END OF ARC 1: DAY 173 DOWNTIME
[Two days of battle have been harsh. The hospital and the Arena are both nearing full, and the smell of charred wood still remains from the few buildings set on fire in Freya district by a dragon on Day 168. Nothing is truly quiet, but this is another welcome break in the violence.
The only question is: how many more cycles can we survive? Though we did well yesterday, it's clear that we'll be wiped out soon if nothing changes.]
[ooc note: this is the catch-all log for Day 173 (Nov 12-13). There is no battle, but there are a lot of general npc wounded of all different species (some of which are outlined here). You can find the battle log for Days 171-172 here, and the shelter log here.
Please be sure to include the day/time of day in the subject line of top-level threads. Also, be sure to have read the entire plot post.
There is a timeline of all important posts in the ooc comm here. If you have plot questions, please submit them to the plot post so everyone else can get the answers. Thank you!]

Daylight Hours 173
In the worst of situations, opportunity strikes. Samantha, armed with her kusari-gama, but more importantly a heavy backpack and several satchels, is leaving the gates and sneaking towards the crashed and downed corpse of one of the massive dragons brought low in the fighting. The thing, far too large to be moved while in the middle of the battle, nevertheless remains an impressive obstacle to the fighting, and the sort of thing that most would steer clear of.
The red-head, however, has other plans. As long as she can stay largely out of sight, there's the potential for new weapons. Regardless of whether or not it feels like the world's about to end, she's not the sort to give up, or leave any weapon she can get unused.
Option B
Samantha spends what time she does not spend on scavanging helping out the wounded. The supplies of poultices are growing considerably less at this point, but she still has medical and first aid training to lend to this. The whole situation is taking its toll on her emotionally, but she doesn't want to show it.
Option C
Eventually, everyone must rest. Lunchtime is about the only time that Samantha can be seen 'relaxing.' She's leaned up against one of the columns in the Arena, a sandwich in one hand and a thermos of something that smells god-awful in another. Her tail flops lazily beside her and she looks around for people she knows.
Anything to get her mind off what's going on.
B?
Now she has seen the other woman and is walking towards her, a weak smile on her lips.] Hey, Sam-san. Do you need help with that?

princess mithian ❧ day and night 173 ❧ OPEN
A) DAY OF 173: The princess finds shelter against the wall of a building, her hands curled around her crossbow, one that's run out of arrows. She's not protected, nor does she know where to find it. But she will fight for her life if she has to, somehow.
B) NIGHT OF 173: A few days with little sleep have taken their toll upon her and she's making her way to the Arena, steadying herself along the way, hoping to see a familiar face, to know that those she cares about are alright, and perhaps to stay safe. ]
B.
[Conan's considerably bedraggled, but still in one piece. He's slept, too tired not to, and is rested if not refreshed, sizing up the conditions of the Folkvang Shelter, fire damge and Arena for himself. He's en route to the Arena when he spots a woman making her way toward it with the careful steps of one not entirely in full control of themselves. It takes him a moment to recognise the princess but he jogs over to her side when he does.]

Jo Harvelle | Day 173 | thor and hospital
[She was one of many that spent most of the past two days fighting, and the night before helping to bring in all wounded and dying. And when she says wounded, she means to the point of needing the help. She's covered in gashes and bruises and she's pretty sure she broke her wrist, but it doesn't matter much when there are allies who have lost limbs, who are passed out in the field.
So when she does find time to rest? It's very much a 'here's an open spot against the wall, I'll just sit right here and sleep'. Feel free to come up and sit next to her, heal her, what have you. If it's healing, she'll be pretty likely to push you away - there are other people who need it more - but her resolve isn't as strong as in battle. If you push enough she'll give in.]
situation b: evening/night
[she's been healed, she's has a few hours of sleep, and now she's back up and moving around. The healers and other people with helpful powers are still at work, so Jo figures they'll need some help themselves. She knows a few of the healers, and as she moves around she looks for them, looks to give them a little boost. Maybe find some food while she's at it - sitting around wasn't something she liked to do, so feel free to run into her anywhere there are large groups of people collecting. She's also looking for people to restock her ammunition - she lost too many arrows out there, doesn't have enough bullets. If, no when, they have their next cycle she needs to be ready.]
A
Frustrated, he spots the woman leaning against the wall holding her wrist. It's obviously either a sprain or a break, either of which could be made less painful with his ice power. He approaches her quietly.]

