Not really sure how to feel about it
Who: Stiles and Rachel
What: Date night
When: 414
Where: Gefion Park
Rating: R. Not sure what's exactly going to happen, but there'll likely be gratuitous amounts of sickly sweet schmoopy stuff and kissing at the very minimum. If it bumps up, I'll change the rating.
It had taken a little finagling and coercion, but he'd made sure that they both had A) the night off, B) the next day off, C) that she hadn't made plans with anyone else for that night, and D) that Hale was being babysat for a day. That left him with the whole day to plan for what he was going to do. He'd gotten a lot of really good suggestions from his little net he'd thrown out on the network, so he was kind of glad he'd done that. Otherwise he wouldn't have really thought of a picnic and he wouldn't have gotten her favorite foods out of it. (THANK YOU, ALICE)
So he'd made a picnic basket, complete with containers with waffles and bacon in them (eggs didn't really travel well). Lots of bacon, and a few sausages thrown in for good measure. Some toast and cut up fruit as well (hey, she liked breakfast food. he was going all out), and a container with syrup that he planned to warm up for her before she put it on. A bottle of a fruity sparkling white wine that the seller had told him would go well with what he had in mind rounded out their little meal. He'd paid the carriage guy a little extra to keep the basket stashed in the carriage they'd be riding in so he wouldn't be stuck carrying it around for their date until they needed it.
Then came the flowers. He still got a little dizzy trying to figure out all the languages of it that Alice had tossed at him, but what he'd gotten from their chat was bright colors and certain ones that said 'I love you'. Orange lilies for 'I burn for you', daffodils for 'the sun is always shining when you're around', red tulips for 'declaration of love', a single blue violet for 'I'll always be true'... and just because they'd always seemed like happy flowers to him, he got some daisies in an array of colors to spread through it.
Bouquet in hand, he was dressed in Stiles chic; tshirt with a plaid overshirt and khakis. He'd gotten her to promise that she'd be waiting in her room, so that was where he went, wondering why the hell his hands were sweating when he went to knock on her door. God, it wasn't like they hadn't done like... stuff. Lots of stuff. In lots of positions and times and... ahem. So why did he feel like his heart was doing a little tap dance in his chest?
Taking a deep breath, he steadied himself and knocked, cheesily hiding the bouquet behind his back.

Oh! Hey, that's a good hint. And the only hint that really matters, if you ask me. [ she bumps into him with her shoulder, then just- goes and lifts up their hands a bit between them, just to pull his arm around her shoulders, letting her arm sort of cross over her middle just so their fingers can stay linked together. ]
no subject
Mm, well, we're going to the park first. There. That's a huge hint. So much hint, I gave the whole thing away.
no subject
[ g o o d n e s s. if that isn't just as intimidating as it is exciting, she doesn't know what is. Stiles and his plans ]
It sounds like you're going to spoil me rotten today, and if that's the case, I would just like to say now for the record that it's totally your own fault. I won't be held accountable for the expectations you set here. [ like she would ever have expectations, or ever act spoiled ] It's all on you, Stilinski.
no subject
[He kept in step with her as he directed her towards Baldr, feeling nervous at the thought that something could go wrong. That all of it could go horribly wrong and he'd be left with the most pitiful excuse for a date.]
Expect away. I like the idea of spoiling you rotten. You deserve it.
[And it would hopefully ease some of the 'omgyoudied' guilt.]
no subject
I'm kind of feeling the need to ask why you think I deserve to be spoiled rotten. Did I miss something?
no subject
Nope. I just feel like spoiling you. It's my right as your man to do crazy spontaneous things just because. You like animals, right?
no subject
[ because she can see herself saying the same thing, if there was ever a time it suited her to, so. fair. she tilts her head at his question, but doesn't ..question it. ]
I do, yes. I mean, I don't dislike animals.
no subject
[Strolling and strolling and getting closer and closer to the park -- and the petting zoo.]
