- Day 423 ( Mar. 25/26 )
As the battle wages right outside of Asgard’s walls, the Travellers take to action in a near even split. This battle is not their own, and the defence of the city against being caught in the Giants’ crossfire takes priority. Buildings that are under fire must be evacuated, those incapable of defending themselves led to safety, the flames sparking over the wall extinguished; general rescue and damage control efforts will be given not just in the districts closest to the warring but throughout the entire city. When the Giants’ powers are to manipulate the earth and her elements, there is no speaking to the physical damage they can wreak in all-out war.
Which is why the other half of the city will respond in kind; rather than leaving the Giants unchecked to settle their struggles on their own, the Travellers will join them on the battlegrounds. However, instead of attacking them outright as they have while under attack themselves, they instead take under advisement a more stealthy approach of further pitting the Giants against one another. Many that stand to fight will weave in amongst the Giant forces and attack both sides from within their own ranks, so as to make it seem that one side is gaining strength over the other. Band together and take care to remember who your allies are.- Day 424 ( Mar. 27/28 )
The battle begins to escalate as the Travellers light fires beneath the feet of the Giants, pushing them deeper into combat. Things will elevate to explosive levels of destruction in the most literal of senses. Out on the battlefield, the ground will be shredded in a more centralised manner than the random cracks forming within the city. The earth will lift and shake and separate in an effort by both sides to divide their forces and crush them under the rubble, creating uneven terrain and crevices that can seem bottomless.
There will be areas set aflame, creating walls and barriers that entreat upon any caught in its path; other areas may be slicked in a growing swell of ice that entraps any that touch it in its grasp before icicles sprout up from the cold surface. Use your imagination for these sorts of attacks; just keep in mind that the Giants manipulate physical elements. Only the strongest among them will be capable of this magic, and the King and Queen themselves will be on the field, riding upon their massive black boar and white serpent respectively, to help fuel the chaos. The others will fight in traditional manners, and everyone will be under these haphazard and wild attacks. Consider this the climax of the battle - all things must fall.
And as things become more dangerous outside of the city, so too will it worsen within the walls as the walls themselves begin to tear down. As the Giants’ magic rails against the gods’ barriers, sections of the wall will be blown apart and cascade upon those living below. Residents of Asgard will be able to see Sigyn’s spell in place as a shimmer of green flecks of dust, the very same that has kept the Grey Sickness confined to Asgard and all outside illnesses at bay, begin to flicker and fade as the wall that encased it is shredded apart.
The majority of this damage will take place in the Loki, Sigyn, and Hel districts, as they are the closest to the warfare; Travellers and natives will want to band together to minimise both the damage to the wall itself and the damage created by its collapse. More splinters of ice will pierce holes in other various locations throughout the city, accompanied by random whips of flame lashing over the wall and alighting the sky. Those given to protecting the city will have to put up their shields and focus on cutting off the trajectory of this shrapnel as quickly as possible. Smaller cracks will still be forming throughout the ground as well, so tread quickly but carefully. This battle isn’t over yet.- Day 425 (Mar. 29/30)
UNTIL IT’S OVER YAY!!!
Through the Travellers’ influence in escalating the battle, the Giant forces will burn out quickly in their vicious assault upon each other. The battling continues through the night with little to speak of in the way of respite, but by sunrise on this day, their numbers will have whittled down by either death or retreat. Both sides have suffered massive losses, and when the only end in sight is headed in the direction of complete obliteration, they eventually concede to mutual defeat. They will return to their native kingdoms, the line drawn in the dirt between them taking the shape of the devastated battlefield soaked in the blood of their allies.
The damage lingers, though; the city is still in a general state of disarray, and the scars on the land aren’t soon to fade. As the Asgardians turn to picking up the pieces and the Fire Giants turn their backs on Thrymheim, Thiazi takes one last chance to strike a final blow.
Travellers outside of the city will be able to see a blinding flash of blue light and the sound of steel clashing as her petty cheap shot is knocked aside by Surt; those inside the city will hear a massive explosion to the southeast of the city. Upon inspection, they will find a massive wave of obsidian ice cascading over a near mile-stretch of the forests between Asgard and Utgard. The ice swells and splinters in crude crystals sharp as knives, slicing its way through the Gate of Fog as though it were only air. The majority of the wall along Heimdall district will be shadowed by this colossal ice structure, and the Gate will be completely destroyed as the pathway to Utgard is lost beneath this brutal magic.
The ice cannot be manipulated by Odin’s House Powers, melted by traditional means, and is roughly the strength of diamond when attempted to be broken away. Any foolish enough to touch it without proper protection will receive immediate mild frostbite that can’t be cured by any magical means and must heal naturally. Those that were around during the Bad Moon Rising event may recognise it; it is the same dark ice that was given to some of the Corrupted in place of their God Powers. It is the mark of Thiazi’s most corrupt magic - and for now, it is impenetrable.
Thanks to the combined efforts of the Travellers and their quick thinking, most of the city will be left intact and both Giant forces will leave heavily weakened, but the same can’t be said for the rest of Yggdrasil. Her land has been burnt, shredded, and frozen, and it may just be that her children have never been more isolated. The war is shifting and changing. The time to act may yet come soon.

