[OPEN LOG]
Who: Jade + literally anyone
What: Jade bribing people into her restaurant with free things.
When: Day 355.
Where: The Highwind, in Heimdall's district.
Rating: PG-13 for language at most!
EDITED TO ADD: Also, totally feel free to threadjack and use this as a mingle log IF YOU WOULD LIKE ♥
[ It had worked once before, back in the heat of late summer in Asgard, so Jade was trying it again. She had dragged the sign out to the front of the store, right in the middle of the sidewalk, and written in huge letters:
free hot chocolate! :D
just come inside ♥
The temperature hadn't broken the sixty degree mark today - it was getting chilly fast. Both Orihime and Annabeth were gone, and the store was oddly quiet. Jade will be found keeping herself busy throughout the day with odd little chores when it's completely empty of customers - sweeping, dusting, and occasionally dozing in a booth near the door when the boredom becomes too much to bear. ]

We should! Let me just get started on that-- how's it been, by the way? Decided you like babysitting better than the gossip rag business?

[Kids get the big brother and adults get asshole, guess where Ryan ended up? Jack uses telekinesis to move some tables and push them together. The kids don't waste a second and run to them to get themselves comfortable, taking out their jackets and throwing them on the chairs. Even the boy in Jack's arms jumps down and rushes to join his friends. Jack just watches them with a smile in his face.]
Been pretty well actually, now the weather is getting better. [Yes, cold equals better, sshh.] Make it chocolate for them and ice-cream for me by the way.

He gets back to working on the drinks quickly enough though, making sure to sneak some extra marshmallows into them, occasionally pausing to glance over to the tables and try to count the kids.]
Ice cream, gotcha. This's more my kind of weather too, honestly- even if the holiday season's going to be kind of different here. Though there was sort of a Halloween, so maybe we'll still get them in one form or another?
[More than a bit of wistfulness there. He's the type who goes all out for Christmas, reindeer sweaters and all.]

Ryan's comment on the weather make Jack's widen, and soon he's one more excited young boy. Fuck yeah, a winter buddy! If he was the kind of guy to do that, Jack would just hug him right now. Get a big grin instead.]
I know! Cold is the best, right? Yeah, fall wouldn't be the same without Halloween. [He goes back to watching the children, lost in thought, fingers running through his hair.] I know they have New Year here... maybe we could try throwing Christmas with it too? North would never forget me if I don't get some gifts for those kids.
[Oh, yeah, he happens to know Santa. Get a sweater of that.]

--with lights, and trees, and reindeer sweaters and everything? I could probably help, I mean, I'm going to need people to shove extra Christmas cookies at even without any plans-- oh god, but it's already cooling off, I don't have time to do that much knitting...
[...yep, he is already in planning mode, just sort of lingering there for another moment before that energy kicks in and he grabs a bowl for the ice cream.]
The cast is getting ready a X-mas miniplot to present the mods, I guess Ryan will be in to help? ^^;
And everything. You don't have to do so much, if we make it like-- some kind of a festival, like Halloween, everyone could add something. [Jack loves that enthusiasm, Ryan! North would be so proud. Still, he can't help a little teasing.] I hope your cookies are as good as the elves'. Know any Russian recipes?
he would definitely help! christmas is best holiday.
[He's practically beaming as he passes the bowl over, leaning forward to fold his arms on the countertop.]
...really, though, I'm fine with doing it on whatever scale. It's just been me and the house-ghosts for a few years now, it'd be nice to have a real celebration. Not much point trying to give spirits gifts or food when they can't really use either, you know?
hooray \o/ we may get Santa for december too /keeps enabling people.
Relax, I was kidding. Russian or not, Santa still likes cookies and fruitcake.
[The kids make room for him, the bowl going to the table by its own, but Jack doesn't touch the ice-cream yet, watching Ryan with curiosity and... a bit touched too.]
You really took care of those ghosts, didn't you? That's... very nice of you. [Smooth, Jack, smooth.]
oh my god that would be amazing
I guess? But I mean, they didn't really have anyone but me as a living contact, I couldn't have just left them alone. There aren't a whole lot of people like me, far as I know-- so we kind of have responsibilities there, yeah?
[...and he's just making himself a cup of cocoa while he talks, because why not. Jade's giving it out anyway, she's not going to mind.]

[He isn't looking at Ryan anymore, he's poking the ice-cream with his spoon, eyes fixed on it but thoughts obviously somewhere else. I couldn't have just left them alone. Well, damn.]
...thank you. For not leaving them alone.
