[Day 275 is officially when ???'s off babysitting duty for his friend, so what does that mean? Staying out in the city as long as he can and making sure all his Teleport arrays are still in place. He has a web of movement he needs to maintain.

Which is why he's practically sprinting at Thor from out of nowhere. ...Actually, he placed the portal in a dead-end alley, and he's not paying too much attention when he ends up merging onto the main street. ???'s normally careful enough (to the point of seeming paranoid because he is), but he's got his headphones on with the music blaring into his ears. He's on a mission, but at least he manages to stop short just before crashing into the bigger guy.]

[ in a rare occurrence, thor is actually being observant. or, alright, he's really trying to be because he still just doesn't understand. taking in his surroundings is a rather large bite to chew because it is simply unexpected.

warrior instincts kick in when he hears the sound of feet running and he slows his walk to a near stop just in time to prevent a collision. thor's hand goes out—not touching, but only just—in case the boy is unsteady. his smile is a bit tense, if only out of internal struggles rather than external. ]

Apologies not necessary. Perhaps a bit of caution would lend to speedier travel.

[Yes good, ??? isn't a fan of physical contact, so it's easier to brush off the near-collision.]

Uhhh, sure. [He knew that.

But now he's getting a real good look at Thor. Considering how much he stalks the Network, this he's looking somewhat familiar beyond his focus on the tense smile. Not that he really cares on both points, but ??? ends up chuckling to himself.]

[ there is a moment of palpable silence and thor simply blinks at the question. then he laughs, actually laughs with honest mirth and good humor. ]

It takes much more than that to scare me, my friend.

[ hooooo boy. he could laugh about that a little bit more. but he tries to play it cool, lips slightly trembling at the corners in the grand effort he's making to not laugh again. he taps his own chest, shaking his head a little. ]

There may be some sort of sorcery over me to dampen my strength so I am not what I once was... It would still bring some harm running into me.

[At least he's laughing. If it had been anything else, ??? would immediately flip into defensive-jerk mode. (He does that too often.) ???'s able to smile more easily at that, letting his body loosen up from the run as he pushes his headphones down around his neck.]

Don't worry too much. The gods took away everyone's power and magic 'cause they don't work properly here. If you want them back, expect your head to explode.

Yeah, there's been people here who say that this place isn't the real Asgard. I think one of them was around my age?

[ at that, thor has to wonder who he means. off the top of his head, he cannot think of anyone young enough to have claimed such a thing first hand.

this, clearly, just raises more questions.

he nods in response to the question, lips pulling into another frown. ]

Aye. [ the real thor, ok. ] Who has made such claims of this not being Asgard?

Ummm...hold on. I can find him for you. [???'s turning on his bracelet now; the screen pops up, and he's immediately scrolling through the network posts.]

I try to monitor the Network daily, but I don't recall exactly who he is-- ah, there. [He should've guessed it more easily considering the teen's name is 'Loki'. ??? hasn't paid to much attention to him though. The only noteworthy point was that he was connected with a different Asgard.

He's turn the screen to Thor now, showing Loki's more recent posts.]

[ thor waits and then leans over to look. then there's nothing. he simply just stares blankly at everything.

it's... loki. but, not loki. even though he recognizes that, his heart still constricts in his chest. so many things race through his mind and he wonders—

well, he wonders a lot of things.

with a gesture to the screen and a softer tone to his voice, thor's brow furrows. ]