Elsa l Day 424 & 425 l Open
[Charm is, of course, not really the most useful or effective of powers in this sort of situation, especially at level one as Elsa has. She can't do much with it but try to help calm things down, trying to do what little she can to soothe the panic and fear as the battle continues. Never straying far from Anna in the chaos, keeping an eye on her sister and determined to keep her safe.
The sight of the walls starting to fall sends Elsa herself in a worry, but she tries not to let it show too much, concentrating on trying to use her charm to stop people panicking quite so much. Doing her best to avoid the ice and trying not to panic at the memories it brings back to her. Hitting Anna. The coronation, remembering her own powers. The flames and lightning don't reassure her at all, hardly seem to distract her from staring at the ice. So much so that she doesn't seem to notice the ground, how she should move when more cracks appear.]
Day 425:
[Ice. It's everywhere. Or so it seems to be. Elsa can't help but stare, in awe and almost a hint of envy at the reminder of her own loss of her ice powers. She had just been getting used to them back home, felt free to use them without restraint. Her charm has nothing on something like this, and she reaches out to touch it, hesitant, tentative.]
425
[The familiar voice came from someone not far away. She was far from the only one watching the ice, looking at the hard, crystalline structure of black ice that stood against the elements, seemingly indomitable and indestructible. Samantha had been frowning at it and running her fingers over her lips. She remembered this stuff from the last time, and what it took to get rid of.
This would be a project to destroy, but wen she saw Elsa's hand approaching it, she bolted in the girl's direction, a look of alarm on her face.]
It's dangerous, Elsa! Don't touch that!

425 I think this is good to take care of what we talked about? :)
He wants to help with everything, especially the possible lost kids, but he's distracted by the blue light and the oh so familiar cold coming from the southeast. He recognizes that. He knows how terrible it is, how much he hates and misses it at the same time, but he can't help it - before he can think about it too much, he's jumping from roof to roof to arrive at the gate and see the damage.
All that ice. So beautiful, so awful at the same time. Damn Thiazi.
When he sees the young woman about to touch it, he uses Telekinesis to push her back. Elsa will hear a very serious voice coming from the roof of a nearby house, warning her.]
Don't touch it. It bites.

day 424/245 open!
[ Exhausted as she may be sleep is difficult, almost impossible. Near dawn you can find her moving through the affected districts, most often within Hel, kneeling beside the badly wounded and offering what aid she can to those that cannot move so quickly on their own.
Later she is with a young woman, the native pinned under a small section of wall from a nearby building shattered by an spear of ice. Above them the early morning sky is alight with flame. Another section of debris crashes down from the broken wall. From the nearby debris Dany finds a metal bar, wedging it between the ground and the wall like a pry - but slick with rain it slips in her grab and for all her effort the stone hardly budges. Not enough weight behind it and not nearly enough strength on her own to lift the section herself. ]
To us! [ She calls out to whomever is nearby. The skies brighten again, the air around them warm and dry in spite of the rain. ] Here!
425;
[ On this day she can be found surveying the broken districts and later moving through Heimdall - warily avoiding the outer wall. A wall of ice. Would it might remind her of home, had she ever known the North beyond stories?
Her eventual destination is Yakuzen Clinic, checking on the doctors and the patients that may have sought shelter there. ]
424!
I'm on it! Leave it to me!
[Skidding to a graceless halt a few feet behind the girl, he concentrates, involuntarily clenching a fist with the effort - and jerkily, reluctantly, the hunk of stone allows itself to be prised away from the cobbles.
As it rises, Yosuke does his best to shoot an urgent look at both young women without letting the levitating debris out of his peripheral vision. His success is questionable, but at least he doesn't drop it.] Both of you, get outta here! Hurry! We don't know when the next...!
[But they don't have long. In moments, an enormous burst of flame lances overhead, hissing through the rain that would have fallen on the ruined roof; the heat of it hits like another toppling wall.]

