OPEN | TOURNAMENT OF THINGS
Who: Hosts, Participants, Volunteers, Spectators, Merchants, and all your pets. everyone and everything.
What: The Tournament of Worlds & Magick
When:extremely late Day 218 - 221
Where: The Arena in the Thor District
Rating: uh, probably PG-13 at most, for violence?
[ Due to limited player response and sign-ups, we've cut back on how long the tourneys run and had to mix up the tier systems. We had only one entry for Team Magic, so this division has, unfortunately, been cancelled. There will still be a neat-o consolation prize for Kaz and Euri though. Marksmanship and Hand-To-Hand Combat will run on a round-robin tournament set-up, wherein each contestant will face all other contestants within their division once to determine the champion for each division. Swordsmanship will run on a single elimination tier-system until the final tier, at which point we have three remaining contestants (again, due to limited sign-ups). To determine the overall champion of this division, the contestants will be dropped into the multi-terrained ground as detailed in this entry. They'll have twenty-five (25) minutes to knock each other out of the ring. Last one standing wins. Individual Magic will follow the same system as the final tier of Swordsmanship.
All competitions and champions have been determined by the Random Number Generator. The complete layout can be found here. Each Day/Division/Contest will be given a top-level comment below for the involved players to play out their matches if they'd like, as well as for friends and family (or enemies!) to stand around and shout obscenities and all that fun stuff.
A million thank-yous to Kami and Dai for helping out with this, and then another million apologies to all of the players involved that have had to wait on this. I know it's painfully late, and for that, I do sincerely apologise. Life got ahead of me on top of the complications in configuring the mechanics of the tourney. Thanks again for your patience.
If you have any questions or comments, or if both players involved in a match would like to discuss a different outcome of their match, please use the OOC comments section below! Those involved in the three-way Swordsmanship final, we do ask that you pop on in there to let us know how you feel about determining the champion there, because sob it makes sense to none of us, but we will figure it out! We can always just do another RNG roll. Up to you guys!
Aaand we're done! Feel free to start your own threads wherever you'd like. The only thing we ask is that if you plot any cheating, sabotage or other shenanigans that would require interference, let us know. I totally encourage it, so that we can break out some cans of whoop-ass on you hooligans.
but other than that, go crazy and have fun! ♥ ]

I'm okay with a RNG roll for this, though! Jon making it to the finals is a pretty nice accomplishment for himself, so it's all good! :D

DAY 218 | TOURNAMENT SET-UP AND FESTIVAL
The festival will carry through the whole of the tournament, so feel free to have your characters set up their own booths or assume that there will be food readily available throughout. ]
[Harfn Tea Room! OPEN - all days!]
Inside the tent, a carpet has been laid down and a few tables and plush chairs set up to recreate the cozy surroundings of the tearooms. With a couple if artfully placed bookcases and a house plant or two, the only thing stopping you from realising that you're not tucked away in a private corner of Odin is the bustle of the tournament outside ... but with a good cup of tea and an interesting book or fascinating companion, you could manage to overlook even that!
Outside the tent, a booth has been set up displaying the cafe's to-go wares -- cakes, cookies, slices, sandwiches and pastries and your choice of tea or coffee to take-out. The staff cheerfully greet and banter with the passers-by, directing their attention to either the goods on display or the oasis of relative calm within.
There are even a few specially priced wares offered in honour of the festival spiced non-alchoholic cider and hot chocolate! Go on. You know you want to!]

DAY 219 | MARKSMANSHIP & HAND-TO-HAND
Later in the afternoon, once the Marksmanship has wrapped up neatly, the first three battles of the Hand-To-Hand division will commence. Everyone will meet at the center of the tourney grounds to fight in an unmarked ring. There are stands around the grounds for spectators, as well as a bench of chairs for the tourney hosts and the officiant to observe and referee (though there seems to be one chair specifically left empty at Arthur's left . . . ) ]
ARCHERY

DAY 221 | EVERYTHING ELSE?!
Afterwards, there will be an hour during which everyone will be cleared from the Arena - contestants and spectators alike. Walk around, eat some food, lick your wounds - do what you need to do. But there'll be a few seconds of a loud rumbling noise coming from behind those walls before the doors swing open again to show a beautifully transformed Arena.
The center of the grounds will be layered with various different terrains (think all of the Pokemon fields smashed together), encircled with a thick white line that has the slightest of glimmers to it. With the help of the gods and ???'s rune array, we have a new playing field for the last tier of Swordsmanship and the commencing Magic tourney. Sit down and admire it from afar for now; it'll hang around for a few days after the tourney for people to tinker around with before crumbling into a fine layer of dust across the Arena floor.
Later in the evening, after it's gone dark, will be the Victors' Ceremony, where the champions of each division will be granted their prizes by two very special visitors: Thor and Odin. There'll be music, food, and a free pass to make a huge mess with none of the responsibility of cleaning it. You crazy children. :') ]
SWORDSMANSHIP TIER TWO

JON SNOW vs. CHERIOUR
ISKANDER vs. GWAINE

SWORDSMANSHIP FINAL
Sora of Destiny Islands, Jon Snow of Castle Black, and Sir Gwaine of Camelot - you three will have just under the half hour to prove your prowess on this new field. Your goal is to force your opponents from the ring in whatever way you might. Use the ground given to you, or fall victim to it. This is the ultimate test of your abilities, may they serve you well. Keep the contest fair and may the best man amongst you win.
[ In which the victor and champion is Sora! ]
INDIVIDUAL MAGIC
Welcome to the last day of the tournaments. Now that you have seen the skill of our Travelers, it seemed appropriate to end with a melee that would test the our contestant's abilities to combine both magic and regular combat.
Sophie of Gargamel, Samantha of Dry Run, and Aladdin of Alma Toran. The three of you will have half an hour to show what you have learned in your time here. Each of you may use any combination of weapon, power, and the grounds to force the other competitors out of the ring. Remember to keep things fair and--good luck!
[ooc: RNG results! Sophie 1-30, Samantha 31-60, and Aladdin 61-90, with the RNG rolls being 77, 53, 90. The winner will be Aladdin!]

AWARDS CEREMONY
But after twenty minutes to mingle, Arthur will call attention to a long table that's covered with a cloth made lumpy and distorted by the objects beneath it. He's wearing his crown, cape and a smile as he holds up a goblet full of wine. ]
To all of our combatants of this week, you have our most sincere gratitude and congratulations. Each of you has fought with honour and dignity, proving for all across the realms that strength rests in the hands of those that would wield it, regardless of station, age, sex or birthplace. Despite our many differences, I am more proud now than ever to stand amongst my fellow warriors, we Travellers to Asgard that refuse to stand down.
But - after the days' beatings, I'm sure many of you wish to as least sit down to rest your sore muscles, so without further ado, it is my distinct honour to present to you the god of Strength, Thor, and the god of Wisdom, King of Asgard, Odin.
[ A bit of an awkward shift; they ... hadn't exactly been expecting the latter. ]
