Day 528 ( Oct. 21/22 )
Not wasting a moment, Odin, Hel, and Heimdall will set out for Ginnungagap once again before dawn and the other gods will stand vigil at the city gates. The natives will filter into the streets, curious for all that news of Tyr's very existence is eye-opening for them and reverent for the prospect of a new deity among them. They will pass around candles to any that want one to hold lit for their patrons until the sunlight is high enough to blow the flames out, and then they will mill around seeking comfort in anyone around them, whether to give it or receive it in this strange time between hope and grieving.

By noon, a great rumbling will crackle across the sky like the beginnings of thunder, despite the thinly clouded skies. The air will grow heavy and acrid, almost choking to breathe, as a pressure builds across the city and across the land. Just as it begins to reach painful levels, the rumbling will finally crack as one stroke of lightning spiderwebs to fill the entire sky, backlit by the distant sound of a woman shrieking in pain or anger or agony. The scream dies down just as the light fades and the sky shifts back into blue, the clouds scattered and the pressure lifted. Either the storm has past, or it has just begun; there's no telling for now.

A few hours after that, a strong wave will wash over the city, rustling plants and loose materials, and the Travellers will feel their hearts pounding once too hard, near painfully as though they've just received a severe fright. It's similar to what happened when Freyr was resurrected, but stronger and twisted into something uncomfortable, almost nauseating. The feeling will pass in the next heartbeat and just before sundown, the three gods will return from their voyage to Ginnungagap; this time, bandages will be wrapped around Odin's head and covering his left eye, and his right middle finger will be missing to the knuckle, same as his left index when they returned from resurrecting Freyr. They will make way directly to the castle and the other gods will filter in behind them, so be sure to grab them quickly if you have any desire to speak to them before the coming storm.

By dusk, the Travellers will begin to feel a creeping sense of paranoia, as though there's someone watching them from nearby and flickering out of sight just before they can turn around to catch them in the act. Over the course of the evening, the paranoia will bud into a headache and an itch at the back of their minds, like a thought they can't shake but can't reach either. By twilight, they will start to hear indistinct whispers not unlike the start of the Dream a Little Dream event, but the name of this game is hallucinations.

This first night will begin with auditory hallucinations: as the Travellers attempt to prepare for sleep ( or after long enough of not sleeping ), the whispering a will morph into crisp, clear voices that might sound as though they're speaking over your shoulder or from behind the couch or maybe it's simply inside your head. The voices can be male or female, familiar or stranger, one or a dozen, it doesn't really matter. What matters is what they say. For this stage of the curse, you will hear these voices speaking your character's fear(s) aloud, almost taunting or goading in the clear spelling of them. The auditory hallucinations will not cease at any point throughout the night and may continue on throughout the rest of the event as you please!

Day 529 ( Oct. 23/24 )
Morning brings no relief from the strange sounds, and as the Travellers go about their day, the curse will evolve into visual hallucinations. They will imagine seeing the very thing(s) they fear happening right before their eyes, despite the fact that no such thing is happening at all. It will be like a waking dream, wherein they are conscious and aware but perceiving a different reality built around their innermost fears coming into fruition. Other characters and NPCs can be involved in these hallucinations, but they will not actually be happening; physical contact or very strong words might be able to snap someone out of their visions, or they might further fuel it. Feel free to play around with this. These hallucinations can happen as frequently / last for as long or as short / cycle between fears as you'd like, and can continue to happen until the end of the event.

The general paranoia and unease will continue to grow and the day will pass under constant headaches, like an unceasing pressure inside their heads that follows them around and flares up during any hallucinations. They will begin to feel uncomfortable in their own skin, almost dysphoric with the vague impression that something is wrong and that they themselves might just be the very thing that doesn't fit. Paired with the hallucinations of their fears coming to life, tensions will be running high and even the natives will be affected, keeping to themselves until whatever this is might pass.

Day 530 ( Oct. 25/26 )
By this day, the curse will advance to physical hallucinations. What this means is that your character's fear(s) will begin to manifest in real time, no longer a trick of the imagination but a tangible embodiment of their deep rooted fears. They will be able to interact with their imagined reality, and the hallucinations will interact right back; those witnessing your character's hallucinating will only see the character talking to air, but coming in physical contact with them will absorb them into the hallucination as well. This can be a means of breaking through the episode, or further fueling the delusion.

At this stage, the hallucinations will take on a strength of their own, and they will play to your character's fear(s) to try and draw them deeper into the delusion. They will try to convince you that this is reality, that there is no escape, and that you will end your days shrouded in this fear. These hallucinations can kill your character! They are physical, which means that even if other people can't see them, your character will very much feel the weight of them if they attack or draw you into them.

