Who: All the Whoniverse folks, and their plus ones
What: Eight is a bit Christmas crazy, and is inflicting it on his "family".
When: Day 378
Where: Thor 104 (Who House 2)
Rating: PG

A week before, everyone in the Doctors' makeshift "family" is sent a simple message:

Come to Thor 104 in one week's time for a Christmas get-together.
Bring a friend if you like.
No, this is not optional. Don't make me come get you.

When they arrive, they're greeted by a festively decorated house, twinkling lights and all, still covered in snow from the day before. The door is, as usual, unlocked so that everyone can filter in as they please. Once inside, the house is full of the sights, sounds, and scents of a huge family holiday gathering. A fire in the fireplace makes the house warm and cozy, and a decorated tree holds pride of place.

Grab a glass of cider or mulled wine, wander the house, find a conversation to jump into, or get some fresh air in the back garden.

But beware, Eight has been quite liberal with his use of mistletoe. Chances are you'll find yourself under some at some point in the night.

"I did! Underneath are sugar biscuits, you will try them soon, I hope, and tell me if you like them!"

"I shall," he agreed. "Though they smell wonderful already. I shall be very surprised if I'm anything but absolutely taken with them."

"I'll have to get you the recipe, it was in a cookbook. Oh ah... called 101 Biscuits! Isn't that a lovely sort of cookbook? I've not even gotten through 20 recipes!"

"I see you'll be kept busy for the next few months," he agreed. "And my gift? What did you make of it? Have you opened it?"

"Oh! Not yet, I'm trying to be patient about the matter because we weren't supposed to open until after dinner, I think? Well, I'm not sure if it was officially decided. In any case, I haven't yet, no, I do apologize."

"Well, it's after dinner now, so you can, if you like," he pointed out. "I'll wait."

She held out her hand to grab his and lead him back to the tree and back inside.

He left his coat behind him and followed her through. "That's it, over there," he pointed helpfully.

Alice opened the gift and grinned as she pulled out the dress and held it to her body, spinning about so it would "swoosh."

"Ah! It's absolutely lovely! And such a pretty color!"

Irving beamed at the reception his gift was receiving. "I'm so glad you like it, Alice."

[madcuriosity]

"Oh I do! I didn't get many dresses, which I suppose is because not many people know what I would like." She twirls again. "Very lovely green!"

"Then I'm very glad I asked!" he lets out a small laugh. "Merry Christmas, Alice."

"Merry Christmas, sir. Are you going to stay a bit longer to enjoy yourself? You seemed so quick to leave."

[becauseichooseto]

"I have enjoyed myself, you know," he replied. "I am quite tired of the day."

[madcuriosity]

"Ah, yes, of course. Well, a very Merry Christmas, sir. You will be alright going home, won't you?"

"And the same to you, Alice!" he smiled brightly at her. "I shall be fine. Don't worry."

"Merry Christmas, then." She offered a curtsy to him as a goodbye.

"Enjoy yourself, Alice," he nodded before taking his leave.
