END OF ARC 1: DAY 173 DOWNTIME

[Two days of battle have been harsh. The hospital and the Arena are both nearing full, and the smell of charred wood still remains from the few buildings set on fire in Freya district by a dragon on Day 168. Nothing is truly quiet, but this is another welcome break in the violence.

The only question is: how many more cycles can we survive? Though we did well yesterday, it's clear that we'll be wiped out soon if nothing changes.]

[With that, off Bianca and Lyon go to the wonderful land of Thor where it's filled with joy...and joyness. She does heed Lyon's advice on watching where she was going. While the adrenaline from making herself happy was working, she knew it was going to die down just as quickly. Must...keep...awake....

[Lyon places a hand on her shoulder to steady both of them as they walk, smiling a little as they proceed along toward the apartments.]

Hm...I guess it should be... [Still...] Oh well, I guess we can think about it when we get up from that nap! Maybe we'll dream up a plan if something happens!

I'd be willing to train you a little if you'd like. I give sword lessons at the Arena in my free time.

Really? Um...how big is the sword? I don't want to trip it over if something happens!

[Lyon briefly unsheathes the blade at her side to show Bianca. It's a nagamaki.]

Oh, oh! It's like one of those blades I've seen before!

What was it called? Um....a katana? Is that it?

Actually, katanas are a little longer than this. Mine is called a nagamaki.

Nagamaki... [She mumbled the word to herself]

So...what's the difference between that and a katana?

Mainly the length, both of the blade itself and the handle. The nagamaki has a larger grip. The blade is also much straighter, so you can attack from slightly farther away even though it's a shorter sword overall.

Hm...can I see it for a moment?

[If it's a blade that can attack further away, maybe it might be the better weapon for her!]

Be careful. The blade is very sharp.

[Lyon holds it out for her.]

[Once she gets a good grip on it, she makes small motions toward the floor to see how it works. That is how the sword is suppose to work right?

So far, it doesn't seem that bad. It seems light enough for her to easily move around. However, she still lacks the basic skills in how to use it. After a couple of minutes, she gives back to Lyon]

I think I might need to learn how to use to properly before I do anything with it! But hopefully I'll catch up to you!

Well, yes. You'll need to start with a wooden training sword before handling the real thing. But they have a few of those at the Arena, so it shouldn't be a problem.