Day 531 ( Oct. 27/28 )
For the last day of this event, the curse will all come together to result in catatonic hallucinations. This stage is simple: your character will be awake but inert, incapable of moving or seeing past their delusions. They will be forced to watch their fears overwhelm them without any means of snapping out of it by themselves. If your character succumbs to this level of the curse, the only way to break the hallucination will be for someone else to talk them out of it. Again, more on this in the plot notes, as this curse is fairly complicated!

While the majority of the city is either comatose or fighting off ghosts, another wave of energy will pass through the city exactly as it had at the start of the event just before sundown. Plantlife will violently begin blooming, leaves and petals bursting into the wind and carrying across the entire city - and immediately afterwards, they will wither within seconds, shrivelling up and dying on the spot. Vines will rapidly start encroaching across the sides of buildings and across yards, thick tendrils attempting to overtake any available soil and the area around it. Rain will pick up as the city starts to feel lost beneath the general theme of decay, and as the sun is setting, a new face will be seen walking through the Gate of Fire.

Vines will sprout from his footsteps as he sweeps slowly into the city as though in a daze, the storm following him and increasing in strength the further he comes into the city. Travellers can attempt to approach him, but he will be wholly non-responsive, and the pressure in their heads from the curse's headaches will increase the closer they get to him until it becomes debilitating within arm's length.

His path will head in the direction of the castle, but before he makes even halfway there, Loki will be seen running through the streets ( followed closely behind by Thor and Heimdall ) directly towards the new arrival. He will not stop for anything, and anyone in the vicinity at the time can see him use the full force of his running start to punch this frightful stranger in the face. The blow will send him flying a few fair feet, where he will lay prone and unconscious; at this point, the curse will stop, and the three gods will drag the body into the castle without a word. Explanations will have to wait For now, there's some cleaning up to do.

Day 515 ( Sept. 25/26 )
Progress through the ice blockade will be slow and narrow, as they can't possibly hope to clear the entirety of the forest that has been buried under Thiazi's black ice. Now that they know the source of her magic's corruption, it might not come as a great surprise when cracking open the ice unleashes a strange burst of magic.

At the halfway point between Utgard and Asgard, a pulse of energy will move through the entire city, immediately putting every mortal it touches to sleep. This part of the curse is mandatory and your character must fall asleep; the dream effects of it are not mandatory, and can be played with at your discretion. During this first wave, Travellers will be granted a brief dream - that does not belong to them. They will see, from the dreamer's point of view, every hope and goal and aspiration that the dreamer wishes to complete before the end of days. Whether it's simply confessing their love to an old friend or saving their home planet or perfecting an Asgardian pie, your character will see someone else's ideal resolution before Ragnarok. More on plotting this below!

Upon waking, the Travellers will be plagued with the indistinct whispering of several voices overlapping one another and a slight headache. Both symptoms will gradually increase over time until it reaches incapacitating pain and nausea. The only way to assuage the symptoms is to find the owner of the dream and either maintain physical contact for an hour or discuss the subject of the dream until a full confession has been made. After that, the symptoms will fade and the Travellers will be free to carry on with their day.

There will be other pulses of magic at random throughout the day; these are not mandatory and you can feel free to have your character experience as many or as few dreams as you wish. All dream-sharing will cease by the end of the day, as the blockade progresses past that centre-point of magic.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY, PART ONE;
(July 7-12/Days 475-477)

Days 475-477 (July 7-11)
Day 475 begins with a strange and unseasonable cold snap. The sunrise does little to fight the thin, harmless layer of frost that covers the city, and fat gray clouds crowd the skies by noon. Snow will fall heavily (but intermittently) over the course of the next three days, leading to high snow drifts and buildings that strain under the weight of the snowfall. Most of the Natives seem unsettled, regarding it as an omen, but the city's children seem to be glad for the change. They sled around the streets with little regard for their own safety - or the safety of the pedestrians around them. Any who leave the city will find that the temperature slowly normalizes the further one gets from Asgard, leveling out to normal about a half mile from it.

Day 477 (July 12)
When the city's clocks strike eleven PM on the night of the third consecutive snowday, the temperature makes a harsh dive as a violent snowstorm blows in without warning. It leaves little physical damage on the city, but hard pellets of sleet and hail mix with the snow. The precipitation is so heavy that visibility is practically nonexistent, and the wind blows hard enough to overturn mailboxes and tables. At precisely midnight, the electricity in all apartments and homes in the cities seems to flicker for a split second. The storm dies abruptly, and all is still.