When he hears the call for aid he moves swiftly, gripping the sword at his hip - newly acquired, since he hadn't been wearing his own when he had died. She was one of the gaurd controlling and getting people to safety, when she heard Danearys' cry: her rifle and side arm on her just incase she was needed out of the city.
Hold on! [She shouts out, pulling off her jacket and using the fabric to add traction and help the two of them left up the debris. It's heavy, but given she was used to dealing with men twice her size: her leverage would've been better than Dany's alone.

Ellie | All Days | Open
Growth is probably the least useful power Ellie could possibly have right now. Even so, as the threat moves ever closer, she's pulled out the armor from the battle at Alfheim, a heat-resistant metal vest with reinforcements over her neck, shoulders, arms and heart.
Bow slung across her back, she makes her way to the walls to try to provide cover and any last-minute supplies for the people leaving to spread confusion through the ranks of the giants.
Anyone going outside the city may pass by her; if they do, she'll rush up to them and press a small package into their hands -- it's clean bandages, a roll of tape, and two or three large leaves of aloe vera. There is a complete seriousness to how she holds herself, some barely restrained, crackling energy she's struggling to contain.
She wants to go, but she's going to be more useful here.
"If you get burned, break open the leaves and put the leaf gunk right on it. It'll help."
424: The Walls
The attacks raining down have started to buckle the walls of the city itself. The fissures are the greatest threat, second only to the fire and shattering ice. Yawning gaps in the earth swallow the buildings closest to the edge, and rubble in the districts make impassable deathtraps of once-familiar streets.
All day, Ellie has been finding fissures, finding people trapped in wreckage and fleeing flames.
Growth has a place here.
Stepping up to the side of one of the one of the fissures, Ellie clenches her fists at her sides, starting at one end and beginning to draw it out.
Ellie rarely has cause to use her powers at full strength, but she does now. Beneath her feet, roots burrow and tunnel beneath the earth, interweaving and crackling across the fissures, stitching the land back together. It forms a temporary bridge, a path for those wounded and trapped to follow.
As she works, another ice fissure slams into the wall, sending chunks of rock hurtling through the air. Before the debris can hit her -- or anyone standing nearby, Ellie shoves a fist at the air, reflexively blocking. Roots explode from the center of the newly-created bridge, spreading to deflect the worst of the blast.
Thankfully, she's blocked the worst of the debris, but she's clearly getting fed up with this.
"Motherfucking Thiazi, calm your shit-!" she gasps out, and starts to cough violently.
424
There's a gasp, about to warn Ellie when she sees the debris flying, but Ellie takes care of it before she can even call out, instinctively. She's relieved to have her friend nearby, unsure what she would have been able to do to stop it herself.
And then there's the swearing. Of course. But Clementine can't help giggling through her own coughing at that. It's. Just typical Ellie and sums up the situation pretty well, really. Things really are going to.....well. Shit right about now. Damage over multiple Districts and everything.
"You okay?" she asks, most important rather than really acknowledging the swearing or telling her off for it. Clementine can't talk now, it'd be hypocritical where there are moments when she herself swears.

Irving Braxiatel § Open All Days
[Irving has taken things in hand regarding evacuation, a vision of calm in a chaotic scene. He also take the time to calm the hysterics using his power.]
424
[Irving's guiding them towards his own district, Freyr, and encouraging the set up of refugee tents and warm homes for those who have lost their homes.]
425
[Irving is best spotted nursing a nice cup of tea as finally it calms.] Quite a show.
Day 424 | Closed to Barty
So he's out in the city anyway, between the Sigyn and Loki districts, with Godric Gryffindor's fancy sword strapped to his back like it'll be any use to him at all. When he hears a heart-stopping explosion he sprints towards it as fast as he can, peering through the smoke and dust and debris at the mass of rubble strewn across the ground in an effort to find anyone he can help, anything he can do. He's trying very, very hard not to think about the last night at Hogwarts, of pulling the dead bodies of his friends from beneath fallen bits of the castle itself.
When he spots a man, somebody he doesn't recognize, with one leg pinned beneath a rather large, rather nasty chunk of the wall he hurries over. He seems to be alive still, at least.
"Hang on, I'll get you out of there." He hopes he sounds more confident about that than he actually is, as he reaches for the rock. It is quite big.

