Who: Riley and ANYONE
What: Riley is getting back into the swing of things and that means roof running.
When: D460
Where: Various districts...feel free to pick one.
Rating: PG for her mouth
Riley had been out of touch for a couple of weeks. Honestly, it had sucked because it had kept her from finding away to save Ellie or going down with her. It was a fucked up situation, especially with what her girlfriend knew about what her future was like. She hated that she couldn't be there for her back home but that was kind of the price of being, well, dead.
That really did come up a lot in her mind. Here she could do things for Ellie and be there for her but in the end they'd have to part ways because Ellie lived and she died. Perhaps she should have hated her for that, hated her for all the love she got from everyone too. It would have been fair really. Though it didn't seem like it, Ellie had it going on. People loved her and cared about her. They'd always put her first. Hell, Riley put her first too.
She was jealous. Who had actually given that much of a shit about her since her parents died? Well, besides Ellie.
Not a damn person.
Today, she just needed to clear her head. Then she could go back and be all smiles and laughter for Ellie again since that was what she needed. She needed her to be awesome as fuck and she had to make sure she had her head in the game for that. Which meant she was now running along rooftops, swinging along ledges. It wasn't anything anyone had taught her to do, she'd figured it out on her own and had the guts to bother to try. Practice had made her pretty damn good at it too.
Landing on another rooftop, she took a breath of air and planted her gloved hands on her hips. It was nice being alive. It really was.

thor, around the arena.
Well.
Tris tried her damndest to shrug it off, but still she stood on the first rooftop she climbed, not daring to make the jump to the next. Luckily, perhaps, she noticed the other girl headed her way with some surprise. Moving to meet her gave her a decent excuse not to contemplate the drop any longer than she already had, at least.
"Hey."
She figured she'd at least say something.
"I had no idea you went up here too."
no subject
"Hey. I like it up here. Apparently, you don't mind it so much yourself."
Which was cool with her. It was nice to see people up on the roof with her like this since it meant that they enjoyed it as much as she did. Or, they were trying to. Either way, she wasn't about to complain because she wasn't really against company right now, even if she was trying to clear her head a bit.
Though, it looked like Tris wasn't happy to be up here so maybe it was something else?
"What brings up?"
no subject
"But I was gone a bit, so I couldn't practice." There's a visible tension in her, though. Maybe she changes the subject too quickly, too.
"Did someone teach you, or did you learn all by yourself?"
no subject
Which she didn't say since she had a question to answer.
"I taught myself. The military isn't big on this kind of stuff."

Odin
So much has happened in the past four days, and the weeks before that. Convalescence is something Desmond has always been rather shitty at, unless he's absolutely forced to, and so this afternoon he's scrambled onto the roof of the 'rents. It was less for air and sun, more for the desperate urge to know he could still do it at all, in spite of the loss.
He's called down to her from a higher ledge, customary hoodie draped over his shoulders like a makeshift cape, hiding much of his right side from view, saluting her with his left hand.
"Where have you been? I thought you went to Ginnungagap with the others..."
no subject
Whatever the case, Riley answered while she ninja'd her way up to him.
"No one taught me how to land actually. They don't really want us doing this shit at the school. Too big a risk that we'll fuck up and they'll lose a potential soldier. So I taught myself when I would sneak out."
As for where she'd been...
"Oh and I was grey or whatever you call it. Not myself for two weeks or so."
no subject
"Lose your bracelet, huh? Missed out on one wild party." By his tone, it was clear the last two weeks were anything but. Desmond shifted aside to make room for Riley on the ledge, letting his feet dangle in the air.
"Is that what they were training you guys to do, to fight those...fungus zombies?"

Hel district, around.
"Hey! Where did you learn how to do that?"
Forgive him if he's a little panicked, he just worries about people.
no subject
"I taught myself to do it! Who are you?"
no subject
“Ryoji Mochizuki! Who are you?”
Ellie might have mentioned him as some big dork that likes talking with her, but she might not have.

"Riley?"
Of all people--
...
Okay, maybe, of all people, she would be one of them. But still.
no subject
"Hey! How's it going?"
Might as well be friendly. She actually rather liked him.
no subject
Had she gotten used to his fussing yet? If not, she probably should.

heimdall;
The kid attached to them sits up when he hears footsteps, mildly curious about who's wandering around when he's trying to catch some z's. Molting sucks and he snags what little shuteye he can at all kinds of odd hours.
"Man." The teenager scrutinizing Riley is a lanky blond douchebag in shades, with black crow wings sticking out of his back. "If I weren't already bloated with runic wealth, I'd consider opening a toll booth." He might not talk to most of the people he sees pass through, but he knows the city roofs see their fair share of traffic.
no subject
"Isn't that one of those things where you pay money to pass?"
Yeah. Those were all run down and not working in her time.
no subject
"Ok, give me a clue about what kind of frame of reference I'm dealing with here. Like do they just not have toll booths in fantasyland and you picked that one up from a movie. Or is this a past-future deal."

"Oh where are you going,
And what are you doing,
O lady, milord Riley?
Such twisting and turning,
such running and leaping,
A fine figure you cut today!"
no subject
"Holy shit did you make that up just now?"
no subject
"Not my finest effort, alas, but yes, I did. Good morrow, herunya. Where are you off to in such a hurry?"

Elsewhere in Odin
"You move well."
no subject
"I like to think so. What's up besides us?"
no subject
"Little enough, I think," he said, glancing around them and down at the streets. No giants, no curses spreading across the whole city. "We can be thankful for peace at the moment."
