Lux Opening [OPEN]
Who: YOU. This is an OPEN log, heck yeah.
What: Lux's Grand Opening
When: Day 69, all night
Where: Lux, in the Baldr District
Rating: PG-13 to be safe—If the rating goes up in a thread, please let me know!

It's been under construction for about a month, and anyone in the Baldr district (or who just liked to wander) surely would have noticed the bar's construction. It was only a few days ago that the sign was finally put up—Lux.
Maybe you saw the owner's post on the network and decided to come see. Or maybe you were just walking past and was curious about the crowd of people who had gathered. Regardless, you'll be welcomed into a ritzy bar and lounge. There are some locals mingling about, and jazz is drifting through the air, since the owner is currently playing.
Should you decide to stay, you'll find that the drinks and food are very generously half price for grand opening. Or, if that's not to your taste, then surely the music and crowd will make up for it.
Welcome to Lux, the bar owned by the Devil himself.

TALK TO LUCIFER
Call it a good mood for his opening night.]

Allow me.

I prefer my martinis on the dryer side. [His lips quirk slightly] Shaken, not stirred, as Mr. Bond would say.
no subject
I'm both surprised and impressed. [ Did I mention he's making the perfect martini? Johan knows his mixology.] No unpleasant incidents tonight as of yet. At a place like this, some would call it a blessing.
no subject
I'll admit, I'm surprised as well. I hadn't thought that my implication that those that might cause such unpleasant incidents would be more welcome at Sky's Prize would work so well.
[His shoulders move just barely, the slightest of shrugs] Yet, I'm disappointed, in some measure. I half-expected one of my angelic brethren to come in and attempt to cause trouble. Their intimidation attempts are usually amusing to watch. I offer them a top shelf, and they set it on fire to show off. What a waste.

They certainly seem a bit theatrical. I'd even call them melodramatic, though I've always had a distaste for those who had no skill in presentation.

[He tastes the drink, closing his eyes and bowing his head slightly to acknowledge that he did a good job. This puts you in a very exclusive club, Johan.]
But what they lack in finesse, they make up for in predictability. In terms of a drama, it's boring, but for constructing your own where they play a part, it has its value. They would be loath to admit it, but demons are more unpredictable than they are.
no subject
And so she watches. Not quite from afar but - certainly not up close. Mainly she's trying to stalk without drawing too much attention. ]

He stops by the bar to pick up his second martini for the night, then turns to face her with a cool, distant smile.]
Good evening. Though, if I may say so, I usually have the pleasure of making someone's acquaintance before they begin to follow me around.
no subject
Um. The word "usual" doesn't generally apply with much to me, I guess.
no subject
Nina's sitting nearby but far enough to keep her distance, glancing once in a while at his direction. She's trying not to look obvious, but it probably isn't working.]
no subject
So after greeting a few faceless customers, he makes his way to her table, smiling lightly with the cool and distant charm of a seasoned businessman.]
Good evening. Would you like anything? I'll make it on the house, if you would be willing to oblige my company.
no subject
Ah, sure. Thank you.

[His eyebrow quirks just slightly, his tone becoming just slightly self-mocking]
Though that would be my own preference speaking.

[But he leaves on that note, to return a few minutes later with two wine glasses and a bottle. He takes a seat opposite her, angling himself slightly because of the wings.]
The 2007 Fontodi Flaccianello della Pieve. It's one of my favorites, at the moment. It's also something of a novelty, since a wine from what would be a few years ahead of me, it's something I found rather darkly amusing. I hope you enjoy it.
[He pours two glasses in a controlled, elegant way, setting the bottle aside afterwards. Lucifer takes his glass and swirls it to take in the aroma, then taking an appraising sip. Obviously since he picked it, he's pleased, and sits back more comfortably.]
But to return to how this is self-serving, since that's likely of more interest to us both—You must be Johan's sister, correct?
no subject
Thank you.
[When he asks his question, Nina looks a little more serious. She's not surprised he recognized the resemblance.]
Yes, I am.
no subject
[He nods his head in something like respect, though it can't truly be called that.]
I'm sure that you already know who I am, but politesse would say introductions are still in order.
[Lucifer sets his glass down, extending his hand across the table.]
Lucifer Morningstar. The one and only.
no subject
It's a pleasure to meet you too.
no subject
And your name? I'm afraid Johan has never mentioned his family.
[Not that he would have really cared to know, if he had. It would have just been an irrelevant detail.]
no subject
[There's a pause. Johan didn't tell her much about his relationship with Lucifer, so perhaps she could learn more from him.]
How did you and Johan meet?
no subject
[He repeats the name simply, like the act of doing so commits it to memory. Lucifer looks toward the piano, displayed prominently in the bar since it's something of his personal focal point. He nods toward it.]
A celebration that the gods were holding. I was playing the piano, and he requested a song.
[His eyes meet hers again]
His song choice turned the conversation towards the philosophical, which is a topic I can always appreciate.
no subject
What song? And what was your philosophical conversation about?
no subject
[He doesn't necessarily expect her to be familiar with the latter, since it wasn't quite the iconic song like "Ashes to Ashes." But his pause is brief, and halfway elaborates.]
About the gods who brought us here, about perspective and about the tyranny of predestination. Among other things.
no subject
Ah, what do you think about the gods here?
