- Day 515 ( Sept. 25/26 )
- Progress through the ice blockade will be slow and narrow, as they can't possibly hope to clear the entirety of the forest that has been buried under Thiazi's black ice. Now that they know the source of her magic's corruption, it might not come as a great surprise when cracking open the ice unleashes a strange burst of magic.
At the halfway point between Utgard and Asgard, a pulse of energy will move through the entire city, immediately putting every mortal it touches to sleep. This part of the curse is mandatory and your character must fall asleep; the dream effects of it are not mandatory, and can be played with at your discretion. During this first wave, Travellers will be granted a brief dream - that does not belong to them. They will see, from the dreamer's point of view, every hope and goal and aspiration that the dreamer wishes to complete before the end of days. Whether it's simply confessing their love to an old friend or saving their home planet or perfecting an Asgardian pie, your character will see someone else's ideal resolution before Ragnarok. More on plotting this below!
Upon waking, the Travellers will be plagued with the indistinct whispering of several voices overlapping one another and a slight headache. Both symptoms will gradually increase over time until it reaches incapacitating pain and nausea. The only way to assuage the symptoms is to find the owner of the dream and either maintain physical contact for an hour or discuss the subject of the dream until a full confession has been made. After that, the symptoms will fade and the Travellers will be free to carry on with their day.
There will be other pulses of magic at random throughout the day; these are not mandatory and you can feel free to have your character experience as many or as few dreams as you wish. All dream-sharing will cease by the end of the day, as the blockade progresses past that centre-point of magic.

Awkwardly, he fidgeted with the collar of his jacket, pulling his headphones a bit further down. He hadn't meant to clean up, he'd just thrown this one on to make a change from the one that had been kissing the pavement for far more of today than he was proud of... okay, and maybe a little so he wouldn't accidentally remind himself of his flub earlier.
"...Yeah!" he said, finally. "Yeah, tonight." He cleared his throat, hoping it would clear out enough of these butterflies for him to regain his ability to speak in sentences. "You wanted to know what a movie is, right!?"
no subject
"And where are we going for this?" she inquired politely, idly twirling her parasol as she walked up to him. He hadn't told her, yet - not that she remembered, at least, for their earlier argument had pushed most of the details from her mind.

Crossing his arms behind his head with exaggerated nonchalance, Yosuke started to lead the way. This welcome hall wasn't as bad as some of the others, but... no, hold it, bad Yosuke, no letting his mind wander! Who knew when he'd get a chance to do something like this again!?
Still, only the slightly glazed look in his eyes would have given away those nerves of his, because it wasn't as if Yosuke had ever been in the habit of engaging his brain before starting to babble.
"As for what I chose... well, don't sweat it! But you'll get the full experience of contemporary youth, don't worry. ...Or something like that."
no subject
"Tell me - however did you come up wight he name of your building? It's very... odd." In a nice way, naturally - but still, quite odd.

Okay! That was a topic change he could go with before he got himself into a knot overthinking all of this.
"Ha, yeah, it's like something out of a commercial... Er, I mean, it's kind of cheesy. It's Souji's name, though. Back when we first had the idea, I was - kind of out of action for a bit, so he took care of that. You wouldn't know to look at him, but my partner can be a pret-ty big nerd from time to time -"
At that point, he caught his smile widening, and gave himself another mental shake. What was he doing, talking about Souji while on a date!?
"I got to like it, anyways," he added, a shade weakly all of a sudden. "It's, um... It's still kind of impressive they'd let a bunch of high schoolers rent it out to begin with, yeah? And you gotta have a name when you do this stuff."

"You must be a very capable team, to be allowed such responsibility."

Stepping out of the welcome hall and finally getting some more fresh air did help his nerves a little, thankfully, although he still couldn't quite relax his shoulders as they headed on down the street.

Yosuke and Souji must be close, for Yosuke to speak of him like this. Perhaps she could tell him about Lissa, later.

But he stopped abruptly, both in his story and in his tracks. "What the - how did you get all the way over here?"
Fluttering back down to the ground from where it had nudged Yosuke's elbow, the offending reinhare twitched its nose at him, and then at Maribelle for good measure.
no subject
"Goodness me," she inquired, raising an eyebrow, "is that yours?"
no subject
He knelt down, his clumsy attempt to safely pick up the reinhare distracting him from thoughts of his partner for the time being - and, briefly, from Maribelle.

Expecting the animal to poke an antler into his eye and squirm free at any moment, he began to lean back, and was thoroughly unsurprised to feel the reinhare's warm weight slip out from the crook of his elbow - but then he glanced down to scoop it up again, and immediately jerked his head round in surprise. "What the -"
- whoa. Since when had she been standing so close?
Oh man. That was it, he had to get up in a hurry, or else she'd take this the wrong way... And yet the different kind of warmth now creeping up the side of his face without his permission seemed to have beaten him to it, because the rest of him promptly froze.
no subject
This meant, of course, that she was not paying any particular attention to either Yosuke or his embarrassment.

But no sooner did he lay a bare hand on the creature's fur than a momentary burst of red across his field of vision prompted him to flinch back in surprise. "Gah," he mumbled, "frickin' thing..."
no subject
Besides, it appeared as though he was rather distressed enough as it was. "Are you quite alright?"
no subject
Belatedly, it occurred to him what a golden opportunity he'd just missed. Oh well. At least his face probably couldn't get much rosier.
He sagged. "...Should I just stop talking now?"
no subject
She shook her head after a moment, turning as if to continue on. "Not at all! Shall we move on?"
no subject
"Alright!" he said, doing his best to hurry on ahead and pretend nothing had interrupted him. "So, movies..."

And off he went, squirming reinhare in tow.
