isn't... that big of a deal. Going to pull on the sides of his bow tie, too. ]

He would probably use it for the wrong reasons.

Dangerously, you mean? I can see how something like that could be very dangerous. I just can't imagine living in a world where regular animals have powers like that.

... It's actually not all too different from here.

Except more Pokemon and they help around--like Machokes with construction. [ Pikachu launches himself at Nakama!! And lands on her shoulder. ]

[She almost jumps away in shock, but when she realizes that the Pikachu isn't attacking but showing affection, she forces herself to stay in place. He's a warm, soft little bundle on her shoulder, and she can't resist lifting an arm to scratch his head again.]

They have jobs, you mean? I guess some animals have jobs in my world, too, but nothing like construction. What does a Machoke look like?

They look like... Wrestlers. [ YEAH. He doesn't know how else to explain it, really. But Pikachu squeaks some more pikapi! as he stays on Nakama's shoulder, nuzzling into her hand while pawing it at the same time. ]

Creature wrestlers. [ You can just imagine it for yourself. ]

Wrestlers. [It's hard to tell if she's nonplussed or just confused.] So they're not all based on animals? Some of them are closer to people?

[ hmm... He rests his head on his knuckles while thinking a bit. ]

Yeah... There are some that kind of look humanoid. [ He nods a couple of times and Pikachu mimics him. ]

Do you know if there are any books in the library about Pokemon? I'd love to see pictures of more of them.

I think... They have books that talk about old legends and some books that they teach kids in school that are planning to become trainers. [ Because they have those. ]

I have a Pokedex if you want to take a look at it? [ Pikachu nods a couple of times and jumps off to go fetch it despite how Nakama hasn't even answered. ]

Pokedex? What's that?

It's like... a Pokemon encyclopedia, basically. [ Nodding a couple of times. ]

But it isn't complete since new Pokemon seem to appear every turn.

Oh... that sounds really cool. Do all trainers carry them?

[competition]

Not all... Only a couple do because we're helping Pokemon Professors. [ And Pikachu returns! Toddling on his hind legs over to Nakama with the device. ]

Mine is a bit outdated, but it's still something.

Thank you, Pikachu. [She feels a bit silly talking to an animal like that, but she has to keep reminding herself that he understands. It would be rude not to.

She figures out the interface pretty quickly, and soon enough she's scrolling through with wide eyes.]

They can really do these things? [As cute as they are, it's the descriptions that fascinate her.]

[ Pikaaachu! as a you're welcome! But Pikachu is going to jump back over to Red's side and point out that his bow tie is messed up. FIX IIIT. Yeah, Red is going to tend to that. ]

Yeah, they can--though they can do a lot more than just what the entries say... [ There you go, Pikachu. Your bow is all fixed. ]

[She continues scrolling through, her expression thoughtful.]

So those are the ghosts... they don't look how I expected.

[ With Pikachu lounging on his shoulder, he's going to stand up from his seat and walk over to her, peering over her shoulder to see which entry she's looking at. ]

What did you expect them to look like?

[She's looking at a Haunter right now, reading about it curiously.]

I don't know, really... but they look so solid, just like a normal animal. I guess I thought they'd be translucent or something. But it says this one can go through walls... and its hands aren't attached to its body. That's so weird...

... They like to play pranks, too. [ Pikachu looks uneasy as they're talking about ghosts and graveyards. Lavender Town was some creepy shit, okay? ]

It can be pretty scary since they can mask themselves. [ He had to get this Silph scope in order to see their true identities and stuff. At least the ones in the tower. ]

Mask themselves? How?

... They're ghosts. [ He thinks that really explains everything. ]

Oh... ghosts were just myths in my world, so I guess I don't know a lot about them.

Stories come from them in my world...

They're really playful though. [ Sometimes in a bad way. ] At least most of them.
