OPEN | TOURNAMENT OF THINGS
Who: Hosts, Participants, Volunteers, Spectators, Merchants, and all your pets. everyone and everything.
What: The Tournament of Worlds & Magick
When:extremely late Day 218 - 221
Where: The Arena in the Thor District
Rating: uh, probably PG-13 at most, for violence?
[ Due to limited player response and sign-ups, we've cut back on how long the tourneys run and had to mix up the tier systems. We had only one entry for Team Magic, so this division has, unfortunately, been cancelled. There will still be a neat-o consolation prize for Kaz and Euri though. Marksmanship and Hand-To-Hand Combat will run on a round-robin tournament set-up, wherein each contestant will face all other contestants within their division once to determine the champion for each division. Swordsmanship will run on a single elimination tier-system until the final tier, at which point we have three remaining contestants (again, due to limited sign-ups). To determine the overall champion of this division, the contestants will be dropped into the multi-terrained ground as detailed in this entry. They'll have twenty-five (25) minutes to knock each other out of the ring. Last one standing wins. Individual Magic will follow the same system as the final tier of Swordsmanship.
All competitions and champions have been determined by the Random Number Generator. The complete layout can be found here. Each Day/Division/Contest will be given a top-level comment below for the involved players to play out their matches if they'd like, as well as for friends and family (or enemies!) to stand around and shout obscenities and all that fun stuff.
A million thank-yous to Kami and Dai for helping out with this, and then another million apologies to all of the players involved that have had to wait on this. I know it's painfully late, and for that, I do sincerely apologise. Life got ahead of me on top of the complications in configuring the mechanics of the tourney. Thanks again for your patience.
If you have any questions or comments, or if both players involved in a match would like to discuss a different outcome of their match, please use the OOC comments section below! Those involved in the three-way Swordsmanship final, we do ask that you pop on in there to let us know how you feel about determining the champion there, because sob it makes sense to none of us, but we will figure it out! We can always just do another RNG roll. Up to you guys!
Aaand we're done! Feel free to start your own threads wherever you'd like. The only thing we ask is that if you plot any cheating, sabotage or other shenanigans that would require interference, let us know. I totally encourage it, so that we can break out some cans of whoop-ass on you hooligans.
but other than that, go crazy and have fun! ♥ ]

No, I meant as a participant. [While women had no place on the battlefield, or on the fighting ground of a tourney in his world, he's learned that other worlds might not be like his.
He smiles lightly and nods toward the token she has in hand, finally noticing it.]
Have you come to choose a champion then? I'd suggest my brother, if so. He has won many battles back in our world.
[He's a King and she's a Princess, it fits, at least in Jon's mind.]

However, she smiles at his question, his suggestion that follows.] I have come to find a champion, yes. One that will wear my token. [ And she smiles at him, deciding in that moment that he is her right choice. For as much as she finds confidence a good virtue, humility is a far greater one.]
I would have you wear my token, Jon Snow.

Her choice obviously surprises him, his mouth gaping a little as his eyes convey how unexpected this is for me. Back in Westeros, no one chooses the bastard as a champion after all.]
Me? I...[He doesn't know what to do. Part of him feels like he should refuse, like this may be against his vows, while another part of him is rather flattered, despite it all.] I...[His gaze drops to the black shield in his hand, as he muses this over. He should refuse, but this is no marriage, nor crown set upon his head. There is nothing wrong with this, he knows that much, and there is a great honor in being chosen 'champion' of a lady, even more so of a princess.
Jon's grey eyes rise to Mithian's again, warmth spreading to his cheeks as he nods, finding his voice once more.]
I would be very honored to, Princess Mithian. [And with that, he offers his left arm, his shield arm, so she can tie the token.]

She smiles when he stammers a bit, her grin both amused and tolerating. While sometimes she cannot understand it, she knows she has an effect on people, most of the time because of her status (and her beauty) but sometimes it's her kindness that takes people aback, as if a princess should not be so kind.
Regardless, she looks happier when he offers his arm and does not argue with or refuse her. He may not the be only one to carry her favor today but she hopes that he finds it to be an honor and not a burden as she moves to tie it on his arm carefully.]
I am glad to hear it. Even if you do not win today, which I am sure you will, come find me and I will give you a flower and a kiss on the cheek.

His gaze moves back to Mithian's face, her smile mirrored on his lips despite the heat on his cheeks. He wants to scold himself, he's the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, he's taken to bed a spearwife while raiding with the Wildlings, he shouldn't be this uncomfortable around pretty ladies like the princess.]
I will do my best to honor your favor, but truly, you do have to reward me for it.

[Jon watches her tie the token on his arm before she moves to face him again. He hesitates for a moment, not truly knowing what he's supposed to do now. Knightly things were more of Sansa's department in his family: men that kept to the Old Gods could not be anointed after all.
In the end, he chooses to bow lightly at her.]
I will see to honor your choice, my lady.

Thank you, Princess.
[He then watches her leave the armory before returning to choosing a shield that would be most comfortable for him to fight with.]