Ril =✈ Open [All Days]
She's wherever she's needed, and picking Asgard out of Natives seems to be her new past time. Sometimes, she takes breaks, long enough to refuel, to maybe breathe for a bit, naps when it's possible.
When it's all said and done, she doesn't care where she collapses -- or who she collapses on.
Fire Giant Posing - 424
If she could team up, however, with a single Fire Magic user or anyone else who could use more power, things would change drastically. Someone else to give them a boost regularly would be exhausting, but they'd find their power being refreshed regularly... though admittedly it would involve a whole lot of touching and forcibly kissing giants...
And possibly them.
Player Edit:
(OOC: I seem to have lost track of days, so while I know nobody's tagged her for this part of the event, she's only available on 424 for the fighting. On 423, she's succumbing to the pain of her tattoos controlling her demonic nature. Sorry for any confusion.)
DAY 423 | CLOSED TO STANNIS
/arrives 20 days late with starbucks
He rounds a corner, catching a glimpse of a giant. He is about to turn around, knowing that it would be little more than folly at best (possible death at worst) to attack the beast head-on.
That is, until, he sees that the creature already has a target. An all-too familiar target. And for just a moment, his brother is that young boy of six, for whom he roasted seagulls when all hope seemed lost. He was the man who haunted his dreams as the blood dripped from his throat. Renly might very well have brought his doom upon himself with his treason, but Stannis would hardly stand by and let his brother fall to this creature.
Not when he could save him.
He draws his sword, he charges at the giant. ]
im gonna cry i hate you so much (that's a lie)
The Doctor (Eleven) | All days | OTA
[ While the Doctor doesn't have any fire or ice magic, he's sure that people are very likely to come to need healing. And since he's one of the best healers in the city, he figures he might as well go out to the battlefield, wearing the Growth armour he used in the battle for Vanaheim. Besides, stealth like this is what he does, even if preferably with less deadly outcome.
But he's here, carrying a sword and a bow with arrows, weaving through the battlefield and looking for anyone who may have gotten hurt.
Or he can be found resting at the outskirts, and he'll be more than happy to provide medical attention if anyone comes stumbling up to him.
If anyone happens to risk getting killed by a giant one way or another, he'll (not so) gladly shoot an arrow through its head, or leap over and strike it down with his sword. Chances are he probably needs saving too. He's fairly good at watching his back (sometimes), but one never knows. ]
Day 425 | In Asgard
[ Once he gets back to the city, he's dirty with sweat, dirt, blood, and he's sporting a pretty good limp. Doesn't stop him from heaving off his weapons and immediately getting to helping people with clearing out wreckage and checking up on everyone to see how they're doing. Really, anyone he comes across he'll stop by and ask: ]
Are you okay?
[ Don't worry, he won't get close to the ice. He remembers it from last time.
Really, though, someone get him to get some rest before he collapses. He looks about ready to. ]
Day 425
Well enough, I think. How about you?
[The question is polite enough but he hasn't missed the way Eleven looks all but ready to collapse. It's hard to, when he's been in that same place himself.]

John Watson | All days | OTA
[ People are going to need medical attention in the city too, and that is why John stays. He makes sure to keep the Yakuzen Clinic in Heimdall running and spends a lot of time there, but he can also be found making rounds all over the city. He's marked as a medic, so if anyone's hurt, it's pretty noticeable. He's also got energy to lend, should anyone need it.
It makes him uneasy to have to just ride this out, and several times he's annoyed at himself for choosing to stay when he could be out in the battlefield. But he sticks to it, and stubbornly so.
On the last day, after Kate's call to action, he spends his time around the walls for anyone who needs energy (Growth users?) and to do what he can to keep them intact. He doesn't really know what he can do, so he's just here in case people do need help, pretty much.
Once the battle finally calms down, he collapses onto the ground, just to rest for a few minutes. Leans back against a wall and closes his eyes. Dozes a bit, probably. And as soon as he's done that, he hops back onto his feet, and moves over to the ice to make people stay away from it. Or take care of the frostbite of anyone who touches it. ]
All Days | OTA
[He's not much of a fighter--it's foreign to his nature, and he's not very practiced with the fire magic he was given, by his own (perfectionist) standards. With a little preparation, he's out there with the rest, using various flammable materials to cause as much damage as possible, and actually seems to be breathing fire once or twice. It's a trick he's willing to share.]
[Of course, all it takes is a unfortunate gust of wind for him to singe himself. Bad luck, that.]
[On the second day he actually manages to kill a giant later in the afternoon, with a few bullets. Guns are all he knows, although the higher tech and nonlethal one on him when he arrived in Asgard stopped working It's the first time he's fired to kill a sentient being before. It takes very little time for him to decide he'll try not to do it again.]
Day 425 - Inside
[On the third day, he's leaving the battlefield in poorer health than when he joined. He didn't want to bother those who could heal, and he may have overestimated himself a tad bit.]
[Sleep will be nice too. He has trouble enough falling asleep when he's not in danger, so he simply stayed awake.]
425
He spots him shortly after getting back into the city, and moves over to clap a hand on his shoulder. He's exhausted, and not hiding it as well as he'd like, but at least he's on his feet. ]

