END OF ARC 1: DAY 171-172 BATTLE
[At dawn of Day 171, the battle begins again. It's the same as before, only both sides' troops are better organized. The first day will go badly: losses will be heavy, as the forces of Asgard as their allies seem overwhelmed by the numbers and ferocity of their opponents. The more battle-ready gods themselves can be seen openly on the battlefield today (Thor, Heimdall, Baldr, & Freya as melee. Loki, Sigyn, & Hel as mostly-unseen magical support. Freyr is still on a boat.). At night the battle pauses for a few brief hours, only long enough to bring in the wounded and the dead.
However, on Day 172, things begin to look up again. Another wave of reinforcements arrives, this time a large army of mostly human but partly elven forces, along with a few leaders who can quickly be pointed out as gods. This new army helps turn the tide, and this day goes well for the "good" side (though only by a slim margin).
But it still isn't over. In fact, it seems like it could draw out for a long time, until every bit of Asgard's side is destroyed.]
[ooc note: this is the catch-all log for Days 171-172 (Nov 8-11)! It includes the battle, but can be used for anything going on in the city, for medics, etc. Anything that isn't in the shelter can go here.
The shelter log is here. The Day 173 downtime log is here. Please be sure to include the day/time of day in the subject line of top-level threads. Also, be sure to have read the entire plot post.
There is a timeline of all important posts in the ooc comm here. If you have plot questions, please submit them to the plot post so everyone else can get the answers. Thank you!]

But that'd be too easy.
[A small, tired smile before she's turning back around, aiming at the legs of an approaching ice giant and giving a sigh of relief when it hits and the giant falls. As far as her power-battery was concerned, she was in the red zone and fading fast, and her ammo was disappearing even faster. Two arrows, maybe three shells and two more rounds in the pistol she still has tucked into the back of her jeans.]

And that just wouldn't be life, right?
[While she's busy with an ice giant, Dean takes out a smallish fire thing before sighing. It probably can't be heard over the noise of battle, but it's just as visible on his face. He takes quick stock of what Jo's got before realizing they're both running dangerously low.]
What I wouldn't give for a couple a' grenades.

[That's more of a joke, she'd love it if this whole battle thing was a lot easier. Especially when she has to use her last couple of shells on more enemies. As she puts the shotgun back into her little pack to refill later, she ends up backing up even closer to Dean, bumping against him momentarily.]
You carry those around normally back home?
[Just the arrows at this point, so rather than thinking on offense she's looking around for some kind of plan. They weren't in immediate danger yet, but the enemy forces would come after them the moment they thought she and Dean were trying to retreat.]
We need to make it back to a med tent. Get more ammo.

[Dean shoots off his last rounds as shoves the useless sawed-off into the back of his jeans. Now it's just him and a trusty machete he swings in his hand a few times.]
Only when Sam's not being a baby.
[AKA when Sam lets Dean, or doesn't notice him sneaking a couple into the trunk for big jobs. Then again, grenades work best on the living and breathing kind of creepy crawly.]
If there is more ammo. Can catch the stragglers that get through everyone else, though.

[She shoots him a grin, manages to hit another giant or human or something. Enemy. That's all she really knows. She hits it and that leaves her with two. Three, if she can make it over and pull that one back out again.]
Doubt Sam would be a baby now. [A grenade would be real nice, because yeah. These things? She considers them the living and breathing kind of creepy crawly. Or the running and attacking kind.]
There's gonna have to be something. Run! [There. A break. She's going to sprint right past him because there is no way they are taking down any more of those things.]
