END OF ARC 1: DAY 171-172 BATTLE
[At dawn of Day 171, the battle begins again. It's the same as before, only both sides' troops are better organized. The first day will go badly: losses will be heavy, as the forces of Asgard as their allies seem overwhelmed by the numbers and ferocity of their opponents. The more battle-ready gods themselves can be seen openly on the battlefield today (Thor, Heimdall, Baldr, & Freya as melee. Loki, Sigyn, & Hel as mostly-unseen magical support. Freyr is still on a boat.). At night the battle pauses for a few brief hours, only long enough to bring in the wounded and the dead.
However, on Day 172, things begin to look up again. Another wave of reinforcements arrives, this time a large army of mostly human but partly elven forces, along with a few leaders who can quickly be pointed out as gods. This new army helps turn the tide, and this day goes well for the "good" side (though only by a slim margin).
But it still isn't over. In fact, it seems like it could draw out for a long time, until every bit of Asgard's side is destroyed.]
[ooc note: this is the catch-all log for Days 171-172 (Nov 8-11)! It includes the battle, but can be used for anything going on in the city, for medics, etc. Anything that isn't in the shelter can go here.
The shelter log is here. The Day 173 downtime log is here. Please be sure to include the day/time of day in the subject line of top-level threads. Also, be sure to have read the entire plot post.
There is a timeline of all important posts in the ooc comm here. If you have plot questions, please submit them to the plot post so everyone else can get the answers. Thank you!]

Nakama, are you all right? Stay there!
[Her eyes do not move from the enemies in front of her at any moment, not even while she speaks to her friend. Lyon's voice is as cold and steely as the blade she wields, and she patiently waits for her opponents to attack. The first strike is expertly parried, a quick riposte following soon after and dispatching the first imp in a single strike. From there, she moves seamlessly into an attacking stance, closing the distance with the second and striking it down. The third, sensing it is outmatched, takes off in the opposite direction. Only after looking around to see that the coast is clear for the moment does Lyon sheathe her blade and head over to give Nakama a hand up.]
Stay with me. I'll protect you.

There's no time to think of that, though, because then Lyon is helping her up and she must once again get her head into the battle.]
Thank you, Lyon. [Grimly.] I have to get back to Castiel and Daphne. I'm useless without a healer with me.

[It's not a request, but more of a command. Lyon doesn't want to lose a friend in this battle, even if it is Nakama's last one either way. A knight protects, and that is exactly what Lyon intends to do. There will be no one dying on her watch.]

Which way should we start?

[Lyon helps her up with her free hand, immediately moving back into a defensive posture once she's confirmed that Nakama is all right.]
