Are you alright?
[Physically, mentally, in general.]
no subject
No.
[It's said tiredly.]
no subject
Neither am I.
[He can admit it to her.]
no subject
Instead, she's quiet, to let the tears well in her eyes before she blinks them away, drawing in a deep breath to speak.]
You were very brave.
no subject
[He says it softly, but incredibly sincerely. He's used to fighting and death, but this is new to her, and she had still done so incredibly well.]
I am sorry you had to be involved in this.
no subject
[It's quiet as she gently moves her fingers up and down his ribs. She has no more energy left to help the pain, but she can hope.]
And even if you did, it would be worth it.
no subject
[He says it softly, not scolding. But he can handle pain and he doesn't want her to push herself too far with her powers and hurt herself. He's quiet for a few moments before speaking again.]
Once we have all recovered, I think it would be wise if you received some hunter training.
[Just very basics; how to shoot, some tactics, a little hand-to-hand. He doesn't want her to be caught offguard again next time something like this happens.]
no subject
I don't know if I could do that.
[It's quiet.]
Shoot something.
no subject
[He understands her hesitation, and he can't imagine her killing something either. But he doesn't want her to be defenseless, and he also believes that to protect someone else she could and would shoot something.]
no subject
I want to go home.
no subject
I'm sorry.
[He finally says it again, not knowing what else to say.]
no subject
[She draws in a shaking breath before she reaches up with a hand to wipe at her eyes, trying to get a grip.]
It's... it's everything, and I wish I could hit the pause button so I can breathe. Everything is such a blur and I'm not...
[She curls into his side a little more as she draws up her legs, so that her heels rest against his legs and her knees are almost at her chest, trying to find some measure of calm.]
I don't want to leave this room ever again.
no subject
[He doesn't feel particularly interested in leaving either, though he has things he needs to do. It would be so nice to just stay in here, quiet and safe, forever.]
You can take the time necessary to recover.
no subject
Distantly, she realizes she probably has some sort of post traumatic stress disorder, and with time, she'll feel better, but that hardly helps now.]
Can you stay here today?
[It's quiet.]
no subject
Daphne is more important that anything else at the moment.]
I can.
no subject
Will you?
no subject
[He responds, voice just slightly lighter as well, and he loosens his grip slightly.]
However I cannot spend the entire time with you sitting on me.
[The knee he messed up through damage draining is starting to protest.]
no subject
Do you need another blanket?
[She supposes she should have asked that before she got comfortable, but she can happily go get him another one if he needs it.]
no subject
He huddles under the blankets and lays down a bit, putting an arm around her once again, but shakes his head.]
I'm fine.
[And he is, in this regard at least; he'd stolen a hoodie of Sam's to wear, and it was big and soft and warm. He really needs some of his own but he hates shopping for clothes.]
You should try to sleep.
no subject
[She leans forward just enough to touch their noses together with a genuine smile, amused at his suggestion, before she simply settles in to watch him.]
But you won't.
no subject
[He'd just end up waking her up from the dreams.]
no subject
I wouldn't mind.
no subject
I know, but I do.
[He doesn't want to be responsible for disrupting her rest. Besides, neither of them would get any that way.
He does, though, have a compromise.]
We can take turns.
no subject
Good idea.
[And she kisses him gently on the forehead.]
You can go first.
no subject
You need it more than me.
[He's not sure if that's true or not, but it sounds like a good argument.]