Who: EVERYONE literally anyone and everyone ever
What: the mingle log for the Ain't Nobody Got Time F'That event!
When: Days 464-466 ( June 15-20 )
Where: anywhere in the city!
Rating: PG-13. Anything higher than that should be taken to a private log, please!

June 15-16 / Day 464:
Not long after sunrise on Day 464, the air in the city will become briefly charged with magic. It will feel something like static electricity, hanging noticeably before dissipating suddenly a half-minute later. This will mark the beginning of the Visitor's Event! Starting then, characters old and new will begin to tumble into the city. They may appear anywhere there is room for them: in the middle of the street, on top of the Ferris Wheel in Hel's creepy amusement park, in the Comfort House, or ten feet in the air above the lake! Visitors may appear at any point during the duration of the event.

The city's natives will begin to usher them to the courtyard of the palace at the center of the city, where Freyr and the Welcoming Committee will have set up stations. This is where they will be given a bracelet to allow them to communicate with the network and reside safely in the city, provided with food and drink, and given camping supplies - basic tents and sleeping bags - if they choose to stay in the courtyard.

June 17-18 / Day 465:
A minute after midnight, all characters in the city - including the freshly arrived Visitors - may notice something a little odd: a soft, warm glow through their shirts, right at the center of their chests. The light will fade, but it isn't quite finished yet. Starting then, threads of light with that same gold glow will lead from their wrists, beginning as intangible bracelets of light and leading them with anyone they have a "connection" with; what exactly that "connection" is is up to you! It could be romantic interest, or simply belonging to the same world, or sharing a favourite colour. Anything is viable, and they can have "connections" with as many or as few people as you'd like. The closer they get to the person they are bound to, the more brilliant the light. Physical touch will stop the light, and will also bring a sense of something like completion, contentment. When characters close their eyes, the glow of the strings is a soft, gentle one, akin to a nightlight.

The lights are not permanent, and seem to flicker to life and back off again arbitrarily. Your character may have one connection at noon that splinters to fifteen later that afternoon, and then none at all that night. Not all connections will always be "on," and you are welcome to play with this at your discretion! Please note: They will only ever be formed as a result of feelings your character already has - they will not create new ones.

That night, in the Castle Courtyard, Freyr will build an enormous, contained bonfire beneath the Great Oak Tree Merlin planted during an earlier celebration. Things may be rationed, but modest snacks and drinks will still be provided. He will encourage storytelling, games and riddles, and a general welcoming, since who knows how long these new Visitors will be here for, right? Mellow gold lights in the same shade as the ties between the Travelers and Visitors, among other things, will decorate the area to give it a sense of warmth and peace.

June 19-20 / Day 466
Day 466 brings a gentle rain onto the city. Awnings and canopies will be set up in the castle courtyard for shelter, and the Welcoming Committee will continue to operate the bracelet and supply stations for any latecoming Visitors. That evening, a god will make a post to the network, giving notice that the Visitors will soon be sent home, so that people should say their goodbyes. After the given time, they will flicker and then disappear. The strings of light between people will begin to fade at this time as well, a gentle tapering off for a few hours until they are gone for good.

Yggdrasil's collapse is reaching a fever pitch and bringing the decay right into the heart of Asgard. Those that remain in the Holy City for this month will struggle with disappearances, memory loss, memory gain, and other various horrible things. Every week will introduce a new feature for you guys to play with, and by the last week, all four will be occurring at random in one major clusterfuck centering around the idea of collapse.

Week Three: Days 446-449 / May 11-17
    Day 446 ( May 10/11 )
By this day, the memory loss will begin to worsen and start affecting canon memories as well. Your character may remember seeing their castmate in Asgard, but may not recall knowing them from home. They might lose memories of their childhood, or forget why it is they wanted to get back there. What exactly they forget is entirely up to you, but the recollection of their canon will become hazy if not outright blank.

This memory loss is not permanent and can return at random, either immediately or gradually, at any point throughout the month.

Starting during the past week, ghosts began appearing throughout Asgard's streets. The Travellers that have died during the opt-out event will return to Asgard as spectres that cannot speak, touch, or otherwise influence anything around them. Their spirits will be trapped between this world and the next; the living Travellers in Asgard will be able to see them, but they will not be able to hear anything the ghosts might say. Any Travellers inside Asgard that die will join them on the other side of the veil to be trapped there for the time being. These ghosts will continue to appear throughout the month as more of their company fall in Ginnungagap.

    Week Four: Days 450-452 / May 18-23
    • Day 450 ( May 18/19 ): Travellers begin having terrifying and painful nightmares whenever they fall asleep. These dreams are short-lived, easy to wake from, and immediately forgotten upon waking.
    • The volunteer opportunity for new characters takes place during this week. Sign-ups are by email and must be received by May 17.

