That's too precise. Have you been marking the wall with chalk or-- [Woah wait a second there.] What do you mean, I was here before?
no subject
Just as I said. We've talked before, but it's not surprising you forgot since you were sent back. Time is a bit funny here. [He's pulling out a flower from the bouquet, idly picking away at its petals and tossing them to the ground below.]
It's supposedly stopped back home while we're here, and when we do get sent back, it's at the same point. No memories of Asgard leave this place either, but some do come back with or without the memories they made here. Funny how that works, huh?
no subject
[Jack is frowning again while watching the petals fall. It's funny to hear about that, but not shocking. He knows the "higher ups" tend to have a twisted sense of humor.]
They're messing with our memories... [Obviously a touchy subject for him.] And what do the Gods have to say about that?
no subject
no subject
no subject
They could mess with my memories as a curse, but I'd rather not spend all my time worrying about that. Besides, no one has returned here that I would care if their memories of this place were eliminated or not.
[Seeing as how Roxas and Lea have left but have not come back.]
no subject
[His initial comment about deities' habits is as true as it gets. For him at least. But now he shrugs.]
Not gonna blame you for not thinking about it, though. Live your life as it comes and all that jazz. Are you in this... house too?
no subject
He can't say much for the last bit either-- ??? doesn't really have a 'way' to live. Not just yet. Too many other things to think about.]
Loki's house? Yeah. I used to live in the Welcome Hall, but I've moved out.
no subject
The Welcome Hall is... the room where I woke up? So what, you're in the actual town now? If that's what we can call this place. [Location, location, location. Jack knew the Earth like the back of his hand, and know he doesn't know where he is at. So frustrating.]
no subject
[Just to be clear because he's been playing guide to Naruto. Clarifying more:]
The room that they gave you to stay in is called the God House, Welcome Hall, whatever you want to call it. The fridge gets restocked all the time, by the way. I moved into an apartment with a friend, though. Doesn't have to be in Loki's district as long as you can pay rent. But stay too long in another district, and you'll start getting paranoid.
Got all that?
no subject
He nods. So now instead of being weak to warmth he's weak to other houses. Lovely.]
Gotcha, thanks. [After some more thinking, he adds another question.]
How did you end up on the roof? [PRIORITIES]
no subject
Climbing. [Well, more like he managed to get on a nearby roof, set a teleport array, and everything works from there.]
There IS other magic besides the gods', by the way. Just none from home.
no subject
[He leaves his staff against the wall and just like ??? said, he starts climbing. He's a bit hesitant at first but gains speed quickly. He may not be able to fly anymore, but he's still one agile monkey.]
Yeah, yeah, new powers and all that jazz, save it. [He still is a bit grumpy about losing his original ones.]
no subject
Hey, I'm only saying because you were pretty impressed with the bomb I made. Technically it was supposed to be fireworks, but it's still cool.
no subject
He doesn't answer at first, too concentrated on finishing the higher part of the wall. When he finally reaches the roof, he stretches his arms and turns to ???.]
Alright, did anybody say bombs?
no subject
Magical bombs, thank you very much. [Okay, maybe he shouldn't shake them too much. He's not good with fragile things.]
Runic magic works with the land's magic, but it's difficult because you have to write the runes in the right placement and on the right object. That's why my fireworks turned to bombs accidentally.
no subject
[???, please. Though now that he's sounding younger and more relaxed, so Jack is reconsidering his initial impression of him.]
Do you have anything to work with cold?
no subject
jerk-modeside. He's more comfortable in it, but he does tend to flip-flop depending on the company.]When I said there's other types of magic, that kind of implies that you can learn it. [A shrug, then:] No, sorry. Runic magic IS helpful, but it can't replicate a god power. You'd have to be in Odin's to use Ice.
no subject
That's not how it usually works--
[Any kind of comment he had about his world and certain kinds of magic belonging to only certain kind of creatures gets lost when the rest of the information sinks in. He stares at ??? with his mouth hanging open, but surprise is quickly replaced by a frown and good ol' anger.]
The other house has Ice powers?!
no subject
[Teasing or not, ??? still manages to keep a smile and holds back from chuckling.]
Sorry, Jack, you're out of luck.
no subject
[Part of his mind registered the trickster bit, and later he'll kinda proud of it. But now? Now he's just angry. Ice equals fun in his book, how come the nerds got it? The scandal!
He wants to throws snowballs at something, to freeze his surroundings, to fly the fuck off - anything to work the frustration out. But he can't do that anymore. So instead he starts pacing up and down the roof, talking to himself, running his fingers through his hair every now and then.]
So much for the whole 'your powers don't work here' deal. What is even the point?
no subject
[That sobers ??? up a bit, although he's still observing Jack. It reminds him of his own first experience of having his normal functions shut down, but he was quick to find more things to occupy him for what he lacked.
That, and he's...never experienced a snow day. In Asgard, yes, but the term resonates more with Roxas' fake Twilight Town memories.]
Telepathy or Telekinesis?
no subject
[Jack finally gives up on pacing and lies down on the roof, stretched out like a starfish. A clear sight of the sky, and the Moon is nowhere in sight, of course, since still day time. He could wait - he and MiM would have a little talk when the night arrives. Well, if we can call that a talk.]
If I had Telepathy I wouldn't be asking question. What about you? You know me, my house and my power, but I didn't even get your name.
no subject
I don't have one, but you can call me whatever you want. Most people call me Access, though.
[He's picking out another flower again to take off its petals.]
no subject
[Jack doesn't surprised or weird out by that. Just neutral - and kinda curious.]
Why haven't you just chosen one then?
