[minifridge]

[She stops by late in the day, when she's exhausted beyond reason and only needs to catch maybe 20 minutes of sleep and make sure the home front is safe. In the kitchen, she finds the new girl who's been tending their mutual sleeping friend (with a crossbow, which earns Mary's instant stamp of approval).

She waves awkwardly.]

Hi. It's Mithian, right?

[burping]

[ Having set the crossbow on the counter (unloaded), she's rummaging for anything that she can put together as a plate of food for those who trickle in. After all, she's never had to cook for herself in her whole life.

She smiles to the woman in greeting, her own expression weary but not nearly as tired as those who have been fighting.]

Yes. I'm afraid I... I don't I've had the honor of meeting you.

[minifridge]

[Of course not. Mary keeps odd hours sometimes, with and busies herself with work, and these last few days have been insane. She sticks her hand out.]

I'm Mary. My room is right down the hall.

[A smile.]

I'm the one who made the signs.

[The little signs and cards stuck seemingly everywhere in the apartment, reminding intrepid users not to put anything in the outlets other than plugs, not to put metal in the microwave, and to use the sink after using the toilet.]

... I was missing a word in that last sentence. whoops.

[burping]

[When Mary offers her hand, Mithian looks at it for a moment, confused before she takes it to shake. She never really shook hands with anyone. But she smiles to show that it's nothing against Mary.]

Mary, it is good to meet you. [But at the mention of the signs, she smiles a bit wider.] I'm afraid those have been most useful for me. I am still adjusting to-- [She waves her hands around to indicate the room.] All of this.

[When Mithian moves her hand in closer Mary moves hers for a proper handshake, not really counting on Mithan to know what to do. It's a little thing- one of many little, small things she's learned in a world full of Camelot. She returns that smile and squeezes her hand gently before letting go.]

Yeah? I'm glad they help. [A small chuckle.] Don't feed bad, though, you're definitely not the only one. I'm still the only one who can actually cook around here.

Perhaps you can teach me a few things? When it's all settled down. [ She'd like to be able to fend for herself, not have to rely on others so entirely so that they may rely on her.]

[minifridge]

Sure, yeah. Anything you want.

[Mary gestures at a free spot on the edge of Morgana's bed.]

Can I sit down?

[burping]

Of course you may. [She nods, watching her carefully.]

[minifridge]

[She can tell she's being watched, but whatever. She sits down anyway, laying a hand on Morgana's pillow.]

So, are you part of the court? How do you know them?

[burping]

I am not part of the court at Camelot but I am from the same place. I am a princess of a neighboring kingdom.

[minifridge]

Oh, okay.

Are you from the same time as them, or...?

[She's being a little nosy, but fuck if she isn't curious. The issues of Uther and Arthur, of Morgana- so many stories she's only heard snippets of.]

I have to say the time stuff was the weirdest for me.

[burping]

It... appears I am from a time... ahead of theirs? [It's so strange to say such a thing but...] I know things that have not come to pass. [She's a walking spoiler and life ruiner.]

[minifridge]

[She hums and idly taps Morgana's hand.]

That must be weird.

[burping]

I must say I feel like I'm walking on egg shells. I do not know what to say. [She sighs, softly.]