THE LOG FOR WEEKS 1&2 IS LOCATED HERE.

[ OOC NOTES: This is the mingle log for the WEEKS THREE AND FOUR of the Something Ominous plot event! Remember that your character will be part of this event unless they signed up for the opt-out event by the deadline. If you have any questions, please let us know, and have fun! The link to the Weeks Three & Four Something Significant log can be found HERE.

SPECIAL NOTE: As of the power expansion plot, bracelets will work outside of the city along with god powers. Characters WILL be able to communicate with those outside of the city of Asgard, as long as the party has his or her bracelet on him. ]

Day 415 (Mar. 9/10)
Not long after the message from the gods on the bracelets, all NPC shops in town will begin shutting down. It is late evening when the city's Natives begin heading toward Gefion Park, some alone, some clustered in small groups, but it seems like citizens of Asgard of all ages are headed that way. It is just before sunset when all of the gods and several thousand natives will stand grouped around the shore of the park's lake. Thor, looking oddly somber, will move to stand on a small podium, voice tight but magically amplified. His posture is straight, head held high, and he will cut a striking image as he speaks with a firm and magically amplified voice:

"We may be the gods of this realm, but we would be nothing without both of you: our people, and our visitors. Even in times of darkness, we mustn't allow ourselves to forget how brightly our lights can shine. In times of weakness and exhaustion, we only need cling to the memory of how strong we truly are. We will fight for the lost, and we will fight for each other. Until my father returns, I will act in his stead. We will continue to move ahead, if only because there is too much to lose if we don't. Salvation is within our grasp, and I will do everything I can to make sure we attain it."

Here Thor will clear his throat, pausing just long enough to wonder how apparent it is that Freyr wrote most of this speech.

"But now I invite you to lay your offerings into the longboats, offerings to the Natives of this world that have lost their lives in this war. Their sacrifices were not in vain, nor shall they be forgotten. In their names, we shall fight for Asgard, and for every world represented here, and for the countless that aren't."

The moment that the newly crowned Prince Regent stops speaking, Natives will place clothes and food and other trinkets inside the boat. Any Traveller with offerings will be given the chance to lay them in the boat then, before Hel sends it off to the center of the lake. It will stall there before bursting into bright flame. Smaller, match-sized flames will light all across the lake, one for every native soul that has left Asgard for Niflheim in the last two years, and they will not extinguish even in the light rainfall that begins into the evening.

After the flames are lit, however, the natives will be opening several dozen casks of different wines, meads, and ales. There will be bottles of harder liquors passed around and glasses given freely to anyone within arm's reach of a native. Time for a bonfire in the park! Anything is free game for this: there will be dancing, eating, body painting, the weaving of flowers into people's hair or into crowns, pretty much anything that is loose and vaguely intimate. The only thing that remains undisturbed is the lake, where the fires burn ceaselessly above the water. This is their farewell; they will drink, tell stories, and laugh their way all through the night.

Day 416 ( Mar. 11/12 )
The next morning, most of the natives will still be in the park, making sure none of that pesky alcohol remains in those barrels. They will take this second day to relax and clean up the park while they continue to drink, singing hymns and generally lending a hand to one another. Where yesterday was a big party, this is more like communal R&R. About halfway through the day, flowers of all types imaginable will begin to sprout from the ground. Many of them will sing along with the Native's hymns of remembrance, though they will linger after.

This is actually our Holes event for the month of March! These flowers will not just sprout at Gefion Park, however! When they first appear on Day 416, they will actually spring up just about everywhere, dirt or not. They may appear on a table, off a wall, or rooted in someone's freshly prepared sandwich. The flowers not in dirt will wilt after about a day. Following their first appearance, these flowers will continue to grow in the city anywhere flowers can grow.

Back at the party, however, everyone is on equal footing and gathered to respect their loved ones. For the time being, nothing else really matters.

They'll go back to their regularly scheduled monotony by sundown, the boat of offerings finally removed from the lake, though the candlelight flames will remain throughout the night and disappear by sunrise. In thanks for their support and continued sacrifice, the Travellers will find one gift from home in their rooms at midnight.

Who: EVERYONE still in Asgard
What: The Friendly Fire mingle log!
When: Days 402-403 (Feb. 11-14)
Where: Asgard city proper.
Rating: PG-13. Anything higher than that should be taken to a private log, please!

A more in-depth explanation of the event can be found at the link above, with some examples of how powers might backfire! As Yggdrasil's core starts to rot and fester, the immortal beings that reflect her essence are feeling the effects ripple throughout them. This anomaly cripples the gods with the feeling of being wrenched out of their bodies, as though a schism is being driven through their physical being and their souls. The Travelerss tied to these souls will feel the schism manifest in their God Powers going haywire.

