OPEN | TOURNAMENT OF THINGS
Who: Hosts, Participants, Volunteers, Spectators, Merchants, and all your pets. everyone and everything.
What: The Tournament of Worlds & Magick
When:extremely late Day 218 - 221
Where: The Arena in the Thor District
Rating: uh, probably PG-13 at most, for violence?
[ Due to limited player response and sign-ups, we've cut back on how long the tourneys run and had to mix up the tier systems. We had only one entry for Team Magic, so this division has, unfortunately, been cancelled. There will still be a neat-o consolation prize for Kaz and Euri though. Marksmanship and Hand-To-Hand Combat will run on a round-robin tournament set-up, wherein each contestant will face all other contestants within their division once to determine the champion for each division. Swordsmanship will run on a single elimination tier-system until the final tier, at which point we have three remaining contestants (again, due to limited sign-ups). To determine the overall champion of this division, the contestants will be dropped into the multi-terrained ground as detailed in this entry. They'll have twenty-five (25) minutes to knock each other out of the ring. Last one standing wins. Individual Magic will follow the same system as the final tier of Swordsmanship.
All competitions and champions have been determined by the Random Number Generator. The complete layout can be found here. Each Day/Division/Contest will be given a top-level comment below for the involved players to play out their matches if they'd like, as well as for friends and family (or enemies!) to stand around and shout obscenities and all that fun stuff.
A million thank-yous to Kami and Dai for helping out with this, and then another million apologies to all of the players involved that have had to wait on this. I know it's painfully late, and for that, I do sincerely apologise. Life got ahead of me on top of the complications in configuring the mechanics of the tourney. Thanks again for your patience.
If you have any questions or comments, or if both players involved in a match would like to discuss a different outcome of their match, please use the OOC comments section below! Those involved in the three-way Swordsmanship final, we do ask that you pop on in there to let us know how you feel about determining the champion there, because sob it makes sense to none of us, but we will figure it out! We can always just do another RNG roll. Up to you guys!
Aaand we're done! Feel free to start your own threads wherever you'd like. The only thing we ask is that if you plot any cheating, sabotage or other shenanigans that would require interference, let us know. I totally encourage it, so that we can break out some cans of whoop-ass on you hooligans.
but other than that, go crazy and have fun! ♥ ]

His teachings have never failed me in the past. [And Jon now counts multiple battles to his belt as well. That's not without mentioning the training he's given the recruits at Castle Black as well. When he pulls back from his brother, his grin has turned into a teasing smirk.] And it would seem that at least one of us remembered our lessons with Ser Rodrick!
[Yes. Yes he does ;_;]
I would be pleased with getting to the finals, to be honest.

Arthur has chosen fine men to aid his battles.
[ he laughs, warm and easy. robb has never been one for tourney's. there's far too much polish and even he will admit that gawaine is good with blade. he may have the whispering woods to his name, but even robb can be bested. ]
With three of us in the roster, I should wish one of us get that far.

that we know of]The more I hear about the man, the more I find myself looking forward to meeting him. He sounds like a good king, much like someone else I know.
[He grins and reaches to muss Robb's auburn curls, just like he does often with Arya.]
Yes, I suppose so. Though, if I am to be honest, I am not sadden by Arya's lost. Our little sister needs to learn that victories come in due time and are rewards of long hours of practice. She needs the lesson in humility and impatience.
[But truly, Jon is simply relieved she's not going farther, meaning that she has less chance of being hurt during a fight.]
no subject
Have you not? Perhaps after you've won, we could see him.
[ he doesn't mind. affection is hard to come by, and he's honestly a wee bit touch starved. ]
I should only wish she not learn it in this way. But, perhaps she would not be Arya if she had tried to take another path.
Do you know where she got her sword? I have known she was always trying to best Bran, but her interest puzzles me.

I did not have the honor yet, no. I spoke to his sister, Morgana, a few times, as well Princess Mithian and a few of his knights. [He's wearing Mithian's token, one he still think should have been given to his brother, as Robb is a more seasoned warrior, and a King. Still, he's honored to fight for her as well.
The boy commander tilts his head as he arches an eyebrow at his brother.]
If she has not told you, I can not betray her trust, Robb, I am sorry. [It's more that Jon would rather not have his brother be mad at him for getting their baby sister a sword before she left Winterfell.] She grew up wanting to hear stories of the greatest Queen and of Princess warriors, are that surprised she's looking up to them and try to become one of them?
no subject
I understand. I shall not press further.
[ it is the same with Sansa. he trusts her and the weight of the secrets she holds. he wonders then, when they all became so quiet about these things? but he nods, understandingly. ]
No, mayhaps I am not. She will grow to be a better warrior then both of us, at this rate.
no subject
Thank you. I am sure in time, she will tell you.
[They all have secrets that in time will be shared, after all.
Jon chuckles lightly at that.]
I would not be surprised, as long as she heeds the lessons of her dancing master.
no subject
Aye. I hope she will. [ he laughs. ]
Then perhaps we are fortunate that she is not yet so versed in this song.
no subject
Jon laughs as well.]
Aye, we are, lest she rounds us up wielding that small sword of hers.
[A pause. Jon does miss spending time with his brother, the kind of time that turns them both into mischievous boys instead of men grown.]
Perhaps, once the tourney is over, we should seek to speak over ale and meat. It seems like forever ago since last we did.
no subject
Mayhaps it will be good on us both.
[ he's always up for spending quality time with his baby brother. ]
no subject
[Beside having too much ale and turn them into idiots, Jon means.]
Your treat, since I have further than you in the tourney.
