Day 274 || Odin District || Stiles Stilinski || Teen Wolf || Odin

He'd been shown the house he'd be staying at, shown his room (which seemed to share a bathroom with a girl, what?), partaken of the slide that Odin's house had (because come on) and had decided that staying in his room wouldn't be getting him any answers.

As cool as the (still girly looking) bracelet was, he didn't want to wind up wrong numbering the wrong person. He was still a little skeptical about being told he had powers now, and considering which one he'd been told he had, he wasn't keen on just randomly experimenting with it. Not in the house, anyway. Maybe outside away from people and living creatures.

Getting a feel for his new 'home' might be a good idea, so Stiles can easily be found walking around the Odin district, peeking around at things and possibly putting his pointy little nose in places that it shouldn't be.

"You seem lost. Are you looking for something?"

Jade greets him with an apologetic little grin, standing straight and folding her hands behind her back. Human, mostly, if one ignores the fluffy white dog ears perked high in curiosity.

He pulled himself straight from where he'd been trying to peek in a window, spinning around and trying to look as though he hadn't been totally creeping in said window. "What? No, I'm, wait, are those ears?"

His eyes were drawn up to the ears perked up atop her head, having thought they were part of a hat at first until he'd seen one move a little. What the...

"Huh? What?" Jade flung one hand to the top of her head, cupping one of her own ears, before she fixed him with an amazed look. "Oh my god, there are ears up here!" But she was left grinning at him after that, dropping her hand to her side and nodding, her expression visibly amused. "Yep! And you definitely are new, then, huh?"

She approached him then, though, attempting to peer into the same window that he was peeking inside.

Oh my god, she didn't even know she had ears up th-- Oh. Haha. Nice. Way to tease the newbie. He wondered if she was some weird kind of werewolf. Probably not. She looked a lot less murdery than any werewolf he'd seen showing werewolf attributes.

He moved aside when she came over to peek in the window, trying to look as though that was not what he'd been doing at all. "Uh, yeah. Like, today. Two hours ago." As if that would hopefully make whatever faux pas he'd committed less likely to get him bitten. Or killed.

"Cool. I've been here.. six months? Six and a half? It gets easier, I promise." Nope. Nothing interesting in there, and Jade shot him a curious sideways look as she stepped away from the window. "Which house are you in? Um- which color is the stone in your bracelet, if you didn't listen to the maid?"

"That's what they all say. Then everything gets totally messed up and I'm left wondering if people actually know what the word 'easy' means."

He looked down at his bracelet when she said that, even though he already knew. "Oh, um, gold. I'm in the Odin house, the one with the huge mega awesome slide in it." That was kind of the highlight of the house, okay? A giant slide.

It had been a while since Scott had felt like this; spread too thin. Isaac had landed himself in jail for theft and had specifically told Scott not to tell anyone about it. Isaac needed him to bail him out, but just when Scott thought things couldn't get any worse, Erica had sent him a message for help. Apparently she was lost and Scott had some idea of where she was, thanks to her sending a video message of her surroundings. He was actually calm about finding her until Isaac started talking about how to deal with seizures via text and now Scott was worried the worst was going to happen.

For the first time ever in Asgard, Scott really wished Derek was here to help his betas. Not that Scott minded helping Isaac or Erica, he obviously cared about them both, he just couldn't be in two places at once and hated prioritizing one over the other, but he had to find Erica first, then bail Isaac out later.

Forget Derek, Scott really wished Stiles was here. He could actually count on Stiles, unlike a certain grumpy alpha. Stiles would help him like he always would.

Scott must have wished really hard because when he finally reached Odin, where he believed Erica was, there Stiles was instead. If Scott didn't believe in miracles before, he certainly does now.

"Stiles!"

Stiles' hand pulled back from the curtain he was about to peek behind, looking for all the world like he hadn't done a damn thing. The picture of innocence. But then his brain started working and it told him that was a very familiar voice. It had to be, if it knew his name. Considering he'd just talked to Derek and told him where he could shove it, hearing what sounded so much like Scott calling his name had his head darting around, looking for the source.

And finding it.

"Scott! Dude!" Come here, Scott. You were getting the hug of all hugs. A big Stilinski hug, because the Stilinski men had no problem showing manly affection. "You got sucked in here too? That's just... great!" Well, maybe not really, but at least Stiles wasn't here all alone with a homicidal Alpha.

Scott happily threw himself into the hug with his best friend. Stiles had already answered Scott's question as to whether he remembered being here before Scott had even asked him. He was acting like this was the first time he'd been there, which Scott was used to.

"Dude, am I glad to see you." An extra pair of eyes to help look for Erica would be really useful right now. He couldn't let his happiness at Stiles' return distract him from finding the blonde, but he was definitely in a better mood now he knew his best friend was back. "I've been here a while now. Have you seen Erica?"

Stiles was smiling widely, beaming at finding his attached at the hip partner. The smile faltered just a little, his expression turning curious. "Wait, Erica's here too? So you, me, Erica, and... Derek?" He grumbled, the look on his face sinking to less than pleased. Great, so it was two bitchy wolves versus his kinda awesome one.