Day 402 (Feb 11-12)
A cacophony of screams tears through the city sometime before noon, seeming to originate from somewhere in Asgard's center. The force of the screams manifests physically, rattling through the streets like a gust of wind. The Travelers feel a brief flickering when their connections to their patron deities pauses.

When the connections are re-established just a few seconds later, there may be the unshakable feeling of something being off, even if that feeling is impossible to pinpoint. Immediately following this, all God Powers will be in a state of utter chaos; they will promptly begin to backfire - and badly - in countless and unpredictable ways.

Note: Virtually anything you can think of where their abilities work against them is free game. Powers can activate unintentionally, they can misfire and hit another person or the user themselves. It's free-game. If you aren't certain of whether or not your mishap is plausible, feel free to run it by us in the comments section below!

Also, if you would prefer your character not use their powers at all, this is also okay! But their powers will be corrupted if they are to use them, and they will still have that feeling of being wrong even if they don't.

Day 403 (Feb 13-14)
These power corruptions will continue all throughout the day until around nightfall, when Baldr will have had enough of the torment and will seek to do something about it. He can be seen seemingly floating above the castle as he stands on the invisible barrier and focuses his energy on the broken ties of magic between the gods and their Travellers.

For a solid minute, golden lines of dust that float on the air will be visible criss-crossing, tangling, and otherwise fraying all throughout the city. At the end of the minute, Baldr will give one shout of exertion and every line will abruptly pull taut; the Travellers will feel a tug at their cores, and that feeling of off will vanish. Their powers will return to regular function and Baldr will collapse for some serious R&R inside the castle. What exactly happened and how is uncertain, but as it's the second time to take place, it's about time to start worrying.

Who: Everyone!
What: The mingle log for Wife Swap: Asgard Edition.
When: Days 395 & 396 (Jan 28-31)
Where: The cities of Asgard and Alfheim.
Rating: PG-13. Anything higher than that should be taken to a private log, please!

Day 395 (Jan 28-29)
Soon after sunrise, a train from Alfheim arrives in the city packed with a few dozen elves and crates and crates of supplies for the city. After the city's natives assist them in unloading everything, they will set up camp outside the castle.
In Asgard:
During the day, they will spend their time helping to repair and reinforce the city where it is still damaged from previous attacks. Their unusual technology is built entirely around steam and clockwork, with zero waste output, and they do everything that they can to help the city in a display of gratitude for the help that they have received.

They will spend their nights sticking close to their camp, but are friendly and cautiously curious about any Travelers who approach. Overall, they are intelligent and well-mannered, and though some of them seem not to know what to make of these visitors from other worlds, their appreciation is open and sincere.
In Alfheim:
Not all of the elves who arrive will be remaining in the city, however. Soon after they arrive, they will make an offer to escort any willing Travelers back to Alfheim to assist them in rebuilding their own city. After the flames went out and the Giants went home, several of the elven homes were left in ruin but the true damage is to the forestry that is the heart of their kingdom. Those in Sigyn with Growth or those with energy sharing, healing, or other such abilities as well as anyone simply interested in helping or curious about a new corner of Yggdrasil will be escorted back to the forests for two days of some mutual benefit.

Alfheim itself will be in burnt disrepair but still very much bustling with life. Charred wood is being stripped and stacked, replaced with fresh building materials as elves work together as efficiently as they can to return their home to what it once was.
Day 396 (Jan 30-31st)
Sunrise brings another long day of hard work, but things begin to slow down and relax in both kingdoms as the sun sets. Each city will set up a feast in the courtyards of their respective castles to celebrate their victory against the fire giants, to show their gratitude to the Travelers of Asgard, and to cement their alliance in the war.
In Asgard:
The city's natives will ask the travelers to assist them in setting up dishes from their home world to serve the their Elven friends, but there will be enormous tables heaped high with food from this one as well. The courtyard itself will be lit up with long strings of softly glowing white lights that seem magical in nature. While their fuzzy light is cool to the touch, the air near them is warm, and that warmth radiates out into the courtyard to cut away the biting chill from the entire area. Round tables with modest but elegant tablecloths will provide seating for anyone at the banquet, and some of the more adventurous elves themselves can be found carefully sampling just about everything from the Travelers' worlds.
In Alfheim:
Alfheim's natives will provide food and entertainment in the courtyard of their own castle. This feast will be a little louder as the drink begins to flow alongside Elven delicacies, and the food comes accompanied by joyous song and dance. There is a lot to celebrate, and the natives here seem eager to include the Travelers here in that celebration. When the party winds to a close, they will supply Asgard's travelers with both blankets and small packages of food and drink for the late night train ride home. They will arrive back in the city early on the morning of Day 397 (February 1st), when the visiting Elves still in Asgard will board and head back home.

