END OF ARC 1: DAY 169-170 DOWNTIME

[The first battle is over, but the second will begin any time. For two days, the enemy forces will remain on the other side of the battlefield, working on strategy and tending to their wounded. Both sides have taken heavy losses, and the Arena is full of the hurt and dying.

The battlefield itself has turned to a bloody, muddy mess. The elves will be asking the Army Engineers group and anyone else willing to help them lay timber and gravel out to make the ground easier to walk on for the next battle.

What will you do in your breathing space? Keep working, mourn your losses, or retreat from the horrors of war?]

[Naminé wouldn't be the only one interested in overlooking the city from the highest point of the arena. Pausing from his walk when she came into view out of the corner of his eye, Eyes quietly decides to turn on his heel and make his way over, until he was almost next to her. His gaze is focused on the aftermath of the first battle, which he was grateful to emerge from with few injuries.]

[The girl smiles right back. (And hey! He can be useful, he just needs the right encouragement.]

If that suits you, I'm sure we'd all really appreciate it. You can ask around and see if anyone needs you to get anything for them. Or-- I suppose you can stick with me, if you'd like, but I don't know if I can keep you busy the whole time. [She's one busy healer, but since she's also at a high level, she doesn't require as many supplies to supplement her magic.]

You should stay here, too! With me! [If she's going to be stuck in here, then she at least wants to be sure he'll be safe too.]

Maybe we'll just have to ask for wood from others... [But the problem is would they be able to get enough in time?] ...Is there nothing we can do about it?

It looks painful. [ Not that she knows what pain feels like. But has definitely seen it, heard it. ] Why do you sacrifice yourself for the sake of others?

[ He's human, so she doesn't understand. ]

Right.

[For the best, she thinks - less time spent wounded and less time spent exposing poor Roxas sensitive Nobodies to said wounds. She's just about to start again when Roxas speaks up and she looks back over at him. -- Ah, yes. Whoops, she was a bit distracted just trying to patch things up.]

-- Yes, please, Roxas...! If Lea can spare you for a moment. [She casts said redhead a little smile (still trying to keep this as light as possible for the sakes of all parties involved).] Good thinking. Could you go and ask for some things to clean him up with? Over there. [Here, have a gesture at the supply station.] They'll know what to give you.

[ once alisa spots shinji opening the emergency door, she can't help but ask-- ]

Is this robot yours, sir?

[ He pauses ] Hey. You sure you're alright?

[Eyes had seen Hibiki rushing around in an attempt to tend to help the injured, and rather than confront her about it he had found himself preoccupied with checking on other matters and people. There were also his own injuries to take into account, which thankfully were minor and definitely manageable, but he had a feeling that it he approached Hibiki with them right away she would try to tend to them needlessly.

In hindsight it had been a poor decision, and it had led him to seek her out when he notices just how much distress and exhaustion her small body held. He doesn't call out her name or attempt to draw her attention, rather he is already there at her side with a look that allows for enough disapproval at her straining herself to surface, but is for now outweighed by the concern.]

Wait, what?? [ NO EURI he can't he is doing evil things ok ]

Well, you'd be able to stay safe here, too....

What kind of work?

Well, I could still raise this barrier- but... I'm afraid you can just watch.

[ A pause. ] Or.. maybe give me indications as to which areas I should cover.

[ A heavy sigh. ]

I don't like it either, but it's inevitable, and all we can do is control the damage as much as we possibly can.

Me neither. Even if I've been here for nearly four months by now, I feel like I only know a small part of what this world is like. [ Being sheltered in this city surely isn't helping, either. Not to mention the gods' attitude towards all of them... ]

Just stuff alright??

"Huh...?"

It takes her a moment to place the voice, but once she does she gives a tired wave.

"Doctor! Yes, I'm fine..."

At least people are making sure she doesn't die of exhaustion-!

[It takes her a moment to register there's someone next to her at all. She feels kind of dizzy...]

R-Rutherford...-san? Is that you?

Why's it... have to happen...?

[Naminé is not, perhaps, at her most rested and aware, and the company is unexpected besides, so when she turns upon realizing someone is next to her, her eyes are slightly wide. Not as much as they might otherwise be, however; she is too tired to react as sharply as she would on another day. She blinks up at Eyes, and upon recovering from her surprise - which doesn't take her long - she offers a small but warm smile.]

... It's a lovely view. Except-- I wish I'd found it sooner. When things weren't so... complicated. [By which she means when there wasn't a battle for there to be an aftermath of. The city itself, however, is much more welcome a sight.]

-- Yes. I'm sorry, I guess-- I'm too used to needing to keep an eye on things. [Too much to worry about and look at and get distracted by, which is... way easier than it usually is right now. Whoops.]

[ ...on the heater, or the fumbling mass of Shinji on the floor. Her pick, really, but the heater might be less inclined to stick to her sole.

Meanwhile, Shinji will be (slowly) picking himself up now. ]

[ And surely the fact that a giant mecha seems to be slow-motion!trailing her can't be of much help.

[ Trust the semi-busted speakers to ruin an otherwise suspense-driven chase scene.
