Who: Stiles Stilinski & Rachel Elizabeth Dare
What: complete and utter shmoop in the form of a first sleepover.
When: day 378, late night.
Where: Rachel's room in Freyr.
Rating: pg-13, because makeouts!
[ so, this is potentially a really bad idea. well, not bad, but risky. risky in that back home she made a promise, an oath, that as long as she was the Oracle of Delphi she would remain a, ah, maiden, in every sense of the word. no dating, no sex, nothing that would tarnish her purity. when vowing to be the Spirit of Delphi's vessel, so to speak, she promised all of those things. and it was fine back home, seriously, after her crush on Percy kind of faded out, as crushes often do, she didn't have a lot of time to think about boys or dating anyway. not when the Prophecy of Seven was underway and the camp was about to be attacked by the Roman demigods from Camp Jupiter. it was actually really easy to avoid anything romantic during all of that.
but now she's here.
and here, there's a Stiles. who's kind of like a Hermes kid, in a lot of ways, but also very much mortal, which is kind of nice for a girl that's trying not to feel so damn guilty for taking advantage of her whole not-being-the-Oracle-here situation.
and it's confusing? but really not confusing at all. which is pretty much the only reason why it's so difficult to stick to that oath, especially without Apollo around to casually remind her that he could literally light her on fire with the power of the sun if she came close to breaking said oath. ...not that he would, but you get the point. and hey, Rachel isn't a ball full of sexual frustration or anything, she's been keeping herself in check, but it's a little difficult in this case, as opposed to how things were back home. she's had a few crushes before, sure, but up until now said crushes never really panned out. so the fact that she likes Stiles and Stiles likes her is all new to her, and new is pretty exciting in this case.
so when she texts him "goodnight" and he texts her back saying he's on his way over to tuck her in, she's realizes that now she's feeling kind of way too jittery to really think much about sleep. oh, this is bad. nonono, not bad. risky.
but risky is kinda fun, isn't it? ]

You can keep your t-shirt on? Or, y'know, not.
[ she's trying her best to look smarmy and flirty, but she probably just looks a little silly. ]
What do you usually wear to bed?
no subject
[He waggled his eyebrows at her, swinging the boxers as he did.]
Just kidding. Normally pj pants and a t-shirt. Unless it's hot. Then boxers and a tank top. Luckily, it's not hot, so I'll just keep my t-shirt on.
[He pointed at the bathroom.]
I'll just go change. In, uh, in there.
no subject
[ changing in the bathroom. yes. brilliant. she even gives him a sage nod. very wise decision. ]
In the meantime, I will entertain Hale.
[ and then she's turning around to look at Hale again, who's literally stretching his wings like he would like to see if he really could take up the entire width of the bed. unsurprisingly, even considering he's a little dragon, he actually does take up way too much space. but Rachel sits at the edge of the bed, her fingers immediately reaching out to wiggle over his face, grinning once he folds his wings in again so he can reach up at her fingers with his tinylittlehands. good. at least he's not spread-eagle anymore. and maybe she should be worried that a dragon is holding onto two of her fingers, because maybe fingers look like sausages to a dragon, but no, he's just pulling her hand towards his face so he can nudge at the back of her fingers with his snout. he even huffs happily when her fingers start to lightly trail up and down the length of his neck.
what a fearsome creature. ]
no subject
[The dragon lifted his head and made an inquiring cheep over at Stiles before he headed into the bathroom, leaving the dragon alone with his redheaded creator.
Hale seemed to be at his happiest when either Stiles or Rachel was paying attention to him, his face almost conveying a grin as he brushed the side of his muzzle against one of those fingers. He chirped again, a squawking trill as he looked up at her, wriggling still on the bed in what was clearly dragon speak for 'my belly is lonely and needs petting'.]
no subject
which is why she's grinning still when she hears the bathroom door open again, instead of being wildly nervous over Stiles wearing the pajama boxers that she drew for him. with her initials on them. ahaa aahh no not nervous at all, nope ]
no subject
He loved his life right now.]