Rating: PG-13. Anything higher than that should be taken to a private log, please!

Day 387 (Jan 12/13th)
As much of the city packs off for Alfheim assist the elves against the invasion of the Fire Giants, not all those who have opted to stay in the city remain idle. Some choose to patrol against possible incoming attacks with so many of the Travelers gone.

Day 388 (Jan 14th/15th)
Beginning the morning of Day 388, however, characters still in the city will notice their powers beginning to go a little haywire. These short power glitches will happen throughout the end of the day and by late that night, things will have returned to normal power-wise.

Who: EVERYONE in the mirror!verse of Asgard
What: A House Divided mingle log for characters in the mirror!verse. The log for the real Asgard is here.
When: Days 360 - 364 ( Nov. 21 - 30 )
Where: in the mirror-Asgard, all across the city
Rating: PG-13 with warnings for graphic violence. Anything that warrants an "R" rating should be taken to a private log, please!

[ When the Travellers wake up on Day 360, they will find themselves in their beds, in their rooms, exactly where they fell asleep the night before, but something will be quite obviously off about the city. For one, the colours are all inverted, as though the whole of Asgard has gone grey again and the only colour remaining is in the places that were previously without. Odd, but not terribly damaging. It may be discouraging to think that colour will have to be restored all over again, but worse things have happened in the city. At least the city is still intact.

Or perhaps not. As the Travellers attempt to go about their business, it will soon become obvious that its wrongness extends past poor decorating choices. The city is near empty of all other Travellers, and the natives seem wary to interact with the few that are around. Communicating with them is impossible; the spell that translates all communication into Asgardian is gone and leaving characters to either speak in their native tongue or find alternative methods of communicating. The bracelets are inoperable and cannot connect to the network for anything.

Before long, as the Travellers attempt to figure out what's happening, other differences will become noticeable. Some Travellers' forms will have changed to reflect their true bodies or natures in ways you may not have been aware of. There will be a compulsion curse urging people to tell each other secrets and truths they've kept buried deep. Most importantly for some, their abilities from home will be restored. Please remember that no canon abilities used in the mirror!verse can affect the real Asgard in any way. What happens in the mirror!verse stays in the mirror!verse. More Travellers will start appearing by the evening of the same day, which may or may not be a good thing.

On Day 361, those previously wary natives will become outright hostile, attacking the Travellers on sight by any means available to them. They might even follow you home and throw rocks through your windows or riot against your workplace. You are strangers in their land and they want you out, almost as badly as the Fire Giants do. And there will be Giants, as they begin to fall into the city alongside more of your fellow Travellers. They will arrive immediately bewildered and frightened, attacking out of base instinct and desperation. As both the Giants and the natives attempt to drive the Travellers out of this strange version of Asgard, the sky will start sprinkling dust in random bursts, but this is by no means as threatening as the guy coming at you with a kitchen knife.

The fighting continues to escalate through Day 362 as more Travellers and Giants fall into the mirror!verse. Dust continues to fall more frequently and large cracks can be seen running across the sky, a bad omen for the fate of those living beneath it, a notion that will become literal by Day 363 when everything goes off the charts.

The colours will blow out of proportion in random places, some appearing like overexposed photos while others fall into black and white or sepia, or a mixture of anything and everything in between. The truth compulsion wears off for some, while other start to feel compelled even further to profess their secrets to anyone that will listen. Frost Giants will begin appearing alongside more and more Fire Giants and Travellers. The city becomes full to bursting with things that want the Travellers dead, until even the city itself starts ejecting them. Those whose canon abilities returned will die painfully all throughout the day as their magic is rejected by Yggdrasil's. As everything begins collapsing, the sky comes down with it like massive shards of broken glass that shatter upon impact and immediately kill anyone caught beneath it, leaving empty dark holes where the sky once was. Everything is wrong wrong wrong, and there seems no hope of correcting it.

At least, not from this side of the veil. Your fate will be left in the hands of another, and what they decide may come to surprise you ... ]

09 October 2013 @ 04:21 pm
Who: EVERYONE
What: Look! A Distraction! Festival log part one. The overflow log can be found here and part two of the event can be found here.
When: Days 338-341 (Oct. 8-15)
Where: The castle courtyard.
Rating: PG-13. Anything higher than that should be taken to a private log, please!

