[The bracelet he'd been given upon arrival had changed. It took Inigo a while to notice, and a while longer to figure out what that meant, but - he was staying here? Probably?

He wasn't sure whether he liked that idea or not. It was kind of like a vacation, and there were a lot of pretty girls there, but at the same time he wanted to know how things would be at home. Would they succeed? Would the future be changed?

It seemed that he wasn't allowed to know that yet. It hung over him, but true to his nature, Inigo shook it off and managed a carefree smile. He needed to find where he'd be staying!

With a wink at the nearest pretty girl, Inigo strode through the streets, searching for his new temporary home.]

[ Jade has a cloth sack hanging from her wrist, some sort of paper in hand, and sort of flashes a smile at Inigo when he passes. New guy? Probably a new guy. The influx of people into the city had been incredible, but lost was lost and had to suck, period, and there was a certain aimless walk that people unfamiliar with the city had affected.

So she waves him down, smile on her face. ]

Hi! Did you just get here? I have maps!

[Did that girl just smile at him? Yes! Yes she did! Sure, she looks a little young, but that's no reason to be rude. He returns Jade's smile with a brilliant one of his own.]

Why, yes! I'm a rather new arrival. What a treat, to meet the prettiest girl here on my first day.

[nukeoleptic]

[ She cracks up visibly, one fluffy white dog ear flicking forward - she's amused. ]

I have maps for new people. I know this place can be a little disorienting.

[vapidfloozy]

[Laughter is... good, right? Or at least it's not OBVIOUSLY bad...]

You wouldn't happen to have a map to your heart, would you?

[ Hold on. Had he just --

Jade laughs again, pressing one hand to her face and trailing off with a soft woof before she cuts her eyes up to him. ]

Oh my god, that was adorable. Um - hold on, I learned some too - oh!

[ She snaps. ]

Damn, you with all those curves and me with no brakes!

[ But Jade is clearly still delighted as she passes over one of the maps of the city. ]

[Did she just... bark? Weird. But entirely beside the point!]

Oh, that's a good one! I'll have to remember that.

[He looks at the map. It'll take a little while before it really makes sense to him, since he's so new, but it's something, at least.]

I do appreciate the help. You seem to be quite knowledgeable.

I've been here a really, really long time. It'd be pretty embarrassing if I didn't know the city by now.

[ She flashes another earnest smile at him. ]

Um, do you mind if I ask your name?

My name is Inigo. Remember it, and make sure you tell all your pretty friends about me!

[He grins back.]

But, uh... how long have you been here?

[nukeoleptic]

Gosh, um - four seasons, and seasons last about half as long as here as they do at home, so - wait, are you from Earth? How do you reckon years?

[ She's not pausing, though, simply counting on her fingers, doing some calculations. ]

-- about two hundred and sixty two days, give or take.

[vapidfloozy]

I've no idea where Earth might be, but our years are 365 days. So you've been here quite a long time, then!

[That's... actually a little alarming, but Inigo keeps his smile bright.]

You must know all the pretty girls.

[nukeoleptic]

I know lots of pretty girls.

[ There's a note of amusement in her voice. ]

But I haven't finished screening you yet.

[vapidfloozy]

[Oh no! The pressure!]

There's no way I won't pass your screening! I'm charming and delightful. [Wink!] And I've been given some kind of energy transfer power, so there are all sorts of excuses to steal a kiss, you know.

Oh!

[ Her ears perk at that. ]

That means you're in-- Freya? Or Freyr? I get the two confused sometimes.

Freya, that's right! I haven't met her yet, though, but if she loves love, she must be stunning!

[A grin.]

How about you?

Sigyn. Here -- see?

[ She leans down and drags her fingers over the ground. Small blue-tipped flowers sprout from the dirt, following the trail of her finger. ]

[He watches, eyes widening a bit. The magic in his world isn't like that at all, and he hasn't seen much of people's powers here.]

Wow, that's pretty neat! Does it just grow flowers?

[nukeoleptic]

Nuh uh. I mean - my power has grown a lot since I first came here, I couldn't always do all of this stuff.

[ But she coaxes a long vine out of the ground - it's thorny, dangerous looking. ]

I can kind of make them do anything I want them to?

Huh! So I guess my power might grow too. Yours seems a little more useful.

[But he brightens, remembering.]

But mine lets me kiss pretty girls!

[nukeoleptic]

And also pretty boys!

[ Cheerfully. ]

[...he hadn't really thought about that.]

Oh. I guess them, too. But boys can't hold a candle to pretty girls! I know who I'd choose to kiss every time!

[nukeoleptic]

[ Her shoulders shake softly with laughter and she shakes her head. ]

What's so great about kissing? [ Leading him to his Welcome House!! XO ]

[He follows along, grateful for the guidance.]

Well... you know! It's romantic and all that! What's not great about it?

[He also pretty much never succeeds in getting kisses, so really... he wouldn't know.]

Sometimes people are bad at kissing.

[ Jade is just being contrary here, chattering idly as she walks. ]

Or maybe they eat a lot of onions.

What an awful fate. I assure you I'm not one of those people. My breath is always minty fresh.
