FESTIVAL BANQUET: FORWARD DATED TO DEC 29
Who: EVERYONE
What: Winter Festival Banquet
When: Evening of 196 (forward dated to Dec 29)
Where: Every Welcome Hall
Rating: PG-13 or less (anything higher please take to a private log)
[This evening, anyone living in the Welcome Halls will come into the main floor to find a banquet of delicious food from both Yggdrasil and the worlds of anyone attending. There will be plenty of chairs & tables around to sit at and a big fire in the living room fireplace. Your patron god may or may not attend, but keep an eye out for the chance to talk to them! The food will be there all night, and the atmosphere warm and welcoming.
Those who have moved out will recieve texts on their bracelets inviting them to come to dinner. Also, for tonight the discomfort of entering someone else's welcome hall has been lifted, though only for those invited by someone who belongs to this House. Guests are more than welcome! Have a great time, and give us some smiles!]
Please keep things organized and reply only to the appropriate subthread!

[Either she is missing something or being an adorable little girl is pretty easy.]

Mm.
Some of this food looks very familiar to me. Is there anything here like that for you?

Let's see -- I don't see much I don't recognise, but from Japan -- ah! Osechi ryouri!

Osechi ryouri?
[she mangles the pronunciation a bit, but close enough]

It's traditional New Year's food -- over here. See -- the pink and white colours are meant to evoke the good luck associated with the red and white we use when celebrating important events, bringing good things for the New Year.

[quiet for a second, but when she looks at the osechi she's back to being bright and interested]
Is all this meant for one person? What are these?
[seafood she recognizes, but the veggies and etc not so much]

Um -- shrimp and salmon should be pretty self-explanatory. Again, it's the colour connection! The beans -- well, they're called 'mame' in Japan which sounds like the word for 'health'. Herring roe -- well 'herring' sounds like 'number' and the 'roe' is said like 'child' so this should encourage you to have many children, I suppose!

[yeah this is so far beyond her scope of experience that she cannot process it as a realistic thing]
Your home sounds like a rather fantastical place to me.

I think it might simply be a bit different.

I do hope people come to this. I don't even know most of our Housemates. Just the other day I found out that someone I'd been speaking to on the network was actually my suitemate. Slightly embarrassing.

I suppose that's their prerogative.