[ All barriers are coming down for this five-day event: both the ones between the gods and their Travelers and between the city and its center. The castle courtyard is open to any and all for the next five days. NPC booths with games, snacks, and trinkets fill the space both along and around the entrance with plenty of room to spare for anything the Travelers might want to set up for themselves. Music and food fill the air at a constant, with firepits and decorative torches burning at night to light up the courtyard in an earthy glow and keep everyone warm. There will be plenty of food and entertainment, and the party will last throughout the night each night.

The theme of the festivities will change with every day:
Day 338 (Oct. 8/9)
It's time for a costume party! Travelers will be encouraged by the natives and gods alike to wear costumes both silly and serious! Anyone needing assistance simply need to say the word, and they will be descended upon by enthusiastic natives ready to help and desperate to put the tragedy of Thiazi's attack behind them.

Day 339 (Oct. 10/11)
Familiar scents will waft in the air with the theme of the second day: Home away from Home! The visiting god Honir has made a push to organize food and music straight from the Travelers' worlds, and it will all seem absolutely and utterly authentic. The natives will be cooking and playing music throughout the festival, and will be encouraging Travelers to to teach others about their own world/time's clothing and culture.

Day 340 (Oct. 12/13)
This day is going to follow something of a Samhain celebration. Merlin, with the permission and help from the gods, planted the seed of an oak tree in the centre of the courtyard. By this day, it will have grown as large as though it's been there for a hundred years. Travellers will be welcomed to tie ribbons or letters to the tree for their departed loved ones and friends, whether they've passed on or simply left the city, in remembrance and a final farewell.

However, being far too curious about to whom they're writing, Honir will be going through all of the ribbons and letters when no one's looking. Moved by their losses, he'll be bugging Mimir into helping him perform a spell that will bring a sort of comfort to everyone. Characters can receive up to a maximum of three photographs of themselves with whomever their ribbon is for, regardless of whether or not they ever took a picture with that person or even had the technology to do so. All of these photographs will be candid shots of happy memories that will be waiting for them on the Travelers' pillows.

(We aren't doing approvals for these so please, limit yourselves to only three photographs!)

Day 341 (Oct. 14/15)
This day will introduce a festival game with the gods! As you go around to the various booths and attractions throughout the festival, NPCs will be handing out small treats to anyone they see wearing the colors of their patron god - whether you wore the colour intentionally or not!

The gods themselves will also be hosting another game of sorts: each of Asgard's patrons and allies will have a riddle or trivia question for any Travelers that approach them. Answer these correctly and they will tie a token of their favor (a ribbon in their colour or crest) around your upper arm. These ribbons can be cashed in for prizes at any time during the rest of the festival! (More details can be found under Day 341 HERE.)
The log for the fifth day masquerade can be found here!

The event guide for various events throughout the festival can be found here. Please include your location and the IC day (ex. Day 338 - this can be found in the schedule) in your top-level comment or your subject line when starting a thread! If you want to request a certain god, feel free to ping them and we will do what we can. Otherwise, have fun, and as always - let us know if there's anything you need! ]

Who: EVERYONE!
What: Bad Moon Rising: Week Four
When: Days 330-334 ( September 20-30 )
Where: All across the city.
Rating: PG-13, with a warning for death. Anything higher or very graphic should be taken to a private log, please.

[ Things have suddenly hit a breaking point. Anyone left on the city is still on edge, hallucinating, having trouble sleeping. The Natives of the city are paranoid and terrified, since more of them seem to die every day. The gods have announced that some Travelers are more tainted than others, and that to cleanse their souls, that they must be killed.

On the night of Day 330, things hit their breaking point. The nine chosen by Thiazi and Corrupted finally cross a final threshold, and the tainted magic takes complete hold of them. Their god powers are gone -- they are focused now with simply attacking the city, and they are no longer attempting to hide who they are. ]

[ OOC NOTES: This is the mingle log for Week 4 of the Bad Moon Rising event! Characters are still experiencing vivid hallucinations, sleepwalking, and fugue states -- but the attacks on the city that had been happening at night are now happening during the day.

The corrupted must be killed for their souls to be cleansed.

There will be two sections of mod-headers for this log: one will be threads of the corrupted just attacking the city, and will not be the threads where they die.

The other headers will be where characters in the city (eg, everyone still in Asgard and not corrupted!) will have the chance to kill those attacking. There are no signups for this, and unless otherwise noted by the character, these are a free-for-all.

Other than that, feel free to make your own headers if you want to thread out the events of the week without encountering the corrupted! Simply make sure to include LOCATION and OPEN/CLOSED in the subject. Thanks, and please let us know if you have any questions!! ]

Who: EVERYONE!
What: Bad Moon Rising: Week Three
When: Days 327-329 ( September 16-21 )
Where: All across the city.
Rating: PG-13. Anything that might go higher than that should be taken to a private log, please!

