Who: Riley and ANYONE
What: Riley is getting back into the swing of things and that means roof running.
When: D460
Where: Various districts...feel free to pick one.
Rating: PG for her mouth
Riley had been out of touch for a couple of weeks. Honestly, it had sucked because it had kept her from finding away to save Ellie or going down with her. It was a fucked up situation, especially with what her girlfriend knew about what her future was like. She hated that she couldn't be there for her back home but that was kind of the price of being, well, dead.
That really did come up a lot in her mind. Here she could do things for Ellie and be there for her but in the end they'd have to part ways because Ellie lived and she died. Perhaps she should have hated her for that, hated her for all the love she got from everyone too. It would have been fair really. Though it didn't seem like it, Ellie had it going on. People loved her and cared about her. They'd always put her first. Hell, Riley put her first too.
She was jealous. Who had actually given that much of a shit about her since her parents died? Well, besides Ellie.
Not a damn person.
Today, she just needed to clear her head. Then she could go back and be all smiles and laughter for Ellie again since that was what she needed. She needed her to be awesome as fuck and she had to make sure she had her head in the game for that. Which meant she was now running along rooftops, swinging along ledges. It wasn't anything anyone had taught her to do, she'd figured it out on her own and had the guts to bother to try. Practice had made her pretty damn good at it too.
Landing on another rooftop, she took a breath of air and planted her gloved hands on her hips. It was nice being alive. It really was.

Riley finally sipped at her tea. It wasn't as sweet as she would have liked but she didn't make a face and kept drinking it. It did taste good even without extra sugar or honey.
"What would you do if got the chance to go home to her? No strings attached."
no subject
"To forgive me, for leaving. For failing to save my brothers. For failing to save Father."
no subject
"Think she'd forgive you?"
no subject
"I... do not know. There are many who say what we did was unforgivable." Myself included
"And yet... " And yet, she is my mother, strong Nerdanel, wise Nerdanel, who saw clearer than all of us, on that day long ago
no subject
If that counted for anything.

"Ellie would have been a fool to let a treasure like you go, and that, I think we can both safely say, she is not." A breath.
"I do not know. We are the Kinslayers - exiled and dispossesed. I will never see her again, in any case. But perhaps a mother's heart has room enough to forgive."

She frowned a bit in thought, seriously considering the name. Then she actually kicked him under the table, right in the shin.
"Seriously? You sound depressing as fuck."
no subject
"I suppose I have become accustomed to speaking so. I have had little cause for joy in my life until now."
no subject
"Time to learn to talk differently then because think about all the people that like you who you hurt when you talk that way."
no subject
"Strange, how many are saying that to me these days. I did not look to find succor, and yet it has found me anyway. Truly, the One draws straight with crooked lines."
He shrugs a little "I have had a long, long time thinking like that Riley. But I can try, I suppose."
no subject
"Seriously. Just do it. You sound like you're just not capable and that's bullshit."
no subject
"I promised you I would try, herunya, and I will. But I have had lifetimes to think one way, tis not easy to swiftly change!"
no subject
Riley smiled and waited, clearly expecting him to do as he was told despite the fact that he had many, many, many years on her.
no subject
"Ah, herunya - I would have sworn myself to you gladly, had you been born one of our lords in my land. You remind me of the best of us."
Looking up at her he tips his head consideringly and then quotes. "'And of Maglor they said that he had no equal in skill save only Daeron of Doriath and Tinfang Gelion' - so I suppose if you wish for 'something awesome' - I am, and have been, and will be, the second greatest bard that Elvendom has ever known"
no subject
"See? Was that so hard? You didn't even explode or anything from admitting you're great."
no subject
"Yes herunya, as you say."
And maybe he cheated, for his music is the one thing he has always been proud of.
no subject
"Alright. Now do it again. No music."
no subject
A sigh, but he yields.
"I... I raised two who became lords of Elves and Men - one was here, not that long ago - Elrond of Imladris. I am, and always will be, so very proud of them."
no subject
Still, she waited for him to come up with something and threw her hands in the air when he did.
"Alright! Yeah, he was awesome so good job on that."
no subject
Wryly amused he shakes his head at her even as he packs a few of the tarts away for her to take back to Ellie.
"I am glad you thought so as well, herunya."
no subject
She didn't give a shit how many lifetimes he had going on. She was going to show him there was a light for him at the end of the tunnel too.
no subject
"Well, I shall have to be on my toes it seems, lest my poor legs be ever more bruised."
He shakes his head with a smile. "And you wonder why I say that the world is a brighter one with you in it. You are truly a marvel, Riley."
no subject
"What can I say? I'm a fucking flashlight."
She laughed at her own joke then went to go look at the box he was packing with the tarts.
no subject
"There, now you will have an apology gift if Ellie decides to be cross about the distribution of the last glass of Dorwinion."
no subject
She could always use more drinking buddies, especially now that Tess wasn't around for her to be following her rules.
