Getting to know you

Where: The Citadel

[From the outside, the small medieval-style fortress appears unoccupied, but on the inside, the first meeting of Asgard's strike team. For the next two days, members are invited to get to know one another, share what they can do, train, or...you know, team build.

For those who wish experiment with working together, equipment has been set up to form an obstacle course of sorts that takes up half the gym area. (Those who have trained with the Assassins on their capture-the-flag courses may feel the similarities.) Plenty of seating is available for those who just want to mingle or talk strategy.

There are also snacks. Eat them.]

That's a pretty extreme way of putting it.

I guess I'd just feel a little bit safer if there were at least a couple of checks before stores handed out weapons, all things considered.

They did have a guy asking for knives on the network not too long ago.

That was definitely a thing that happened that was mostly funny but also vaguely disturbing in the whole, "even idiots like this" sort of way.]

Well, maybe. But my way of thinking is that if they're already a spy, they'd probably pass screening, too, unless you've got some truth serum ready. I'm more worried about people who have no idea what they're doing being armed to the teeth.

That, too. Stuff like guns, especially - seems to me that letting people who don't even have safety training with them is a pretty terrible idea.

Unless it's a real winner who manages to stab themselves on accident with even just a knife, but you get the idea.

Yeah. I've never seen anyone who managed that, honestly, but if it happens it might as well happen with a kitchen knife. Don't need weapons for it.

[She's thinking of when she learned knife-throwing. "Even I wasn't that bad" crosses her mind, not that she's about to voice it.]

People like that are probably just going to be a danger no matter what we do. But I mean, at least we can keep it from being anything too bad, y’know?
