Progress through the ice blockade will be slow and narrow, as they can't possibly hope to clear the entirety of the forest that has been buried under Thiazi's black ice. Now that they know the source of her magic's corruption, it might not come as a great surprise when cracking open the ice unleashes a strange burst of magic.

At the halfway point between Utgard and Asgard, a pulse of energy will move through the entire city, immediately putting every mortal it touches to sleep. This part of the curse is mandatory and your character must fall asleep; the dream effects of it are not mandatory, and can be played with at your discretion. During this first wave, Travellers will be granted a brief dream - that does not belong to them. They will see, from the dreamer's point of view, every hope and goal and aspiration that the dreamer wishes to complete before the end of days. Whether it's simply confessing their love to an old friend or saving their home planet or perfecting an Asgardian pie, your character will see someone else's ideal resolution before Ragnarok. Upon waking, the Travellers will be plagued with the indistinct whispering of several voices overlapping one another and a slight headache. Both symptoms will gradually increase over time until it reaches incapacitating pain and nausea. The only way to assuage the symptoms is to find the owner of the dream and either maintain physical contact for an hour or discuss the subject of the dream until a full confession has been made. After that, the symptoms will fade and the Travellers will be free to carry on with their day.

There will be other pulses of magic at random throughout the day; these are not mandatory and you can feel free to have your character experience as many or as few dreams as you wish. All dream-sharing will cease by the end of the day, as the blockade progresses past that centre-point of magic.

Because of the war, perhaps?

[Among other things. They have been forcibly dragged from their worlds - but then, Adachi had said he didn't like his.]

Oh... well, yeah, that sucks, but I've got a good job here... and people that look up to me, and someone I like, so...

[He trailed off at that last part, not... really sure who he was talking about there. I-it was Harley. Definitely Harley. That's his girl, after all.]

[That's right; he had mentioned someone.]

If I may ask, what is she like?

Well... s-she's lively, and fun; she can be a little stubborn and wild, but just so it makes things interesting.

[...wait, who was he talking about now?]

[damselled]

She sounds quite interesting! I would very much like to meet her, if that's alright.

[Hi, Adachi, guess who's clueless.]

M-maybe some time...?

[Oh god, all Harley needed to do was see what a confused shit head he was around Mari. That would end their relationship reaaaaaaaally quick... unless she was into-- No, brain, not now.]

[damselled]

That would be lovely.

[And look! Maribelle's place! Now there can maybe be less awkward!]

[sleight_of_hand]

[Thank fuck, because Adachi was about to snap. He hurried her inside, shooting straight for a couch or a bed, whatever was closer.]

[damselled]

[Actually, neither is particularly close - mostly because Maribelle isn't about to allow a man into her chambers, naturally. Think of the scandal! But the spot where they had tea is still available - and Lissa the reinhare comes fluttering up, giving Adachi a rather grumpy look.]

[sleight_of_hand]

[Go away, rodent; Adachi shot her an annoyed look, before finally setting her down on a chair, checking her over carefully, and generally fussing over her like a mother would.]

You sure you're all right?

[damselled]

[Excuse you, Adachi. Lissa is a lady, not a rodent. Shoo.]

Oh, don't worry about me, darling. I will be fine. But what about you? You do seem rather pale.

[sleight_of_hand]

G-geeze, stop worrying about me, and worry about yourself for once. You're the one that fell on your head!

[He didn't mean to snap, but... dammit, why the hell was she so damn confusing for him!?]

[damselled]

I will be fine, Tohru. Surely you must realize that by now.

[sleight_of_hand]

S-still...!

[Dammit... just dammit, dammit, dammit! After a moment, he stood up straight, forcing out a breath.]

...just don't over do it...

[damselled]

I have no intentions of doing so, Tohru. I know my limits.

[sleight_of_hand]

Sometimes I wonder.

[He hesitated; he needed to go, if he stayed he... he just couldn't stay.]

I-I gotta go.

[damselled]

W-wait.

[She may be putting on a brave face, but she's still a bit scared, and it shows as she gazes up at him.]

Would you... stay with me, please? Just for a little while, of course. I wouldn't dream of keeping you for too long.

[sleight_of_hand]

I-I...

[He tried really hard to say he had other things to do, but... he could see that fear in her eyes, and he couldn't do a damn thing. His protests dried up in his throat one by one, until he finally sunk down into a chair.]

[damselled]

... Thank you.

[She doesn't know where she - or he - will be when and if the next wave hits, or what condition it will leave them in.]

Would you care for some tea?

[sleight_of_hand]

Yeah, sure...

[He didn't even think of his answer, or the fact that it was probably a bad idea to have her up and walking around. He was too busy trying to sort out his own damn mess.]

[damselled]

[She doesn't want to sit around like some helpless porcelain doll, either, so she gets up and busies herself with the kettle, preparing the tea.]

How lovely. I do believe I need a nice cup of tea after all this mess.

[sleight_of_hand]

[Adachi didn't respond, instead planting his hands over his eyes and rubbing hard. Dammit, he should have just left. This was going to end badly if he stayed, but his ass stayed planted in the chair, like it was determined to rebel against him.]

[damselled]

[It only takes a few minutes before the kettle is boiling, and only a few more before the tea is ready, and so Maribelle comes back with it, pouring some for Adachi before herself.

It's a citrus blend, this time - Lissa's favorite.]

[sleight_of_hand]

[Adachi's never one to turn down sweeter things, and apparently with tea it's no exception. He downs it pretty quickly, keeping his mouth shut. If he said anything, he was afraid it would be the totally wrong thing to say.]

{She chuckles, pouring him more.]

It's quite delicious, isn't it?