[ Things have only gotten worse as the days have marched on. You are now beginning to lose time: one moment, you may be eating dinner before you find yourself standing over your shattered plate on the ground, with no memory of how this happened. The hallucinations are getting worse, and weirder and weirder things are starting to happen in the city. The weather is getting cooler, and as nightly attacks on the city begin, even the Natives seem paranoid and mistrusting. The symptoms listed in the plot doc effect EVERYONE in the city, not just the corrupted.

It seems as if new disasters happen daily. How are you handling it, and what are you going to do about it? ]

[ OOC NOTES: This is the mingle log for Week 3 of the Bad Moon Rising event! Here your character can deal with the effects of the event or react to the nightly attacks on the city. Please keep an eye on this - it will be updated either daily or when new information becomes relevant. Please put [OPEN/CLOSED] along with the time/location in your comment titles. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns! The calendar can be found HERE for easy IC date reference. ]

CHARACTERS IN THE VANAHEIM OPT-OUT EVENT CAN FIND THE LOG HERE.

08 September 2013 @ 08:05 pm
Who: EVERYONE!
What: Bad Moon Rising: Week Two
When: Days 323-326 ( September 8-15 )
Where: All across the city.
Rating: PG-13. Anything that might go higher than that should be taken to a private log, please!

[ You've been on edge. Inexplicably, so far as you can tell in the moments after those short bouts of quick, sharp anger you've experienced in the past few days - but maybe it's simply stress from the recent attacks on the city. Perhaps some rest will help, or a nice day at Folkvang to decompress and gather yourself.

Whatever you try, though, the odd feeling of being off stubbornly lingers on. Anger is joined by discomfort, the shadows in the corners of the room just a little bit darker than usual and did you see something dart down that alley way? The hallucinations creep into every day activities, paranoia and snappishness leading to insomnia and sleep deprivation. Try as you may to ignore it, the symptoms only seem to escalate over time. Maybe it's stress. Maybe it's something else entirely.

But it's stubbornly lingering on. Perhaps some rest will help ... ]

[ OOC NOTES: This is the mingle log for Week 2 of the Bad Moon Rising event! Characters will start experiencing auditory and visual hallucinations alongside vivid violent thoughts at strange, innocuous moments. Some characters may start sleep walking and heading towards the Gate of Fog; none will make it, however, so lock your doors and keep an eye on your friends. Please put [OPEN/CLOSED] along with the time/location in your comment titles. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns! ]

25 July 2013 @ 04:18 pm
Who: Jack, the Lokis and YOU!
What: Prankster recruiting around Loki's halls, then it's time for some water (and paint!) balloons TO YOUR FACE.
When: Last days of the month.
Where: Starting at Loki, then all over!
Rating: PG-13 to be safe in case of cursing and possible violent grumps with no sense of humor. :|

[Fever. This damn world gave the Spirit of Winter a fever. Jack spent one hell of annoyed week, which only ended worse when adults decided to be adults again with their war and their killing and their neverending discussions about what's right or wrong. This eternal being has seen all that too many times before, and has already got enough for a lifetime or two. The battle against the giants made Jack think "to hell with Asgard!", and the whole mess with the spy only helped to make the feeling stronger.

After spending a whole day sleeping the annoyance away, Jack is healthy and ready to have some fun. Nothing like some good old pranks to remind those silly, responsible workers where the real enjoyment of life is (that would laughing, by the way, no whatever perverted thing you were thinking about!). He leaves his room (a miracle he has been using it in the first place) only to find the halls of the Loki house calm as ever. It's a bit disappointed really, shouldn't the prankster quarters be more exciting?]

I THOUGHT THIS WAS THE TROUBLEMAKING HOUSE!

[Yelling from the top of the stairs is obviously the best solution, right? He may get some answers, he also may not, but who cares. What comes next doesn't change: carrying a paper bag filled with all the balloons he got at the festival, Jack goes outside to look for water and paint... and some victims.

Are you ready to be wet, random citizen? Because that's one liquid bomb moved with telekinesis going for your head...]

((ooc: Ok, this is how things will go! There will be one thread at the top for all the people who want to join Jack's plans. He wants to recruit pranksters! If your character isn't a Loki but also wants to prank, we can say they are passing by the district and hear his yelling from outside. If you're here to offer victims, then reply normally to the main log! Mingling completely welcome of course, threadjack at will.
ETA: A quick reminder: the Gossip Girl plotting post is still open in case you want to sign up!))