Kate Beckett | 173 | hospital!
[The truth of the matter is: she had to be brought here. She was stupid and reckless and all the things she would chastise someone else for being. Immature. She should have found a healer or gotten off herself before it got that bad, but she didn't, and when she finally wakes up she's sitting in a chair in the hospital and someone must have healed hr because a lot of the basic wounds are gone.
Despite protests from healers, Kate is up as soon as she can. She's up and moving, walking around to see if there's anything she can do to help - take away the pain from someone waiting for a healer, grab something for someone, talk to someone for someone. She's not going to be useless, and the more she moves the less she has to think about just about everything.]
situation b: late
[Exhausted isn't really the word for it, but it's close. She's just as adamant about refusing treatment from healers who talk to her - other people need it more - but she's not as quick to walk away. It's very possibly that you'll find her leaning up against a wall somewhere, trying to keep herself away to help. Or maybe she found an empty wall-space in an extra room, or in the hallway, just long enough for her to rest her legs. There's too much for her to do for sleep, but she can rest her eyes for a moment or two.]

173 | OPEN | Arena/Elsewhere
[The fighting has lulled, for now, but Castiel hasn't returned to the Arena just yet. He's making a sweep for people that need healing or transport back to the Arena, though there's practically no room remaining there.]
[B: The Arena]
[There are so many wounded, and not nearly enough healers.
Castiel draws a breath, lifting his chin slightly, trying to find another reserve of energy to keep this up. He's leading; he needs to stay in this, stay active, direct people and do what he can. But he's reaching the very end of his strength, both for his power and physically, having barely slept a few hours in the past few days and the very nature of his power putting a great deal of stress on his body even with the periodic healing he's been able to receive.
He's down to having to choose whether to keep working, or hold off in order to maintain his own health, and he hates that choice.
Therefore, he's ignoring it and by extension more or less making a choice, stepping back into the fray and directing what healers are available to where they're needed, and picking out cases that need his attention in specific. Wounds too serious for the medium level healers to fix, as well as things that the healing power can't repair but damage drain can. He can't just not act when he's needed.
He lasts about another three hours of this before the world spins in front of his eyes and he sways on his feet, taking a few steps back from the cot of the patient he'd been treating before collapsing unceremoniously to the floor in a dead faint.]

Her voice is soft, cheeks pale -- but eyes full of relief, as he's alright.]

day and night 173 | ota
[The battle took its toll. Helping the wounded, however, is taking an even greater one. He knows he can only take so much upon himself without dying - and despite how he may appear to onlookers he has no death wish - and he knows he'll be needed on the battlefield again. So he tries to take upon himself only what would save lives, the bear minimum needed for it.
He moves away from one suffering warrior, blood trickling down his abdomen, teeth gritting as he tries to get used to the pain.
Maybe he pushed it this time, but he's still glad to be doing it.]

Option B
Her skirt is speckled with blood as pauses, sighing as she pushes a stray curl off of her forehead with the back of her hand. She's tired but there's still plenty needing to be done.
By chance she glances over and spots the man resting against a wall. He's hurt, she can see that from where she is and she hurries over to him, kneeling down beside him. She sets the small first aid kit she's been carrying down and flips it open.]

