Getting to know you

When: Day 473-474
Where: The Citadel

[From the outside, the small medieval-style fortress appears unoccupied, but on the inside, the first meeting of Asgard's strike team. For the next two days, members are invited to get to know one another, share what they can do, train, or...you know, team build.

For those who wish experiment with working together, equipment has been set up to form an obstacle course of sorts that takes up half the gym area. (Those who have trained with the Assassins on their capture-the-flag courses may feel the similarities.) Plenty of seating is available for those who just want to mingle or talk strategy.

There are also snacks. Eat them.]

"Someone told me that men were supposed to protect women. I have no idea why. Last time I checked, anyone with hands could hold a gun."

Messed up as her city may be, that is one thing prejudice simply didn't come into. Her complete lack of understanding for the sentiment is obvious on her face.

"It was another girl who said it that one time, too! I don't think she was that much older than me."

Ellie gives a low groan, rubbed her hand over her face.

"People are supposed to look out for each other. Guy or girl, adult or kid, it doesn't matter what you are. You're either alive or you're not, that's it."

She breaks off with a cheeky little grin. "And here I am, dating a girl. Fuck, I'm doing it all wrong."

Tris can't help her smirk. "And I'm rescuing my boyfriend. We've obviously got it all totally backwards."

Not that he hadn't saved her before too, but that was hardly the point.

Ellie bumps her with her arm and starts to laugh.

"You wanna run the course? I'll race you."

"Sure, let's go."

And she darts off, not waiting for a countdown or anything, using the nearest opportunity to get up on a higher level.

"You dick!"

Ellie bursts out laughing and races after her, sure to be pulling no punches, what with that stunt. Cheating and foul play are going to abound on this run. Good job, Tris.

Laughing does not make climbing easier! Who knew, right? Never the less, Tris is scrambling up the ledge and decidedly not using her breath for answering, just running.

Tris might be fast, but she's not faster than Riley, and Ellie starts to close the distance behind her, vaulting up easily and bulling onward into the course itself. She's had the advantage of running it a few times before, already has a good idea of where to put her feet. She hits the climbing wall, scrambles on up.

She's not exactly graceful, but she's fast.
