Samantha nodded. "That much seems obvious. This thing's moving fast, and there's a whole heap of a lot of people here that are already sick," she grunted. "I don't know that the hospital can really take that many more if this gets a whole lot bigger."

She pinched the bridge of her nose, shaking her head. "Have we tried any of the local herbs, the ones that are supposed to have unique properties? I know everything I've heard has been tried is only treating symptoms, not the disease."

"Good call," she said, grabbing whatever she needed to carry with her and joining him. She looked non the worse for wear, but it was very hard to tell with her. The potion had a way of making everything 'look' ok, even when it really wasn't.

"Do you want me to help out in the next day or so over at the hospital or the clinic more? I'm sure if it's as bad as I'm starting to think everywhere's going to need help," she considered.

"Yeah, I had a feeling you might say that," she admitted. "Much as I dislike Euri, I can put that aside if it's this serious, and Draco's tolerable if he hasn't headed out for the shopping trips. Either way, you're right. We've only got a few alchemists runing around here."

She grunted as she stepped out into the street. She wanted to avoid causing too much of a commotion. Hopefully there weren't mobs.

"He surprised me too," she admitted. "Showed up on my radar when the two of them were selling their sleeping draughts the other day, so apparently he's actually pretty damned good at this. There might be a few more, but for the moment they're the two I know."

She kept pace with him, and for all intents and purposes she looked even less like a doctor or research assistant. In truth, it was debatable whether or not she even owned formal clothes. She seemed to perpetually prefer denim and t-shirts or similar casual garb, at least now that she wasn't at the clinic. At best, she could manage slacks and a blouse. It definitely kept the image that they weren't here for medical business up.

"I'm on board," she said, nodding to that. "Like I said, I think she's a bitch, but I'll work with her. This isn't a normal time, and there's no reason we shouldn't work together on this."

And then, she thought of something. There was a frown and she considered. "Oh, you mean after we figure this situation out, don't you? Yeah... I can be civil to her. It probably wouldn't hurt to have something like that. There's probably a few topics to talk about anyway."

It had gotten worse recently, very recently. In fact, the difference in her tone towards Euri was markedly worse than the mild annoyance she had displayed when she had been at the clinic more regularly. She caught the raised eyebrow and shrugged. "She needs to learn to know when to keep her big yapper shut about who should and should not be working with potions, in my humble opinion," she muttered as an explanation.

"I think you'd be right, though. This isn't the last time something like this could happen. During the heat of fighting, even if I end up on the front lines, we need lines of communication, and not just between the powered healers. They're going to be hard pressed as is. I'm... working on potions like the one I took. Wolfnettle's got some properties that could boost stamina, but it's got a nasty kick when it wears off. I'm not sure I like the idea of just giving it to whoever. Someone foolish could seriously hurt themselves over-extending. I think we've both met some would-be martyrs who don't know when to stop already."

"I might just come to that class. I've got training, but not that much formal," she said, scratching at the back of her head. "I think we need to be careful not to over-rely on the people with healing powers. That stubbornness can be a problem on a lot of levels."

He was right to look at her like that right then. She wasn't likely to go too far this time. However, she was also the sort to not realize she'd gone too far before it was too late.

Samantha didn't pay too much direct attention to any of the more furtive or hostile glances. They weren't directed at the travelers specifically so much as at the world at large. It was understandable, and it was also something she couldn't fix. Worrying about it wouldn't help in the slightest, and pretending that everything was normal helped keep people from noticing her.

"On everyone, really," she muttered. "A straight up fight would have been better. I think folks could handle that more easily."

Samantha nodded, keeping pace with him. She had a wary look to her as they neared the hospital, but kept her peace. For now, the problems that would come to the area from the nervous and fidgety would remain relatively calm, though that would change soon enough.