"And that would be a no, I haven't seen her."

"Derek? He's back?" Scott thought about contacting him but he didn't want Isaac to get in trouble with Derek for ending up in jail. As for Erica... well, Derek would probably just scare her if he was the one who found her.

"Allison's here too. So's Isaac, but he's in jail right now." He probably shouldn't have told Stiles that, since Isaac had told him to keep it between them, but Scott sucked at keeping secrets from Stiles. "Don't tell Erica where he is when we find her, okay? I think she's lost somewhere around here." He gestured for Stiles to walk with him while he looked around for any signs of the blonde. "I know she can usually take care of herself but she's different here." He clarified further, "She's from a different time. Before the bite."

"Derek's back? Wait, he was here before too? He said something about me being here. You know, I don't think I like this whole time jumpy crap. What if I died here before?" He wondered if that made this his reboot life. Aww, hell. How many of those did he have?

"Who isn't here?" Jackson, which was a plus. No one wanted Jackson here. Lydia, which was a huge minus, especially if Jackson wasn't here. "Wait, why do you think she's lost around here? And what do you mean, 'before the bite'? They can do that?"

He'd come into his home district on business, moving through it with a single minded purpose. Dirk is a tall young man with wild hair and a sword strapped to his back. It's a simple blade but it's his. But he knows a new comer to the grind of Asgard when he sees one.

He slips over the edge of the roof and lands, making very little sound. "If you're new, best place for information is the library, or poke around on the network through the bracelet. God house?" He is pretty sure the fact this one is in Odin's district means he's patron'd by Odin.

Stiles jumps back at the sudden voice by him, hitting his elbow on the side of a building. Rubbing it and wincing, he half glared at the guy in front of him. Who the hell ran around with swords, jumping around ninja-scaring the shit out of people? "Huh?" Oh, right. "Odin. Why?"

If this guy went West Side Story on him, he was so done with this place.

Many people run around with swords and ninja scaring people. Okay, not really. That's just a Strider habit. Dirk nods and points back the way he came. "The library is that way. Because this is our home district the natives that aren't grayed out will be friendly to you. So, if you get lost you can just talk to one of them to help you."

He takes a step back, giving Stiles a bit of room, and adds. "But it shouldn't be too hard to find, it's one of the biggest buildings and one of the few with grand double doors. Just a tip, natives of your district will be friendly to you because of the god that linked their soul to yours. Other districts, not so much."

"Library. Right." He nodded, hoping that would satisfy the blonde guy.

The native remark was a little unsettling. "So, if I go into another district, I could get swarmed by angry grey dudes because of the color of the stone in my bracelet?"

Maybe he should just cover that thing up.

[timaeus_testified]

Dirk shakes his head at that. "Nah. Listen. Think of it like being on a specific team. Natives that aren't gray here, love the hell out of you. You're flying the flag of team Odin. But the others will tolerate you but they don't have to be friendly.

They're not outright hostile, no one will be within the city." For good measure he holds up his own bracelet. Another patron of Odin. "Living in other districts is possible and safe. Sorry I wasn't too clear on that."

"Ah, okay. Got ya." He looked at the bracelet, seeing the twin to the one he wore. "Hey, no biggie. Better I find out now than later and wind up doing something stupid. Or assuming something that's not true."

Stiles was a big fan of being informed. He hated when he only went in with half the information. It was a pain in the ass and usually ended with him either looking like an idiot or missing something simple and obvious. Or getting his ass kicked. He didn't approve of either result.

Lucky (or not so lucky?) for him, Merlin spotted Stiles near the library.

"Stiles?" Merlin walked up to him, frowning. "What are you doing?"

The behaviour was a little odd, considering he'd been here for a little while already. Two weeks was it? And yet Stiles looked as confused as he had the day Merlin had found him back then.

Stiles looked over at the guy, eyes shifting around as he tried to see if maybe, maybe the guy was talking to someone else. Named Stiles.

Right.

"Uh... do I know you?" Because he was pretty sure he didn't. His encounters with people with accents could be counted on one hand and still have most of his fingers left over.

[dragonspeak]

"...right," Merlin said slowly. Unless Stiles had a habit of forgetting people that quickly, something else was going on.

"You got here a couple weeks ago, I helped show you around? You were with someone you kept emphasizing was not your friend."

[teenyoda]

"No I didn't. I just got here an hour ago." This guy was obviously crazy. Maybe he should just slowly back away and hope he wasn't one of the ones who could set his pants on fire.

Or worse.

Ah. Merlin thought he could guess what the problem was now. He sighed and rubbed at his neck.

"You forgot what happened last time because the gods usually erase our memories when they do this," he said. "It's a bit of a shock, I know. Did you at least listen to what the maid in the castle said?"

That there'd been a 'last time' did not make Stiles in any way happier. In fact, his lips thinned as he ran that over in his head. "What? The maid? Yeah. Something about Odin and colors and people. I saw the house. It has a pretty cool slide." But his joy over that was dampened somewhat over the whole 'done this before' thing. It bothered him that he couldn't remember it if he had.