Yuusuke Sagami | Day 423 and 425
[My, isn't this an interesting sight. Yuusuke can be found in the battle proper, but only by those who may also be sneaking about; he is always under some sort of cover, whether it's a large rock or debris, or even the branches or trunk of a tree. But he seems to know what he's doing in terms of hiding at least, because never does he seem to be spotted by the giants around.
Of course, that might be because they're so distracted with suddenly losing balance as they take their swings, their blades and clubs whizzing over their enemies' heads and instead meeting those of the other giant race.
As minor fights break out over this, Yuusuke simply continues to hide, a cocky grin on his face. If he spots your character staring, he'll give you a jaunty wave before settling a lip over his fingers in a "shh" motion.
It's not until the giants have moved away that he moves to your characters' side, assuming they haven't gone ahead and come to him.]
Yo.
[425]
[The battle is over with... for now, at least. Yuusuke had wanted to retreat to his room in Loki for a break after the past few days' fighting, but after taking in the damage done, he decides that perhaps it would be best to find another place to catch a short snooze.
Which is why, instead of helping with relief efforts, he might be spotted in the crook of a tree in Odin district slightly singed and soundly asleep. However, should anyone approach, he will be coincidentally roused by a faint mew of a stray cat nearby.
...It was just a stray, right?]
...? Did you want something?
days 423 - 425, ota
[Bucky slips out past the wall, carrying a knife, a handgun, a sniper rifle, and two different kinds of bullets, enough of both kinds to last him a few days if he doesn't waste too many, as well as a pack full of food--jerky and sandwiches, mostly. His shoulder still throbs somewhat, but it's not as bad as it was, and hell, he can't sit on the sidelines while everyone else is out risking their necks to keep the city safe. So he slips away, picks out a perch high enough and far enough, and settles there before he starts picking off giants.
He moves, every so often, never staying in one place for too long, just in case someone realizes there's a sniper somewhere nearby and figures out where he is. He's quiet when he does so, his rifle slung across his back, a gun in hand and a knife sheathed in his belt. He feels exposed, without the Howling Commandos at his back and Steve in front, but he pushes that feeling away for later.
There's a war on, after all, and as the next day dawns he's halfway through his stock of bullets, there's blood on his knife, and he's eaten about a quarter of the food he brought along with him. He's also cursing every so often because either the giants are wising up, he's getting careless or he just keeps getting caught in some of the more magical attacks without much preparation--he's lost count of how many times his foot has almost gotten totally encased in ice, of how many balls of fire and actual boulders he's narrowly avoided, and of every other magical attack he's nearly found himself caught in.
Help a guy out.]
[day 425]
[Once everything is done, Bucky drags himself back to the city--and we do mean "drag", since he looks half-ready to pass out. Sometime during the battle he lost his knife and picked up a wicked dagger off a corpse, so that's what he's got attached to his belt now. He's dirty, grimy, bruised and wounded and battered, but he's still alive, and the city's still standing.
When he's finally managed to nap for a little while and afterwards get his injuries seen to at the hospital, he'll make a beeline for a bar. For once he's not looking to pick someone up--no, instead he just needs to drink for a little while and shoot the shit with someone, because now that the battle's done, he can't help but start missing the people he once fought alongside.]
day 424
However, she's still capable of firing a bow, and being an archer means she doesn't have to be right up on the frontlines, so she hasn't retreated back to the city yet. Hawkeyes are nothing if not stubborn.
She's moving cautiously around the edges of the battlefield, retrieving her arrows from the corpses of giants, when she catches a movement out of the corner of her eye. She doesn't even consciously register it before she has an arrow to the string of her bow, and she whips around to face the apparent threat. Most things out here are threats... but this is a human, and someone she recognizes, no less. ]
Bucky. God, make some noise or something. You could get shot.
