- Day 515 ( Sept. 25/26 )
- Progress through the ice blockade will be slow and narrow, as they can't possibly hope to clear the entirety of the forest that has been buried under Thiazi's black ice. Now that they know the source of her magic's corruption, it might not come as a great surprise when cracking open the ice unleashes a strange burst of magic.
At the halfway point between Utgard and Asgard, a pulse of energy will move through the entire city, immediately putting every mortal it touches to sleep. This part of the curse is mandatory and your character must fall asleep; the dream effects of it are not mandatory, and can be played with at your discretion. During this first wave, Travellers will be granted a brief dream - that does not belong to them. They will see, from the dreamer's point of view, every hope and goal and aspiration that the dreamer wishes to complete before the end of days. Whether it's simply confessing their love to an old friend or saving their home planet or perfecting an Asgardian pie, your character will see someone else's ideal resolution before Ragnarok. More on plotting this below!
Upon waking, the Travellers will be plagued with the indistinct whispering of several voices overlapping one another and a slight headache. Both symptoms will gradually increase over time until it reaches incapacitating pain and nausea. The only way to assuage the symptoms is to find the owner of the dream and either maintain physical contact for an hour or discuss the subject of the dream until a full confession has been made. After that, the symptoms will fade and the Travellers will be free to carry on with their day.
There will be other pulses of magic at random throughout the day; these are not mandatory and you can feel free to have your character experience as many or as few dreams as you wish. All dream-sharing will cease by the end of the day, as the blockade progresses past that centre-point of magic.

She nods at him, basically telling him to spill. Seriously, she can wait for ages and it doesn't look like they have another option here. This one seems to be working anyway.
no subject
"I don't even know what to say!"
no subject
And she does. She seriously falls silent and lets him figure out his own shit as she waits for him.
no subject
"Anyway. I wouldn't actually... do it."
no subject
And she figures that's probably part of the problem. Plus, she totally thinks he should do it.
no subject
He can't do it. It's pretty ridiculous to begin with, but thinking about it now-- How is he supposed to bring up something like that?
"I can't control what I dream about, okay? What does it matter?"
no subject
She gives him a little grin but falls silent again after that. Seriously, she knows how hard it is to talk about the personal stuff but she's already come clean. Now it's his turn.
no subject
"It's not a question! It doesn't matter."
He can't risk messing up what he already has with Gon, what he knows is already a miracle. He can't afford to do that.

Riley sits forward again then gives a shrug.
"A lot of stuff means more than you think it does."
She sits up and shows him her Angel Knives shirt.
"Ellie got this for me. Anyone who looks at it would think it's just a shirt but I fucking love it." Then she shows him the scar at her lip. "Got this messing around with Ellie. They probably seem stupid to you but they mean a lot to me. So, if the kiss means something to you then it does."
no subject
Finally, he caves.
"How did you ask Ellie?"
no subject
no subject
Ah, shit. He's blushing a little, and tugs at the collar of his shirt.
"To kiss you and stuff."
no subject
"Ah. Well...remember that part where we had a fight? I ran away for awhile and when I found out I wasn't going to see her again, I realized she's all I wanted to have. So, I ran back to the military school, nearly got shot, and rescued some water guns. Then I went to get her and I took her to this abandoned mall where we ran around for a bit. She wanted to talk but I...I couldn't do it."
She lets out a sigh and looks across at him.
"But I lit up the mall for her because the electricity wasn't actually gone. And we went running around looking at all the things, pretending we could be normal kids for a bit. When we finally talked, I told her some shit and she finally admitted she didn't want me to go. Next thing I know, she kissed me."
Now, she looks down. "I didn't ask her or anything. I thought I'd fuck it up. She made the first move."
no subject
He blinks at her, surprised.
"She did? So what you're saying is... you actually don't have any advice at all."
no subject
Sounds like good advice to her?
no subject
no subject
She gives him a pointed smile. "An Ellie."
no subject
"Sh- shut up! That's ridiculous!"
It doesn't matter if she's got a point. This is definitely ridiculous, just on principle. What the heck is he supposed to say to something like that?
no subject
"Is it? Pretty sure you're doing exactly what I said and it's kind of fucking you over."
no subject
He doesn't know either, actually, and doesn't follow up, just sitting there with his face red and not sure what to say.
"I- I don't care. It's none of your business anyway. I'm not going to kiss him."
no subject
It's kind of an important detail.
no subject
He pauses, taken aback.