The whole of day 173, from morning to evening | OTA
[ Two more days of battling, two more days of anxiety locked in the building, trying to bandage people up left and right, witnessing the horrifying injuries from people who lost limbs or had their bodies completely burned, after a dragon supposedly managed to break into Freya's district and set a few houses on fire. The near panic attack moments she had during the morning alone... she couldn't count them.
Even so, that barely stopped her from continuing to help as much as she can. If you're injuried, she's going to come in and check on you, bringing food or medicines. If you're among the helpers or passerbys, you might spot her as she's sitting in a corner alone, trying to overcome another of her anxieties moment. She looks like she definitely needs a break from everything.
The only positive note is that she eventually finished those barriers of plants she worked on for the past days. They're now forming two semi-circular domes around both the hospital and Arena, of course leaving openings to let people come and go. It's like being surrounded by forest wherever you go, but it won't get in your way. When she does indeed take a break, Hanako can be found admiring the results of her own work, as a way to cope and relax by looking at nature. ]
[ Afternoon/Evening - Arena ]
[ She'll spend the rest of the day carrying people from a spot to another in the vast Arena, again using her vines as stretchers to make up for the lack of them, since the number of injuried is increasing dramatically.
And then, when the sun is setting down in the sky, she's going to climb up to the highest spot of the arena, watching the view of the city before it becomes dark. After that talk with Namine, she figured she could do this once more before going to find a place to sleep in, drinking from a bottled tea. It helped her relax the other time, hopefully it can have the same effect again. ]

All of Day 173, in and around the Arena
Now that the fighting's done for the moment, she's:
A. Checking up on people's bandages, making sure everyone has enough water and food and is as comfortable as they can be.
B. Every now and then she's patrolling around the Arena because though the fighting might be at a lull for now, that doesn't mean there couldn't possibly be lurking enemies.
C. Finally sitting down to have a brief rest. She knows her limits, and she is toeing that line quite efficiently, thank you.]

Stupid boyfriend.Ezio has made his way back towards the arena, and looks for a familiar face among the refugees there. 173 | OPEN | HOSPITAL / AROUND
[ Come morning of day 173, even Vriska has to admit to herself she has pushed too hard. She is just soaked in her own blood. It runs down her face, it gums up her hair, it's on her legs and her arms and her torso. She's battered and bruised and absolutely everything hurts and for the nth time she curses the loss of her powers.
But she is alive. And she will make her way slowly through the streets, trailing blood behind her, in an effort to find a healer before she passes out. This is the general direction of the hospital, if she remembers correctly, which she's not quite sure she does.
No. She will not pass out. As confused as her memories may be these days - she knows she has her pride. And her will. And what strength remains to her. And she is not going to show these chumps that she can't handle a little Ragnarok. ]
[ option b ]
[ Having, thankfully, been healed by now, Vriska has set off across the city. She has not got a particular aim, except perhaps to find supplies and check up on people she knows. She wanders the districts, vaguely wishing she could still fly, fightin' pipe and gun both tucked into a makeshift belt - a torn piece of her own now ratty shirt - tied around her waist.
Her hair is still ratty and messy with now-dried blood - she hasn't got the mind to clean it just yet, even if it kind of grosses her out. Besides - she's not the only one worse for wear right about now. ]
Let's go with B!
She needed a break.
Seeing Vriska, she grunted and gave the woman a nod.]

Arena - Night - Day 173
When Sora returned to the arena to find friends in the afternoon, his exhaustion overcome him. He sat down to give his body time to rest. It's hours before he wakes up again. He lifts himself to his knees and looks around, taking in all of the wounded and equally drained people around him. It's dark, he notices. How long did he sleep? He yawns long and loud and nearly lies down again. The ground is not the ideal place for a nap, but he could sleep anywhere in the state he's in.]

Day 173 morning
One of the healers on the field had already patched her up as best as they could without draining their energy, leaving her with a bandage winding up her arm where one of the ice creatures had gotten to it.
Maybe heading to the Folkvang shelter for some rest would be a good idea, but right now? She's just going to find a place to sit so she can check her bracelet and see if her friends are okay.]

Rise!
Day 173-176
He's still rebuilding and restoring lost data as well, so the connection to his arms is still quite unstable that he can barely use his arms. It takes a considerable amount of energy, and all the time he's been stuck in bed is dedicated to sleep. He's already taken care of the nurses (telepathically) so that none of them disturb him, and the curtain is pulled around his bed. His coat has been taken away from him, sadly, so anyone who peeks behind the curtain will find Roxas sleeping soundly in his bed.]
no subject
At the very least he knocked before opening the door, though he didn't wait for an answer before stepping in quietly. The curtain is drawn, so he pads up to the bed slowly, giving ??? a chance to acknowledge him first if that's what he wants. He's still not leaving until he assesses how he's healing, though.]