Hey, lazybones. Go sleep on your own bed. There's no room on this one.
no subject
because Stiles.
her hands reach for his before she's even settled at the edge of the mattress in front of him ]
My initials look good on you.
[ well, on the boxers on him. but she's not being picky. she's also tilting her head up and pulling him towards her, until her sock-covered toes are brushing his ankles ]
And now don't make fun of me for saying this, but I'm actually really excited to snuggle up with you until we fall asleep.
no subject
Including tugging him in towards her while she sits on the bed and sort of tries to trap him just with her eyes and the hint of fuzzy socks that could hook around his ankles.
He's firmly telling himself not to think about the levels of their respective heads, instead, lifting one of his hands to pull at a curl, watching it spring back into the rest of them when he lets it go.]
Is this the part where I say anything of yours would look good on me, including you? Because it's true.
[God, he hopes the smile he's wearing isn't half as goofy as it feels.]
I'm, um, excited too. Really.
[He just hoped he didn't get too excited. Especially not with her at eye level.]
no subject
Mm, but I'm not sure my jeans would look very good on you. A bit loose and a bit snug, in all the wrong places.
[ like she totally didn't catch on to what he was saying. nope, totally oblivious, absolutely. her toes of one of her feet are brushing over the back of his ankle, an absent movement, seeing as she's paying more attention to his expression than what she's doing to him. easy, simple, relax, nothing to be nervous about, nothing. technically, no oaths were being broken, not by just snuggling. the fact that she considers him her boyfriend is a bit rule-breaky, but honestly. she might be thinking about the sorts of things a guy and a girl could get up to in a little twin bed, but she's not set on acting on them. so, no guilt. right. just Stiles and his smile and all that bodyheat she can't wait to soak up.
yes, yes. it's very selfish, that's what this is. right. ]
So are you really going to tuck me in, or were you just saying that?
no subject
[He grinned down at her, trying not to think about all the implications that came with getting into bed with a girl half dressed. Nope. Not thinking about it. Not at all. Not even a little.
He sucked at lying to himself.]
I can try, but it's going to be a weird process since I'll have to be in bed with you when I do it.
no subject
And it won't be weird, it will be lovely. I expect to be tucked in, complete with a kiss on the forehead and all. I'm sure you'll be able to make it work.
no subject
[Yes, let's move on. Move on to how he was going to tuck her into bed and get all those things done. Well...]
I could tuck you in first, then climb in after?
no subject
You should climb in with me at the same time, only you're in charge of situating the blankets around us both. Simple. I believe in you. [ she's giving him a bit of a duh expression before she leans in to press a kiss wherever it decides to land ( somewhere right above the inside of his elbow, turns out ) before using her feet to hop up a bit and push herself back further onto the bed. not that it's all that big, it just takes her a scoot and a half to get to one side of it, rucking the covers down with her hands, then her feet as she lays down on her side. which leaves pretty much just her feet tucked under the blankets, the rest of her curled up and ready to be tucked in ]
no subject
Right. Blanket duty.
[He looks over at Hale, sprawled out on the pillow and looking back at him with a 'what, you totally came into this on purpose, idiot' look and sighs as he watches her look like some adorable little thing as she looks up at him from the bed.]
Should I turn the lights off?
no subject
[ what? she's not nervous, who said she was nervous. she's trying not to curl up as she waits for him to get the lights and join her, even if she's sort of literally squirming ( her toes, under the blankets, thank goodness we can't see them ) with the anticipation of curling up with him. mostly because- well, because she really likes him, but also because going on a year now she's managed to convince herself that cuddling and snuggling and everything in between wasn't really an option. but now it is? and that's exciting. ]
Hurry up.
[ she tries to sound impatient in a huffy way, but she ends up grinning into her pillow, hiding her face there until she decides to push her hair back and look at him again ]
no subject
Hurry up for what? You that tired that you have to sleep right now?
