[While not the most perceptive guy out there, Shinobu rarely becomes engrossed in a novel, and it doesn't take him more than a few seconds to catch Euri from the corner of his eye and glance up to her. It's more difficult to not notice when someone is staring at you, really....

[Euri may notice that the book he was reading is actually a cookbook, though he's quick to close it and attempts to cover it with his hand as she approaches. He appears to be embarrassed that he's reading such a thing, and it shows in his expression.

[Cooking, eh? Her own skills vary wildly (from 'good' to 'horrifically terrible' depending on the dish), so it's his expression that's really catching hher interest. It's the kind of look that just screams tease me, though Euri is trying to suppress those urges in favour of that friendship checklist thing.
