Rating: PG-13 at most for language, maybe. Only fluff in here.

[ When the visitors disappear in a much cleaner fashion than they came, a mixture of anger. sadness, gratitude and everything in between is left to fill in their place all across the city. It's heavy and stifling; the perfect time to get away for some fresh air.

They leave the morning of Day 294 ( July 12 ), piling everyone onto the train that'll carry them off to Salt Side for a couple days. ( Arthur sticks a little bit closer to Merlin's side; his last train ride is still fresh in his mind. ) The ride there takes half a day undisturbed, and the sun is still lingering in the sky by the time they arrive in the small fishing village. Plenty of time to walk around and shop before storefronts start closing or to catch the sunset on the beach. From here on out, everyone is free to wander as they wish, though don't stray too far, lest the oceans carry you off to the netherworlds.

They'll leave on Day 296 ( July 16 ), after a full day and two nights of relaxation and fun in the sun. The train ride is once again thankfully undisturbed, but the same can't be said for the holy city of Asgard. Something is stirring in the water - but for now, there are only cheerful farewells and blissful ignorance. This trip was theirs and no one else's, a rare and wonderful thing in a troubled land. ]

Okay, let's be fair. Holds the ball somewhat suspiciously. So volleyball. Apparently that's going to be a big deal in the future. ]

[ It's a good place to start, okay. Arthur cracks his knuckles and bounces in the sand a little, like he has any clue whatsoever what they're getting themselves into. ]

It's simple sport, Gwaine. Surely the Knights of Camelot can handle that much.

Oh yes, I imagine we can. [ Chivalry and shit. Nothing to lose but their dignity. ] I like to think we're particularly talented, as knights go.

[ Up waltzes Buffy, behind the two of them and not yet on her side of the net, in her perfectly awesome bikini with a smug, devilishly wicked little grin. She loops her arms over their shoulders and leans between them, looking from one to the other. ]

Well, you both have good hair, which is a start. But it's not gonna do much for you in a game like this. We're gonna smoke ya. Easy.

The enemy welcomes any and all fraternization, my ladies. [ This enemy, anyway. Arthur can welcome whatever he wants. ] Preface to 'smoking' or not.

[ Oh, Gwaine, gross. Arthur makes a face and squirms out from beneath Buffy's arm, giving his knight a shove while he's at it. ]

Talk is grand, my ladies, [ lol nope ], but they're empty without evidence to back them.

[ she holds her hands out to catch it when arthur decides to toss it over. ]

They're way too proper for their own good. We're gonna nuke 'em. [ She grins at Jo, because Gwaine and Arthur are just so painfully chivalrous. Super painfully chivalrous. ]

Why wait for them to give it? [ Buffy makes a lightning fast move and snatches it away, a wicked giggle coming from her lips. ]

[ Least gross, you mean. Chivalrous, he can't quite deny. Gwaine will go ahead and stretch while he's got the opportunity at hand.

Ah, that fond sense of foreboding. It reminds him of several occasions that ended with him being bludgeoned with a large stirring spoon. Good times. Mildly terrifying.
