"Again?" That sounded rather like it had a story attached to it... but it was one he could find out about later, maybe. "Oh, mmm, yes. Yes it is. Much better than those ghastly cricketing whites." Far too bland and boring for his tastes. He grasps his lapels fondly, one thumb stroking over the inevitable cat pin.

"Which one...? Ah, I see. Well, the me you traveled with would have been my second face, and this one is my sixth." And clearly a far more handsome one, and a much more commanding presence than that incarnation.

Cricketing whites? Jamie's brows arched up, disappearing into his bangs briefly. His Doctor had certainly never worn those, which made him wonder a little which one wound up in that particular outfit. Then again, at the rate Doctors were showing up around here, maybe he'd find that out at some point without asking anyway. However, he did nod - not so much because of the cricketing whites, in this case, but because the first part of what the Doctor had said had confirmed something he'd already been told.

"Aye, the one of ye I met here when I first arrived said that as well. That ye were the second one back then." Who he liked just fine, of course, especially since Two was a proper height and not too tall like half the Doctors around here seemed to be. He had to crane his neck to get a proper look at them sometimes, like right now, a curious expression crossing his face. "Hey, which House did ye wind up in, anyway?"

Be happy he's not his third self--or his fourth. If you think that this him is tall, you'd be amazed.

The Doctor frowns slightly with thought. So there is more than one him here. Figures... and not the one Jamie traveled with, either. Most interesting. "Which one is that, the one that you ran into?" If Jamie knows enough to ask what one he is, he'll probably know which one he ran into. "Oh... yes. I'm in House Baldr, apparently. What of you? Or my other self, if you know the answer to that one."

"Says he's your Eleventh."

Which still seemed like an awful lot of the Doctor to him, but if that was who he said he was, Jamie didn't doubt it's the truth. Besides, if the Doctor had minded Jamie finding out which one he was, he would've just said he'd explain later and never bothered getting around to it.

Shifting slightly, he moved to tuck his thumbs behind his belt, letting his fingers rest on his sporran as he nodded. "Aye, he's in Sigyn, along with one of the other ones of ye that's here. I'm in Thor, although I've no idea why. Something to do with strength, only I'd not wound up with that power. Baldr's got flight, doesn't it?"

"Eleventh, really? I've not met that one yet." He's surprised... and kind of a little bit dismayed that he's made it to that body. He knew it would happen one day, but still... that's getting a little too close for comfort to his Thirteenth.

"Hmm, I see they're keeping with the Norse theme." Well for all he knew, these were the beings that appeared to the Norse, claiming to be gods. "Does it indeed? Well, I'm glad I don't have that one." He was torn about telling Jamie about what his power supposedly was--the Scotsman might know more about it, but it was kind of... awkward. Regeneration... no, unless Jamie guessed, he wasn't going to say anything. There must be a way to find out what that was all about, if it meant anything other than the obvious, without asking any questions of anyone who knew him.

"Och, give him time. He'll turn up." Jamie has faith he'll appear sooner or later. Or they'll wind up talking to each other on the bracelet-thing or something like it. It's not that big of a city, after all. But he can't help a slightly amused-sounding snort at the idea of the Doctor being able to fly.

"Aye, me too. Could ye imagine the thought of one of ye flying about without a care in the world?"

It would be a sight - especially in that coat, which he wound up eying for a moment again. But in this case it didn't matter much, not if he wasn't able to fly. The problem was that Jamie wasn't too clear on all the powers in all the houses, and try as he might he couldn't think what the other one might be.

"I suppose the other one'll be just as useful, though. There's this thing called a 'Teacher's Council' they have here sometimes, where ye can train with your power if ye like. It's usually in the arena over in my district...er, in the Thor district. I've been practicing on my own more, though."

"Hmmm, if I know myself, I'm quite sure he'll do just that."

...and actually that's quite an amusing image. The Doctor can't help but smile a bit at it, thankful that he won't be flying anywhere anytime soon. "Yes, that would be a bit ridiculous, wouldn't it? But I think I'm a bit too grounded for that kind of thing." Thankfully.

And he was very grateful that Jamie didn't mention any other powers, which meant he didn't have to talk about it just yet. "Thor, eh? I really must see all these districts for myself... just how big is this Asgard, anyway?" Did it count as a proper city, and just how long would it take to give himself a quick walking tour?

That would be more than a bit ridiculous, and while he has a sneaking suspicion there's likely at least one Doctor out there who would probably enjoy flying like that, Jamie will just as happily accept this one as being grounded.

And, on a more literal level, having this Doctor not be able to fly makes it easier to do certain things - like getting to show off this city they're both living in now.

"Not as large as London, but large enough. There's a district for each house, and the castle ye came from in the middle. I could show ye about a bit, maybe, unless you've got already got something in mind you'd want to do."

Maybe there is, and honestly it could be useful in some circumstances... still, Six is pleased it's not his power. Other people are welcome to it, though.

"Mmm, a goodly size, then. Yes. I'd quite like a tour, if you'd be so good as to show me around." He certainly had nothing better to do, and in fact, if he'd been alone that's the thing he'd do after he got tired of trying to hack the bracelet. The fact that it's Jamie doing the tour-conducting is gravy.