[He was teasing. How could he not? But god, he was sitting on a bed with a girl he was going to sleep with. Just sleep. Sleeping only. In the same bed. He moved to lay out more, grabbing the blankets at the bottom of the bed and pulling them up as he did.]
If you wind up kneeing me in the crotch when we're sleeping, this is never happening again.
no subject
[ that's a convincing argument, isn't it? mostly she's trying to be cheeky, but he's already on the bed, so obviously she's winning here. total victory for Rachel! ]
And that will be a literal impossibility, once I'm the big spoon, so I'm not too worried.
[ she's resisting the urge to reach for him, or reach for the blankets to help get them settled. nope, she's staying right like this, one hand kind of curled under her cheek against the pillow and the other resting flat on the bed in front of her. ]
no subject
[That was him being playful. And maybe just a little itty bit jealous. Just a bit.]
Does that mean I have to turn around? I don't know... giving you my back?
[The blankets came up and he pulled them over both of them, reaching around Rachel to her back to tuck them in on that side. Then he went to lay down, not sure if he should roll over, stay on his back, or roll towards her. God, why was this so awkward?]
no subject
Are you comfy on your back? [ the smile that's hidden against his shoulder is in her tone ] We don't have to go to sleep right away, right? I mean, what would be the point? [ woops, ah, that's her knee kind of bumping his before she manages to slide her foot to rest in the space between his feet, which crosses her shin against his. nothing too clingy! but just easier to even out her weight. less wobbly! it makes sense. ]
no subject
Yeah. Yeah, I'm good like this.
[In bed, but not sleeping. God, Rach, you weren't making it easy on him.]
Haha, right. The point.
[There was a very draconic snort of disgust at him and he flipped his pet the finger.]
no subject
so now she's thinking about how it's actually kind of comfy, having his arm under her head, and so she's kind of tucked on top of / in front of his armpit. which should be weird? it's kind of funny. but it's not. it's actually really comfortable. ]
And to answer your question from before, I was only kidding. Obviously. No boys have been tucking me in at night. Just you, right now. [ her finger pokes his chest lightly, to emphasize her point. ] And be nice to Hale, I sort of feel a little bad for stealing his snuggle buddy. Since you obviously usually let him sleep on the bed with you. [ judging by his antics on her bed a minute ago ]
no subject
[Not that he'd actually set some guy on fire for anything, but he might burn all their hair off. And their eyebrows. And maybe singe the crotch of their pants.
Just a bit.
He looks down at the tangle of curls in his face, blowing at them as they tickle his nose.]
Hey, I'm being more than nice to him. Don't be surprised if you wake up with him on you, though.
[Stiles had tried putting a separate bed somewhere for him the first few nights. That hadn't worked out so well for him.]
no subject
He doesn't have a habit of yawning fire or anything, does he? Otherwise I don't mind. [ she taps her fingers against his chest lightly, eyes peeking up to look at Stiles, even if she just ends up getting a good look at his neck and jaw more than anything else. again, she tried. ] Actually, you'd tell me if he had any weird habits, right? Like dangerous-weird? I'm not sure there's anything I could do about it, but ever since I drew him I was kind of wondering how much of how I imagined him actually became a reality.
no subject
[Not that he'd be too bothered by waking up on fire, but hey, he could control it. Rachel, on the other hand... No way was he going to let her tootsies get toasted.]
He's... definitely got a personality. You must have drawn him with a foot fetish with the way he goes after feet.
no subject
I didn't give him any fetishes! Maybe he's just fascinated by them because they look different than his. He's a baby, right. Babies put their own feet in their mouths because they don't know any better, so. Maybe it's like that. Plus if he's walking around on the floor, they're right there, eye-level. I think I would be a little enthralled by feet if they were all I had to go by. [ yes she's making excuses for Hale. being totally motherly about it. ] I think it's cute.
