What: Someone thought it'd be nice to add some instant color to the drab walls of the city.
When: Day 123
Where: somewhere in Freya, not too far from the welcome hall
Rating: G, but may go higher depending on the threads.

[ When one finds his or herself wandering around the Freya district, he'll see that half of this one street has been covered in color. More specifically, paint. Bright hues of red, yellow, blue and green greet each and every passerby with the intricate yet pleasing shapes and patterns they form. Some are characters from cartoons from Japan. Others are inspiring quotes and proverbs written in Chinese and Korean. Many windows and doors have stuffed toys of the cute characters themselves to give the area a more welcoming feel. Why don't we just show you some pictures? ]

[ You'll find three individuals painting this work in progress. They look busy! But what's there to do in this corner of Asgard? You can comment on the little details of the paintings, or praise them for their work, even! Maybe you have a request for them to paint on the city buildings. Maybe you scold them because you think that - gasp - this is vandalism! Or maybe you can decide to be just as much of a vandal and ruin their masterpiece. ]

Ehehe, thank you... [ She's honestly so relieved! ] Romania, do you want me to paint something for you?

[Rather pleased with himself, Romania considers her offer.]

I suppose you wouldn't know what a Balaur is... [what.] How about a lynx? They are my national animal, you see.

A lynx is a sort of cat, right? I don't remember what it looks like very well... I don't see them very often. [ She smiles sheepishly. ] Oh, but I'm willing to try! Are they like leopards with pointy ears? They're like that, right?

I suppose that's a start. [He taps his chin. While Taiwan hasn't seen many lynxes he hasn't seen many leopards, so comparing the two is a bit difficult when he can't remember all the details either.]

Ah, if you don't mind so much, I may be able to draw a simple reference as a guide?

I'd love that! Go ahead. Ah. [ She takes something from a satchel lying on the ground - a small sketchpad with her ideas. She hands that and a pen to Romania. ] Here.

[Smiling widely when Taiwan offers the sketchpad and pen to him, Romania is about to start drawing when he conjures up a better idea.

Focusing hard, he manages to stand the pen on its own against the paper, the ink bleeding sightly into the page as he begins to carefully manipulate it with his mind. Overall, the task takes a bit longer than originally intended (Taiwan you might want to get back to painting for a bit to entertain yourself), and he may have used a couple of sheets after having messed up, but finally Romania snatches the pen midair before showing the final result with a grin.

(bluh bluh Brenda can't draw animals worth crap...)]

It has a fairly small head compared to the rest of its body, especially its paws. It is better suited for the snow that way.

WHY

No, no, Taiwan is going to sit right here and wait for him to finish. The result is a very good image, and Taiwan applauds him for his hard work. ]

Wah, I see, I see! [ She's clapping very much. ] Romania, how did you do that? Which house gets that power?

[The effort is definitely a bit tolling, Romania discretely wiping away the sweat from his brow as he answers.]

It's Loki who gifts it. [He peers over at her curiously.] I suppose Hong Kong doesn't have it? I've seen him around the house; I can only assume he's a member, or that he yearns enough to be one.

[ She laughs. ] He doesn't! He has the power to read other people's minds, though. Oh, but yours is way cooler! Can you do it again?

Life must have gotten more boring for him, then. [He chuckles lightly.] That would make things too predictable, don't you think?

[It would certainly help for strategizing, but for practicality it falls a bit short.

Being in a good mood with enough energy to spare, Romania nods before concentrating on a nearby paintbrush. The item begins to float in midair, dipping itself into some nearby paint before proceeding to draw whiskers on the nearest rabbit.]

Ooh! [ Taiwan claps with much enthusiasm after he paints the whiskers on. Do more, do more! ...is what she would say, but what Romania said gets her thinking. ]

I don't think I'd like reading the minds of others very much. There are some things people want to keep to themselves, you know? Knowing everything... [ She laughs nervously. ] is a little scary.

[ She crouches down to reach for a brush and a can of paint to start on that lynx. ]

[Romania pauses in what he's doing for a bit to watch Taiwan, turning her words about in his head.]

And I suppose that's why you don't have that power yourself. [It's frank but true, isn't it? It seems as if their abilities reflect their personalities to a degree, and so it makes sense to him that Taiwan doesn't possess something so invasive.]

What do you have, exactly?

Ah. [ How blunt!!! But it's okay... she smiles. ] Charm! Kaito said I didn't need it, though.

[He chuckles at that.] He may very well be right.

But charm seems to be a popular choice. Are you sure you didn't plan this in advance?

No, silly! I couldn't have talked to the gods like that. I wish I did get a more useful power, though. Like healing!

How about you, Romania? Do you like your power?

It seems like a mixed bag. I know that Japan has a tricky power too.

[By then he's lazily adding whiskers to all of Taiwan's cats, though he pauses and looks thoughtful at her question.]

I do. It's certainly useful when it wants to be.

[Watch out Taiwan, Romania will try to use the paintbrush to dot your nose.]

But I wouldn't mind trading it for another! I've heard there are some that can control other people's bodies.

[ When the paintbrush touches Taiwan's nose, she shuts her eyes, scrunches her nose up and giggles. ]

Ooh, that sounds fun! If I had that power, I would make Teacher do silly things! But don't tell him, okay? Ahaha! What would you do with it?

Oh? But that isn't specific at all! How am I supposed to keep a secret of what I don't know?

But me? I would have someone help me prepare dinner for all my guests. [Cooking can be hard work, especially when most visitors don't even warn him when they're coming in advance...] Or maybe assist me in performing exorcisms...

Yes, preparing dinner is hard, but--eh? [ Why do you even need to control people to help you? More importantly, ] Exor...cisms?

Sometimes you need more energy to counteract the adverse effects!

It'd be inconvenient if the ritual took a bad turn and the spirit possesses someone else, yes?

[Forget the fact that he'd technically be possessing someone already, but those are unnecessary details.]

What you'd be doing is twice as dangerous!

[ Err, back to the painting. ] Um, am I doing okay?

Only if you don't know what you're doing.

But hm? [He glances over to Taiwan's current canvas, nodding enthusiastically with a smile.] It's looking wonderful so far! Very playful...

Are leopards playful?

Yes! I used to play with them lots when I was little. [ Even when the villagers told her not to. ]

... Ah! Aren't lynxes playful, too? [ Did she make a mistake!? ]

I see! No wonder you are how you are. [Romania what does that even mean.]

And they are, but I'm sure all cats can be considered playful. They would just have to find the right company, yes?
