[ he knows you well, eyes. have a nudge, even as they walk (limp). ] We aren't in any position to think about others, right now.

We might be better off, but the situation is still far from favourable.

[ ... don't be soft. ]

[Eyes doesn't have anything to contribute or an answer for Kanone's response. He knows he's too soft...]

... We're almost there. [They could make a quick run for it should the dragon attack again, at least.]

[ ... they could, but on the other hand, he doesn't see or sense anything from above. however, he does pick up the pace a little. ]

... of all things, I didn't expect a dragon. I guess I was soft, too.

Considering they don't necessarily exist in our world, that could be excused. At the same time we've both witnessed phenomenon similar to the current situation since arriving. [It was a lose-lose situation for them, as annoying as it was to admit.]

[ it... really is. ]

A while ago, someone mentioned some information on the mythology this place is supposedly based on. I wonder if there's any more we can uncover.

There are stories in our own world of beings with the same names as these 'gods.' If that theory is correct, would they leave the information to be so accessible?

They can't silence all the unwilling. [ a wince as he accidentally jostles his ankle. ] There's something I need to talk to you about, actually-- though that might have to wait until we're in a better position.

And how soon do you think that would be? [Kanone's wince does not go unnoticed, though by now they are at the entrance of the facility. Eyes takes one final look at the sky above them before ushering his brother inside, regardless of whatever complaint he may throw at him.]

[ and surprisingly, he doesn't complain-- though he does shoot a glance over his shoulder as they enter. and though they are now in the facility, he doesn't relax in the least. he knows the layout, though-- he's scouted this place before.

nudging Eyes gently-- they'll go down that hallway. ]

Provided nothing horrendous happens before then-- after the beginning of the rebuilding process. [ he makes a face, though. ] It might be a while, considering the organization.

[Eyes obeys and begins taking them down the direction Kanone had indicated, trusting that he would have done a more thorough physical search of this realm than Eyes would have. He listens carefully to the things he tells him, only vaguely amused when he makes the face. Even in these situations...]

The people of here have no established leaders, it seems. Those gods certainly can't, and won't be trusted at this point, and it seems few of them would take kindly to submitting their remaining freedoms over to a stranger.

[ it's because they're in a situation like this, that kanone can be so nonchalant, right? they're actually bypassing the main medical station as they walk, but kanone seems to know where they're going. ]

And it seems like the dragon appearing effectively postponed the talks on government and policing policies. [ he doesn't sound disappointed, though. fuck da police!!! ] I wonder how far they'll get.

[ that he wonders whether or not they'll end up going down the same route as the Blade Children is unsaid. his guidance leads them to a side-room. as they enter, he hobbles over to a chair, before motioning for Eyes to close the door. the room itself is unremarkable-- very much the average guest room for a spa-goer. ]

[Eyes is no less disappointed as he is about the delay regarding the policing forces those here types were trying to establish. If he were being honest he would admit to being deeply amused that they had even tried.]

It's merely a bunch of fools with little idea of what they're talking about. [After helping his brother to sit down he goes to close the door as instructed, standing there before him and giving him his full attention.]

[ he has to nod in agreement-- his brother's assessment of the situation is correct. but-- ]

That sort might be the most dangerous. Fools discussing power.

[ it's a bit of a warning. they need to watch the situation, and if it tips for the worse, they might even need to intervene. ]

Fools who may have to be dealt with for the good of everyone if it comes down to it. [It wasn't as though Eyes had not thought the social situation of this realm before, but seeing the first sample of chaos throwing everyone off course in person did not leave him very optimistic.]

Would you suggest we continue to observe, as we have been?

Observe, for now. [ a nod, here. they need more information before they can do something-- if anything, really. ] We need to know how many pieces are on this board.

[ in case other random pieces, like dragons, for example, start showing up. it could potentially be dangerous. ] But that doesn't mean we should be idle.

Sorry to ask you of this, but-- could you check under that mat?

[ he points to the one a few squares up and to the left. he hid some medical supplies, there. ]

[Taking a glance toward where his brother was pointing Eyes pushes himself up and walks toward where he had been directed, quickly finding what Kanone had described. How quickly had he taken it upon himself to secure supplies such as these?]

Did you obtain these from the doctor you mentioned before?

[ he watches eyes take out the medical supplies-- bandages, antiseptic, gauze, splints... shakes his head at eyes' question. ]

At the time, I didn't trust him to not have tampered with the supplies beforehand. [ a bit of an embarrassed huff. ] And I still don't trust him enough, now. I got those from a store.

[ taking the time to pull up the hem of his pants. there are already bandages there, but it looks like a five-minute job. ]

[Looking at that poor job, Eyes has to repress a sigh. Honestly Kanone, weren't you the one who tried to teach him better than allow injuries to be treated so hastily? With all the emphasis on 'try,' for they both knew how he has been with his more recent ailments.]

Have you succeeded in finding employment, then?

Odd jobs, here and there.

[ he can read that barely repressed sigh of yours, and his response is a sheepish smile. he was in a hurry, you know. he wasn't sure if you'd stay put. ]

Nothing too permanent, though after this is all over, I might something a little more solid.

How is it on your end?

[Except he actually did for the most part this time, big brother! And by that it meant that he had not wandered further than a few blocks in every direction outside of Draupnir and helped to put out several fires in the time it took Kanone to find him.]

I've been employed by my flatmate to the theatre I had been waiting outside of. It allows for access to a piano and social gossips.

[ ... at least it's within reasonable limits. and kanone looks a bit amused at this. ]

I'm sorry that I don't have the same appreciation of the fine arts as you do. [ a little laugh. ] Will you be having recitals?

Perhaps, if the theatre does not suffer damage from this incident. The native people of this city are a source of frustration. [There is no doubt that you would appreciate it more than these folks, Kanone. All they did was get in the way, truth be told.]

Would you be interested in watching a performance?

[ while eyes speaks, he's tending to his ankle. unwrapping the bandages, wincing a little. and getting fresh ones. ]

Of course. [ an embarrassed laugh. ] I missed your last couple. I still need to make up for them.

[ he said a long time ago that he would do his best to attend every single one of your recitals... haha... even on assassination days, he'd kill them before rushing over to watch. except yeah, it didn't happen recently. for obvious reasons. he still feels a little bad about it. ]