That's a good start. Not-not liking them.
no subject
no subject
[Because see where they're going, Rachel? See it? See? They're going to the petting zoo. Right there. Right ahead of them. All big and obvious.]
no subject
Oh! Oh. Aw. [ aww. ] I've heard about this zoo. This is so sweet. Stiles. [ a date spent petting animals is a date well ..spent ]
no subject
Anything for my girl.
[Fingers lacing with hers, he moved to pull her towards the park, feeling infinitely pleased with himself and his life choices at the moment. Now, if only the rest of the date would go as well.]
no subject
[ wow listen to that ramble. and then- ]
But I guess that's appropriate...
Kidnapping.
no subject
[He paused and looked back at her before laughing.]
No, Rachel, we are not stealing animals on our date. Maybe tomorrow if you still want one. I'm not against larceny. Besides, you look good when you're devious. Sexy. I fully support that.
no subject
no subject
And hope that Hale doesn't eat it. [He grinned as he poked her nose, then dragged her through the gates and into the petting zoo.]
Behold, the first part of our awesome date -- the zoo.
no subject
[ a statement which earns them a very clear look from the native family of three they just stumbled past, but oh well. and then they set off into the petting zoo, which has all sorts of cute things, much to Rachel's delight, all from normal zoo animals like ponies and sheep and bunnies and kids, to cute sort of hybrid things that act like one thing and look like another, and they must be native to the city, or maybe just people that felt like getting super creative with a power like hers. they're all very well mannered though, and Rachel is the first person to say yes whenever one of the farm hands asks if anybody wants to feed the animals. and normally zoos make her a tiny bit uneasy, just, animals being locked up, but this is definitely different. these animals are getting showered with love on a daily basis and very obviously loving it. so. Rachel kinda loves it too.
and kinda loves Stiles for bringing here. which is obvious because when she doesn't have both hands scritching through fur, her fingers are laced up with his.
and there may have been two or three times she snuggled up with something cute and mouthed "this is the one" at him, but. no. they didn't end up kidnapping any animals from the site. ]
no subject
After that, he steered her towards where the carriage were lined up waiting for customers, waving at the one that had his basket stashed in it.]
This way, my red haired beauty.
no subject
[ Rachel is so not the type to get all 'oh my gods shut up shut UP' when she's excited, but apparently right now she is, because here's yet another thing that she didn't know the city had to offer, and it's actually kind of really romantic that he's taking her on a carriage ride.
but instead of bouncing around or anything too ridiculous, she's just holding his hand a little tighter, her other hand moving up to grip at his shoulder, clingy excitement ]
Stiles, you're an actual Disney prince. You're taking me on a carriage ride. I can't- I can't.
[ sorry hang on, she's so on board with this ( clearly ), but first she just has to round him so she can pull him in for a kiss by the front of his shirt ]
no subject
[That would be his explanation getting squashed by her mouth, but he's smiling a fraction of a moment after, pulling her in for a bit of a more solid kiss, then drawing back to tuck a curl behind her ear.]
You can, and you'd better get in the damn carriage. This date's not over, Red.
no subject
[ she takes a couple steps backwards towards the carriage, but- ]
Oh, no wait. You first.
[ said with that same look she always gets when she's being silly and shameless and no, no, after you when they're headed up the stairs. ]
I might need a hand up getting in, that's all.
[ also she's asking to get a look at his butt yes. :| ]
no subject
Your chariot awaits, my lady.
no subject
Oh. [ she hums, shakes her head like she has to pull herself out of it, then she grins, reaching up to take his hand ] Why thank you, kind sir. [ aaand pulling herself up into the carriage, yes. she's quick to sit down, all very proper, ankles crossed and her hands in her lap. mostly because she wants to make sure he has room to move around or whatever, get settled. then she'll curl right up with him. ]
no subject
I'm, um, glad you're liking it. I wasn't sure what was too much and what wasn't.
no subject
No, no, this is seriously so cool. Everything. Baby animals are always a pretty safe bet for me, so. And this is just really, cute. Wow. Check us out, this is almost like... a normal datey situation we've found ourselves in. [ a beat ] Which is a good thing, in case that isn't obvious. A break from all the crazy. Just me and you, it's perfect.
